Today I started watching old episodes of Survivor and they are jumping off the boat at the beginning of the show and trying to grab food and they start chasing these chickens and grabbing at this chicken that has fallen in the water and I just start sobbing out of no where! I don't know why! Cause they weren't treating the chickens right? Cause they were stressing about food? Cause the tension of scrambling to get the things? I don't know, but it triggered a brief but intense round of sobbing out of no where! Can I just say that I'm sure glad hubby was not in the room!?
I got caught up watching dog videos on FB. The ones where their owners return home from war, dogs making babies laugh, dogs who were lost but then returned home.
My son hugging my step moms old, sick, dog. He was being super gentle with her even without us asking, and he is usually a crazy man.

Because I can’t poop (for 3 days) and I tried all my usual tricks. It’s going to be a long 3 months... also because I can’t sleep while my H could sleep for 24 hours if you let him. I want to sleep a whole day!
-Just had a cop be rude to me at work and I cried about it. -my boss sent me a really nice email about how hard I’ve been working even though he knows I feel awful and that sent me into water works
When I was fixing up the couch a pillow fell off and I was too lazy to pick it up. Fast forward 30min later I decide to sit at the computer (which is close to the couch) but my back was hurting and I needed a pillow, but the laziness was real. That's when I saw the pillow that had fallen earlier and rolled over close to my chair, so I shed a tear because it was meant to be hahaha.
I found a tick on my left hip this morning It was super tiny and for sure had not been there long, but I am waiting for a call back from my OBGYN to see if I need to go in to my PCP or keep an eye on it. I am now super paranoid and had to have MH check me for any more and I checked my daughter over. Ugh.

@southernlady07 that’s super stressful about the tick. My one and only tick bite ever came when I was 3 weeks pregnant with my first. I was so paranoid the whole pregnancy even though I never showed any symptoms. Good luck to you!
I found out today that my parents are planning on buying a dresser for us for DS's new room. I wasn't expecting this at all and my H and I really appreciate it so it made me tear up a bit when my mom was asking me to look for one. Very lucky to have such caring parents/grandparents.
Aww, that is so sweet of them! @nlc8424. I have been starting to stress a bit bc almost nothing was marked reserved / purchased on my registry, SIL hasn't said a peep to ask me about dates or guestlist... and DH is pretty adamant we wait until after the shower to make any major purchases. We are still planning to get ourselves a new bed and LOs changing dresser (bc really it's part of a bedroom set that shoukd all swap around and be basically interchangeable, and not "baby furniture" per se) but other than that I'm over here like... deep breaths, okay? we have all the diapers, clothes to get us started, and a baby box... It will be okay.
Except then when I was talking to my mom on Sunday, and I mentioned feeling just a bit stressed bc the one thing you do need to bring baby home from the hospital is the carseat. So she said she would send us the cash for that so I don't have to worry. I did almost cry.
And to top it off, I have a feeling SIL is up to something. No one has said anything specific, but when talking to a couple friends, they were both like, "I wouldn't worry about it. SIL won't leave you hanging," and when DH brought up to his mom this evening about helping us reupholster grandma's wingchair, and his plans to add a swivel/rocking base to it, she was just like, "oh, I wouldn't worry about doing all that..." Hmmmmm.... I have a feeling I really will burst into tears if I end up walking into a surprise shower.
I cried yesterday while shoe shopping with H because my feet are huge and they hurt so much, but the girl didn't have my size in the first couple cuter styles I found, and one that was not too bad, I realised I wasn't going to realistically be able to fuss with bending over to do a strap every day... and I'm huge, and frustrated, bc all I can wear are ugly pregnant nurse shoes, and I cant even find any that fit! :s. Not my finest moment.
Bright side, is I did eventually find some Dansko shoes I'm hoping will work. They are totally just plain black gigantic pregnant nurse shoes, but hopefully they will help. I am maybe going to bite the bullet and try them tomorrow in the carpeted area at work, but I'll wear my regular shoes, too, just so if I'm trying them out and they don't seem like they're going to work afterall, I can still bring them back to the store. :/ I hope they turn out to be good tho. Bc I don't want to have to keep going back to the drawing board.
@BusinessWife aw I'm sorry you're feeling stressed about potential lack of shower! I kind of hate big surprises like that so I really hope that if your SIL is planning on doing something she lets you know. I mean you'd probably like to look a little nice and have your hair and makeup done, right?!
Truthfully, babies don't need a ton but it's a great benefit to feel more "established" before they come home. I hope more is revealed soon for you and your H!
Also, bigger feet suck during pregnancy. I just ordered some canvas top crocs and also a "work shoe" croc to see if I like them. I don't even care how professional they are and if they're appropriate for my job since I rarely see my manager. Hopefully your new shoes will work out! Big hugs for all frustrations.
@BusinessWife I cried more than once last pregnancy over not being able to find shoes or clothes that fit. The struggle is real. This pregnancy has been easier cause I already have a collection of shapeless stretchy clothes and no pride left
@BusinessWife that’s nice your SIL is planning something. I had a big surprise bridal shower and it was tons of fun. But I told everyone that I wanted no surprises during my pregnancy so that one I knew about. Work gave me a surprise shower, but it wasn’t until I was like 37 weeks and they were all annoyed that there was nothing left on my registry. If you didn’t want me to buy it all myself, you should have told me you were planning a shower or not waited so long!
@nlc8424 Exactly! And I said this to my one friend, about my suspicions, and I said exactly that! Now whenever I go over to SILs, I'm going to be paranoid that I have to look extra cute, "just in case," and then she's just laughing, cos she says it's like something out of a Netflix series, the suburban houswife who is forever convinced she's about to walk into the surprise party.... that never happens!!! :D arghhh!!! Meanwhile, DIL is actually a beautician/hair stylist, so I already feel like I can never go over there w/o makeup lol
@stothi. Aw, thanks! That did make me lol, too :) I am getting to the edge of that point here, where I feel the last shred of any pride about to fray way... almost. Almost.
@nackie that is what I'm saying, too! Like if I just start buying things because it looks like nothing been bought, then it defeats the purpose of having a shower! As far as like work goes, too, I do hope people start marking things purchased at some point, vc that is also a big part of the point of the registry, is not to end up with like, six strollers??? Lol hopefully it will all come together before too much longer here, or I am really going to be sweating :#
@BusinessWife welcome to the dansko pregnancy club lol. but seriously, they aren't cute. I feel for you. I wear them because my back/feet/legs/etc feel so much better, and they slip on, but my fashion self feels a lot bad about it. Between ill-fitting uniform shirts, ugly maternity pants and these shoes, I basically feel like a monster. But, it's for the baby, so I guess it's ok.
Crying because I got to see my son and puppy playing in the yard together today, for the first time since April. Hooray for healed puppy!

And maybe look into some Bjorn shoes. They're actually really comfortable. (That's what I use when I fly. Toby clog) And their casual shoes are really comfortable as well. They're more "granola" but the sandals and flats have support and your feet (and back, and hips) will love you.
I made and ate a healthy dinner tonight. Then like 5 minutes later had half a PB& J. Then an hour and half later I was STARVING and I was getting really upset about it. After Buddy was asleep, hubby agreed to go just across the street to a fast food place to get me tacos and pizza and donut like things cause I needed all three of those things. He texted me when he got there that they didn't have pizza anymore and I almost cried :'( But then he texted and said he'd drive to a different place before it closed to get me pizza to go with my tacos and then I did cry!!! And guys, when he got back, that pizza was so exactly what I wanted that I cried a little again while I ate it. I also made hubby leave the room so I could watch The Handmaid's Tale and yup, you guessed it, I totally cried.
Yesterday we met with potential contractors again hoping that they would be able to lower the price of our construction, and it just went way up before we even started. I expected issues to arise during renovations, but not before! Also we most likely won’t have room for our hot tub deck but I am convinced that we will still have a hot tub and it will be an oasis! DH and I were pretty down about it last night and it didn’t help that we had an overly tired and cranky toddler. Gonna go test out the hot tubs Sunday (well DH and my parents will while I stand on the side) to try to cheer us up.
I almost started crying in Panera yesterday - made it to my car before I freaked out. I went to pick up lunch for my boss and myself on the way back to the office after my epically long doctor’s appt. I know this is going to sound 100% ridiculous: I was sitting and waiting for the food, and there was a little girl playing with a baby doll. The friendly cashier had been talking and laughing with her and the mom, and when they turned to walk away, the girl started to drop the doll but didn’t realize, so the cashier started saying “Oops, careful! You’re gonna lose your baby! You’re gonna lose your baby!” So, maybe rethink your word choice when there’s a pregnant woman in the room.
I'm crying because I just realized my husband has the wrong phone number listed on his business website (the last few digits are transposed). He's known about it for a few months but I just realized it yesterday and forced him to fix it ASAP. He didn't think it was a big deal! "Because most people these days send emails." He quit his job a few months ago to form his own company so now we're relying on my income and benefits while he tries to build up a book of business. The goal is that one day his business will be successful enough for me to stay home full time, or perhaps work part time. How can the business ever be successful if he doesn't pay attention to crucial details??
Had a little freak out this morning, which brought tears to my eyes, and I'm trying to keep it together since I'm at work. My boss approved my work plan I had proposed to come back part-time after the baby is born, instead of full-time. I was excited about it when she first approved it but this morning on my way to work, I was thinking about how hard it is going to be to leave the baby with a babysitter. I know plenty of people do it, but it was making me emotional. I called my mom because I often talk to her on the way to work. She told me there's no way for me to know what is going to be right for me and the baby until he is born. She suggested I see if my husband can take paternity leave when I go back to work so we can delay sending the baby to the babysitter. She also said maybe she could come up (she lives about 5 hours away) and stay with us when I first go back to work to help take care of the baby.
I felt like I had gotten myself together, and then I went into work, and we started talking about different stuff like baby monitors and sleeping. (I work in an office-full of women.) One of my co-workers asked me if I was planning on coming back to work after the baby is born. I hadn't said anything about my freak out prior to work or my conversation with my mom. All I could say was, "Yes," and try to move on from the subject so I didn't start to cry in front of them.
@runninginva *Hugs* First of all - that is great that your boss approved your PT work proposal! Second - I can definitely relate. Taking my DD to daycare my first week back at work was one of the hardest things I've ever done. BUT it gets so, so much easier as time goes on and now I am so thankful she has been in school because she has learned things I never would have thought to teach her, gets to socialize and play with kids her age AND I get to have adult conversations throughout the day! I'm also really proud that my DD sees me going to job I love every day where I "help people". It's still hard to be away from her, but trying to look at the positives makes it easier for me. With all that said, I know I will be in tears when I have to take this baby to daycare, too and it will be an adjustment just like it was with my first.

@southernlady07, thank you so much for your kind words. That's exactly what I needed to hear. I know so many people do this every day, and I can get through it, too. I just have to keep telling myself that.
Two times yesterday: 1. It was MH's birthday and we didn't do anything out of the ordinary to celebrate - we did go out to dinner this past weekend, but last night just had a nice dinner at home and my DD and I had him go upstairs so we could set out his gifts and light candles on his Oreo ice cream cake (his favorite). When he came downstairs, we sang "happy birthday" to him and he looked SO excited and appreciative that I started tearing up and could barely finish singing. 2. We then watched the movie Wonder and it was such a heartwarming movie that I cried at the end. Highly recommend!

I’ll mention it at my appt today.
Thankfully, it was a big one not a deer tick and def wasn’t there long.
If it helps, a tick has to be attached for over 24 hrs in order to transmit lymes. So if you caught it quick you should be okay?
