People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

I might have to edit if this isn’t the first post anymore, but I’ve been struggling with my hate for my job and feeling like I can’t make a change because we’ll be moving within the year.

R/R: I haven't been sleeping well, which is very frustrating.  So I woke up earlier than normal around 4:10 and took my temp.  It would indicate I did not ovulate.  I went back to sleep and woke up and took it again around 5:35 and it was higher than yesterday and would indicate that maybe I did ovulate.  Neither was taken after a three hour stretch of sleep.  So I am guessing neither is accurate and I still don't have an answer.  I just want to cry.

    CS/Q: I still don't know what's going on.

GTKY : Ladies, what are you struggling with right now? Please post whether or not you want support or advice. Rule. If you post an answer to this GTKY, you must reach out and support/give advice to one other lady who is struggling with something, based on their stated preference.

@meggyme I have been struggling with the job situation too.  How soon are you moving?  Is there something you could do to make the job more bearable for you?

Mine is just that, like all of us, this TTC thing is stressing me out and upsetting me so much.  Its been almost three months since everything happened and I have yet to ovulate on my own.  Acupuncture usually regulates me fairly quickly and yet this time it isn't.  I had literally all the symptoms of ovulating yesterday, yet still dont' know if I did.
  • @meggyme I can relate to having hate for your job. I sometimes feel like I hate mine too because I just feel like there is no where left for me to move up and my experience in my position isn't relate-able to other positions in my branch. After you move are you wanting to look for a new job?

@sparklingdiamond I feel you. I'm almost numb about it lately because everything at the doctor has been "you're normal" "your husband is normal" yet it's been 13 months/cycles and nothing. At this point I almost just feel like I'm going through the motions. Are you using OPKs? or just temping? What supplements are you taking? If you don't mind me asking.

    Month/Cycle: 13/13

    CD: 17

WAYDTGKU: Ava, OPKs, switching to Pregnitude instead of just the Myo-Inositol. (Pregnitude is double the dose/day and has Folic Acid so I've gone back to regular vitamins instead of prenatals so I'm not over doing the Folic Acid)

R/R: It's finally the weekend! The last week of the month seems to be never ending with my job. So glad it's over!

    CS/Q: nope

GTKY : Ladies, what are you struggling with right now? Please post whether or not you want support or advice. Rule. If you post an answer to this GTKY, you must reach out and support/give advice to one other lady who is struggling with something, based on their stated preference.

I think DH and I are past the point of being excited about trying and were just going through the motions now. I get on here and I fill out the post and I go through my check list: did I sync the Ava, did I take the supplements, should I pee on and OPK today, blah, blah.... Because all the doctors keep saying we're normal healthy people who should have already conceived by now I fee like I'm at a dead end. Still more doctor appointments to come, but I feel like were just throwing darts in a black hole.
  • @thrgirlwhowaited I am using OPKs too.  I had a flashing smiley morning and evening on CD 24.  Flashing smiley on the morning of CD 25 and solid smiley that evening.  Positive cheapie morning and evening on CD 26.  I had watery CM yesterday and sore nipples (which is usually my O sign).  I literally had all the signs of it.  But now I dont really know which temp is accurate for today or if neither is.

I am taking a prenatal, folate (I am taking extra per my doctor), NAC, ovasitol (myo and d-chiro combined), and baby aspirin.

  • @sparklingdiamond Sorry, I forgot we talked about your OPKs yesterday. I'd say there's probably a good chance you ovulated. Since you can't rely on your temps I'd use a cheapie OPK to see if LH has dropped back down and then keep an eye on your CM and just wait to see what your temps are like over the weekend. Does your CM usually dry up or go back to sticky to after O?
  • @thrgirlwhowaited I took one this morning and it was negative at the 5 min mark, but then was positive a few min later.  But I'm counting it as negative since thats what it was at the 5 min mark.  Usually it'll go back to creamy/sticky.  Have you thought about trying the ovasitol?  I was on metformin before and as much as I hate it, I'm wondering if I need to go back on it.

WAYDTGKU: HIO, thinking happy thoughts & sprinkling some fairy dust.

R/R: Rave: It is Friday and a gorgeous one to boot. Tonight is my fiance's fitting appointment at Moore's and I am so excited to see him looking dapper. A suit does a lot for any man. Rant (sort of): This is my last day in WTO. My app says today is the big day I'll be shifting over to the TWW tomorrow. Thank goodness I have wedding stuff to keep my mind off the 14 days that awaiting me.

I am struggling with a little bit of everything: my job, the wedding, TTC. It all mushes together. I have made a few small mistakes that are magnified by my perfectionism. I am trying to organize the perfect low-key wedding on a small budget and just feel like people won't have fun. And well hitting the year mark  for TTC was a huge slap in the face. It isn't one big thing, it is a lot of little things weighing on me.

@meggyme I am sorry you are struggling with your job. When I decided to leave teaching, I made a countdown clock to my last day. It helped me focus and not get too stressed out about what I was doing. I also made a point of focusing on one good thing that happened each day, whether it was a co-worker making me laugh or a kid making me a drawing.

@sparklingdiamond *Hugs* I don't know what to say so I will send you digital love and support. I know some ladies on The Bump found that temping wasn't worth the hassle. Their doctors recommended they stop if it was causing them stress. Maybe talk to your doctor about how reliable temping is in the whole process, if you haven't yet.

@thrgirlwhowaited I am definitely going through the motions. My fiance just keeps saying that it will happen and we shouldn't stress. Not terribly helpful advice, but he is right. We are on the wait list for the fertility clinic so there is not much we can do in the mean time. Unfortunately, I don't have any good advice that isn't on an article somewhere (ex. make it fun, take a weekend away, etc.) Just know that I'm here to listen if you need to vent <3

WAYDTGKU: All the things.  I had my SHG this morning and got some bad news.  My right tube is blocked. :( The good news is that they can see I'll be ovulating from my left ovary this cycle so we do have a shot this time.  If not successful this cycle, they will monitor me next cycle to see which side will be ovulating.  Then, it will be on to the RE to see if they can unblock the right or need to focus treatments on the left.  I'm trying to stay focused on the positive that we have an answer and can move forward with a plan.

    R/R: The above covers that.

CS/Q: Nope, likely O'ing in the next 2-3 days based on the 16mm follie they saw today.

I'm currently struggling to digest the above.  Sorry I'm not going to be helpful to others right now.  :(
  • @sparklingdiamond is needing to temp what is keeping you awake? If that's the case it might be worth the cost for one of the Ava bracelets to get more reliable readings and better sleep.

@thrgirlwhowaited I can completely understand yourfrustration. I hope you get an answer of some kind soon.

@meri-mac just remember that your wedding is about you. Make sure that YOU are having fun. Other people will go to many weddings in their lives, some they will remember, some they will not. But (hopefully) you will only marry your FI once in your life, so make sure that you are going to enjoy the day and remember it fondly, not as a day of stress. That's why I'm always so glad we had a tiny wedding. Literally, our immediate families and whatever friends were available at the base chapel followed by a bbq in our backyard. I wouldn't change a thing.

I kind of took a step backward in taking this job when we moved here (DH is military, so we move a lot). I was doing a lot of higher level stuff, like budgeting, scheduling, writing proposals and giving presentations. This job I'm going onboard ships and telling the sailors they need to replace their fuses. AND it's been so slow for the last few months that I've not had any work. I'm a government contractor and my contracting company, specifically my supervisor, have been really good about trying to sort of groom me for management even though they know there's a chance we could move. But most of my work week is still spent trying to keep myself occupied for 8 hours a day. I'm hoping to be able to stay with my same company if we move (to attempt to build some seniority) but I don't know where we're moving to and if they'll have an office there.

  • I don't have any great advice or something to say that hasn't already been said before. However, I know the day will come when each of you get the BFP you've been waiting for. I will squeal out loud with happiness and do a little happy dance as I read your post on the weekly graduation thread. That's what I like to focus on when I'm feeling really down about TTC. The struggles we go through and have gone through are awful, but they will make that BFP all the more awesome.

I'm struggling with the fact that DH will be gone during FW. Ugh. There's a slim chance that I won't ovulate until he gets back, but it's disheartening nonetheless. We'll BD the 2 or 3 days before he leaves and I'll just have to hope that that works. At least with the OPKs I will know for sure this month when I ovulate.

I’ll jump on board the work sucks right now train. I’m in an awkward position because my bosses are trying to groom me for a new position. It’s the dream job, but it’s absolutely not possible if I get pregnant. So I don’t want to say I’ll take it, but also don’t want to put my career on hold for a baby that may not come soon. I’m not sure what to do.

@Sparty 18 I’m sorry to hear about your blocked tube. It sucks that you will need additional treatment to unblock it, but it sounds like your doctors are being proactive and monitoring you closely. FX the left one gets it done this cycle and it’s a moot point.

R/R: It's too hot in my classroom. My ankles are kankles.

    CS/Q:
SOOOOOO last month I had a cycle that deviated from my normal 28 day cycle, and I missed my O window because I just assumed I Oed at day 14 when I actually Oed around day 23. Looks like it's happening again. Temps are really jagged.

GTKY : Like all, I am struggling with this TTCing. I am beating myself up a lot...I feel like it's all my fault because I am a bigger girl and thinking that maybe that's the reason I can't get KU. Like, if I had taken care of myself, I wouldn't be in this position.
  • @navete If it makes it feel better to get it off your chest and on to the board, then just put it in a spoiler with a trigger warning <3

@meggyme That was the wedding I wanted, but MF has a huge family that he wants to be there. It is hard to through a big wedding when we are less than affluent. Your wedding sounds perfect.

@Sparty18 Don't worry about being helpful to us. This process of support comes in waves. Sometimes you are offering a lot and others aren't then it flips. Take care of you <3

@luckywife10 Thanks for the kind words. They help a lot.

@TJtheGoat Sorry for CD1. It is a tough call for the job. I have come to the philosophy that until there is a BFP, you can't let this process stop you from your life. Easier said than done, I know. I hope you have a revelation soon.
  • @ladylinsey I've had days like that. Maybe if my BMI wasn't so high that maybe I'd already have been KU by now? But there's nothing we can do about the past. All we can do is learn and make better choices for our future. I know first had that losing weight can be difficult, especially since I refuse to do a "quick" fad diet to just drop some pounds. I want to lose the weight and know I'm not going to gain it all back in the first tri just because I'm not following it anymore. I want my weight loss to be more permanent this time.
  • @meggyme Honestly, it very well could be since I am so stressed about this cycle.  I mean I have temped all the time in the past and it's always been helpful for me in pinpointing O and everything.  I have also had random spotting every day the past 5 days which doesn't help.  I just don't like not knowing what's going on.

@Sparty18 I am sorry about the blocked tube :frowning:

@thrgirlwhowaited Do you have PCOS or no?  I'm sorry, I can't remember!
  • @meggyme Forgot to add, I have PCOS so I didn't think the Ava bracelet would work for me?
  • @sparklingdiamond My OB said that I don't by looking at my ovaries on the us I had done a few weeks ago. But the RE said it could still be a possibility and that if the tech wasn't looking for it she could have missed it. But my cycles are between 29-31 days usually sometimes I'll get a random 28 day or 33 day cycle. I think Ava is best for people who have shorter than 35-day cycles because of how they trackers is set up, but if you can interpret the data yourself then I don't see why it wouldn't work. I believe they just raised a bunch of money towards research into the Ava working for women with PCOS.
  • @thrgirlwhowaited just out of curiosity, does the Ava have any birth control functionality? Like is there an app setting where you can tell it to alert you when you’re about to ovulate or after you’re in the clear? I’ve thought that temping/rhythm method would be a nice birth control method, but waking up and temping every morning sounds like more trouble than it’s worth.

@meggyme - your post really stood out to me. As someone who changed jobs almost 6mos ago now, I am SO much happier! I know how much a tough job can drag you down mentally. It's got to be tough knowing you'll be moving soon but a year seems like a long time to be miserable. Any opportunities for temp-type work?
  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

WAYDTGKU: bbt, pnv, opk's, hio, pcos supplements (I try to go by PCOS diet but... bread and cheese...!)

R/R: Rave: I'm starting a new job next school year and am finally getting excited about it! I'm sad to leave my current coworkers, but this new job is a great opportunity for me to eventually teach at the college level (I currently teach high school). It will be a challenge but I'm looking forward to it! Rant: CD 37 and no signs of O...

CS/Q: My temps have been so frustrating lately that I don't even want to look at my chart.

GTKY : Ladies, what are you struggling with right now? I know that we are just starting out, but I'm frustrated that my body doesn't seem to be trying to ovulate. It feels like we're waiting to officially start TTC until I start ovulating.

I'm sorry I've been a little MIA this week. The school year is almost over, so hopefully I can be a little more active in the summer! I can't Bump at work and we are always running out of data, so that really limits when I can take the time to post!

@meggyme I'm sorry that you feel stuck at your current job since you are planning to move so soon! Doesn't make it any easier to get out of bed in the morning when you hate what you do but you have to do it to get by!
@sparkingdiamond I'm sending all the vibes to you and hoping you did finally O and your temps are just off due to lack of sleep! Hopefully you'll get the confirmation you're looking for soon!!
@thrgirlwhowaited I'm sorry that you feel like you're at a dead end! I can totally understand that feeling - especially if doctors keep telling you that you're normal. It would almost be a relief to have an issue that you can focus on and try to fix!
@meri-mac I'm sure your wedding will be perfect! Sometimes weddings get so hyped up that people lose focus of the whole point. I love the idea of laid back and low budget!
@luckywife10 Ugh how frustrating for your H to be gone during FW. It's like there's so many pieces that need to come together while TTC and if even one doesn't have the right timing then a whole cycle feels wasted. *Hugs*
@TJtheGoat I wish you didn't have to worry about deciding between your dream job and the timing of when you might get pregnant. I hope that one day (very soon!) women will be able to pursue their careers and their families just like men are able to without the fear of missing out on one of them.
@navete Hugs to you! Sorry that you are feeling emotional - hopefully your weekend will help you to rest and recharge!

Just popping in to wish you all a wonderful weekend!  :)

@dogmomma271 Thanks for the support! The weekend is kinda full, so it’s nice to have the distractions. Also, I find WTO much more relaxing than TWW...it may be the guilt free drinking lol. When is the school year over? Both my parents were teachers so I know how hectic things get at that time - hope it goes smoothly for you!

@meri-mac Thank you for suggesting the spoiler. I think I was just dealing with hyper AF hormones yesterday. Nothing bad happened, just had an intense reaction. Btw, a low key wedding sounds wonderful! There’s a lot of hype in the wedding industry for big and bold events (vendors want all your money so ofc), but I’ve found the low key weddings to be the most fun and memorable. Your guests will love it and enjoy themselves because it’s a celebration of you two and your union, everything else is just details. ❤️
  • @navete Our school year ends this Friday! Definitely ready for summer. My initial plan for drinking while TTC was to limit drinking to just the first week after AF, but my cycles have been super long and I don’t think I’ve ovulated in months (or at all) so I’ve kind of given up on that plan for now. Boo!
  • Hey everybody, I need a quick chart stalk. I started opk’s on Thursday evening and got one that I thought I just didn’t know how to read, but now I think might have been equal to the control line. Every one since has been progressively lighter. I normally O between CD 17-20 but I think I might have Oed early this cycle. Thoughts?

  • @meggyme I think you may be correct. I would give it one more day and see if FF gives you CHs based on CM.
  • Thanks @nitnat007 go figure, the first cycle I start using opk’s my cycle changes so they’re practically useless in predicting anything.
