lower back and hip when I wake up - body pillow isn't working anymore. Also peeing every 20-30 mins because I'm drinking more water than normal to help flush my body out while taking a higher dose of antibiotics. I"m glad I work at home so I can run easily and not be criticized LOL The toilet paper cost isn't fun!
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
Sleeping sucks. I can't fall asleep and then I struggle to stay asleep. The only comfortable position seems to be laying on my back, but on my u pillow so I'm slightly angled.
I'm not looking forward to sleeping in a hotel for the next few nights.
@sammierose464 Yes sleeping on my back is my only saving grace but its awkward to prop myself up on an angle and I sometimes wake up with a kink in my back. If your hotel bed is comfy you might find it easier to sleep without DH so you can spread out! I find if I'm curled up in a giant C it is comfy but I can't do that with DH in our queen. Plus make sure you take full advantage and order up more pillows and make a giant nest!

@sammierose464 i loved my pillow nest when i was in the hotel for a month! Plus I had a king so i would switch from curled up to sprawled out and it was heaven!! 21w6d I can fall asleep but can't stay asleep.. my upper back is almost always causing me pain, there is no comfortable position anymore, standing, sitting, laying down, it all sucks.. I feel bigger every day!
I slept without my pregnancy pillow last night and on my back. I’m all worried about it but oh god, I slept so good like that. The worst part of pregnancy is not being able to sleep on my back and stomach!
Also, oops. I think I posted in last weeks symptoms thread too. Lol
I'm a stomach sleeper when not pregnant. For some reason with each pregnancy the most comfortable position is on my back. I'm not fighting it but will just keep an eye out for any signs that I should stop.
Similar sleeping issues. Between getting up to pee and being uncomfortable on my side (even with the pillow) it’s really hard to sleep. DH is struggling too since we have a queen and I move around so much.
Recent nice symptom: I usually have mild psoriasis on my elbow which has never been bad enough to require medication but has always made me a bit self conscious. For the first time in a decade it’s just completely gone. So that’s really cool. I think it’s because my immune system isn’t functioning as well lol (its auto immune) but it’s nice for now. Hopefully it doesn’t come back with a vengeance post pregnancy.
@mamabearcj It's ok, I know the struggle. H and I shared a twin while we were young and broke in college! I could never do that again! We have a queen now and H is saying that when we move next year we have to upgrade to a king. I can't wait!
Y'all. I'm just gonna rub this in real quick...Jeff and I upgraded to a king a week and a half ago, and I've never slept so amazingly. He doesn't even notice when I get up 3+ times to pee in the middle of the night. PLUS, my u-shaped pillow has plenty of space...and so do the cats.
ETA: Would recommend Tuft & Needle. It's considerably different than what I've been used to for the last decade or so, but my back is thankful for it. No pain!
Yeah- no way would I share my full with a partner. I love my bed, but I like to roll over and sprawl. If I ever have a partner again, I’ll go back to a king size in a heartbeat.
Symptoms— just baby kicks when I am laying on my left side and paying attention.
My gag reflex isn’t as bad as it was 1st Tri, but occasionally reminds me that it is there.
Still easily exhausted from physical labor, but only need to sit for a few minutes before I have get up and go again.
Also- I want ALL THE SWEET THINGS! I just don’t want more than a bite or two. But I will buy them ALL! And then not eat them. Because I only want a bite or two.
We have a Queen, hoping to upgrade to a King for Christmas!
20+4 +1 to sleeping poorly. I am feeling much better though these days. Less nausea and a bit more energy. I haven't been doing very well with exercising and need to find some motivation! Going to try for a 30 min walk on my lunch break today.
Baby is so low in my pelvis, my lower back aches quite a bit and I always have pressure on my bladder and other things
@rc-cola my joint pain and chronic recurring iritis have taken a lovely vacation during this pregnancy, but yeah, I'm worried about s massive post partum flare up. My rheumatologist isn't worried, but my naturopath is. Sigh.
20w1d, +1 to the frequent overnight potty breaks, and hip pain. Wanted to sleep in this morning but still work up at my normal time because of the sciatic pain. Gah. I swear my body has a 8 hour limit on sleeping. More than 8 hours, I get hip pain, even with the body pillow. I ended up on my back the last 30 minutes or so, but have to watch that because my arms will get a little numb.
@mamabearcj H and I used to share a full size at his place. When we moved in together, I brought my Queen. We thought we’d have SO much room, but we always snuggled out of necessity on the full. Now we wanted to spread out! We quickly upgraded to a king. Lol.
@krzyriver and @SawyerRichardson my OB says that right/left/back/stomach positions during pregnancy are all fine. No need to watch for anything or be concerned, just sleep in a position thats comfortable. She said most people stop back and stomach sleeping in the second tri because its uncomfortable, but sleeping on your back or stomach wont hurt the baby at all, so dont worry about it.
@kiwi2628 sleeping on the back or laying on your back for extended periods of time can cause (hope I am remembering this right) a major blood vessel to be compressed. It isn't an every person thing and even if you are one of those people while you are asleep if that happens you should naturally wake up or move.
@SweetSweetTooth Yes, I think you're remembering right. Typically I get very lightheaded and dizzy when I lay on my back, which is why I'm a little nervous about the fact that I slept all night like that. Hopefully you're right and I would have turned if it was happening last night!
Our bodies are amazing! I’m pretty sure you would have turned over or woke up if you or your baby were in any danger whatsoever. I’ve decided to stop worrying about how I sleep and trust my body to move if it needs to. I have such a hard time sleeping at all much less when I’m worried about how I’m laying! Edit because I think I tagged the wrong people. Oh well
21 weeks and 4 days. Feeling baby move every day more and more and its getting me super excited. I'm having gas and having to hold in it at work sucks... Tmi, my boyfriend felt the baby two days ago, my stomach is big and I'm feeling back pain if I hold my son for too long, I'm exhausted if I dont get the right amount of sleep. Overall ok after last friday.
@MissBridge I second jynjer91, I cramp a lot when I'm dehydrated. With Z I was in and out of the ER a lot because of cramping (I was very high risk so they sent me to the ER for everything just to be safe) and typically all they did was give me a bag of fluids. Drink lots of water and call your OB if it doesn't go away or it gets worse!!
18w6d Feeling pretty good for the most part. I do get the occasional headache still in the afternoon, but a half a cup of coffee seems to help most of the time, or a nap after work. I have been feeling a lot of baby kicks/rolls/flips the last week or so and I love it! I was having trouble sleeping but DH moved the the guest room a couple of nights this week to see if that helped us both and it did! Now I want him back but I don’t at the same time lol (queen bed here for us, wish we could upgrade to a king but we just bought a really nice bedroom set a couple of years ago so it’s not really an option right now).
Lower back pain is back in FULL swing.. I can't even sit to pee without shaking in pain.. it isn't li le stabby or sharp pains either, but it's super intense and consistent in any position I try to sit/lay in )':
@mamabearcj Lady, you need my chiropractor! If you can I’d try to find onewho specializes in prenatal care. Mine took me from barely walking to almost normal in 3 visits
I set a reminder to call mine tomorrow to see if they work on pregnant people, if so I'm making an appt!! If not I'll cry and call my OB to see if they recommend anyone.

on the plus side I got them to diagnose me on my break at work, so I didn’t have to make an appointment with my OB.

+1 for shoulder soreness. I can't lay on my left side because my right shoulder is hurting, which may seem weird but its makes sense.
I miss caffeine so much (i cant seem to stomach coffee or tea still).
Luckily I can finally stand coffee again. I just started drinking it again yesterday and I've felt so much better!
