Re: Symptoms w/o 5/28

  • So much lightning crotch the last two days! I don’t remember getting this with DD until way later on. Anyone else?

I think that might be what I feel. Is it like a sharp pain in your cervix/vagina/rectum? I’ve had some weird pain there...almost feels like gas pain but in the wrong area lol

@lifesabeach85 i’ve felt that earlier this time too, but not severely enough to annoy me yet. now, i’ve been getting a weird twitching sensation to the left of my belly button that feels like baby jabs, but i’m only 14.5w, so that’s impossible. but still, happens every day.

eta— @linz36 for me, my lc feels sharp, like someone is touching a nerve, right in my pelvis. lasts a fraction of a second, but happens 5+ times in a row.
  • Also Team LC here! No other symptoms really but so much LC. To me it feels like someone pressing down on a nerve in my pelvis for just a fraction of a second. Just enough to make me wince and not always the same place.
  • +1 lightening crotch. I was shocked at getting it this early. I didn't have it with DS until after 25 weeks and then he showed up at 29 weeks, so I didn't deal with it very much. Guess little sister is making up for that... Lol

@MouseMama817 ugh, sorry to hear that you were sick this morning. been there with the toothbrush too. since then, haven’t brushed the back of my tongue in weeks. i’m sure my breath smells ah-ma-zing.

and wow for all the advanced planning! we should definitely start a freezer meal thread in due time.

eta- wow i can never spell tongue correctly.
  • Another lightning crotch here. I especially get them at night when laying down. I just started getting in my bun last night too. This is way earlier than last time and besides the pain it just keeps me awake. It can't be baby already, can it?

Lots of pressure and sharp pain (only lasts about 30 seconds) in my lower abs and almost like cramping when I pee and it's been too long.
  •  @bfpafter4years +1 to tons of pressure in lower abs and cramping! Ugh, it’s the worst. I noticed it more over the weekend when it was super hot and wondered if it was due to me not drinking enough water. Or maybe this babe is just hanging out super low and wants to tap dance on my bladder all the time.
  • No pain for me at the moment, but the heartburn is killing me!!!
  • I don't think I'm on team lightening crotch yet, but definitely having RLP! My husband kindly gave me his cold last week so I've been coughing up a storm which of course makes things that much worse.

Question for you ladies. I'd been nauseous off and on throughout the first trimester but nothing too serious. Last week (13 weeks) it's actually ramped up to the point where I threw up on Monday and Saturday. On Saturday, I think it's because I took my prenatal vitamins on an empty stomach on the way out of the house (but I was grabbing breakfast 5 mins later so I thought I could handle it). On Monday, a smell just hit me the wrong way. Does this seem odd? FTM here thinking her body's just weird :)
  • Two words. pregnancy rhinitis. It is awful. Anyone else get this? It’s a constant mucusy drip and cough and it’s driving me nuts.

Otherwise... feeling a lot better nausea wise but I’m not especially hungrier than normal - I thought 2nd trimester was eating all the foods time?

Also, I’m not showing yet (14.5 weeks), and now without the tell tale nausea I feel like I did pre-pregnancy! It’s weird... can’t wait to feel baby movements.

Went to McDonalds while on a road trip to get an ice cream cone and they were out of ice cream. Apparently I'm craving ice cream and emotional because I started crying when they told me
  • @ginny_203 oh no! i hope the coughing subsides soon. yea, it definitely aggravates the rlp. as for the other parts, sounds unfortunately normal to me.

@knottie3342a988c5ca08d6 yes! i had read an article really recently where a woman’s several month long drippy nose was actually her brain fluids leaking out—and i couldn’t help but think (jokingly) that my brain could be leaking too lol. other times my nose is so crazy stuffed up for no other reason, and it usually triggers a headache.

@eahayes awww  <3 my bff used to work at mcdonalds and she told me that she’s had a fair share of pregnant women who cried or threw a fit when they couldn’t get what they wanted. solidarity.

Little bit of lightning crotch here and there but mostly back and butt pain. Possibly sciatica. Also having my arm fall DEAD asleep every night - so painful it wakes me up.

I really want to get a doctor's note saying I need to work from home if this is sciatica. Sitting in an office chair is sooooo bad right now.

  • Sorry about the “knottie” username! I’ve changed it before but am posting from the app and it keeps reverting back?

brain fluid?! That sounds terrifying. Also, lightning crotch sounds like the worst!
  • Sorry about the “knottie” username! I’ve changed it before but am posting from the app and it keeps reverting back?

Have you tried logging out to thebump.com, logging into theknot.com, making sure it's updated on theknot then logging out of theknot.com, and logging back into thebump.com?  I don't remember the reasoning for it, but I know back in my TTGP days that's what someone had to do to get their username to stay updated.  Than again there was a lady whose name all of a sudden changed one day even though she updated it like a month prior   I hope it won't take that long for yours to update!

  • @knottie3342a988c5ca08d6 i’m glad to report that despite how bad it sounds, she’s fine now. good on the doctors who eventually figured it out! https://time.com/5270817/nebraska-woman-cerebrospinal-fluid-leak/
  • @the-lo I have had sciatica with both pregnancies and I will say that this time around is NOTHING compared to my last pregnancy when I was working an office job and sitting at a desk 40 hours a week. I could hardly walk at all. You might be justified in that doctors note...
  • +1 to lightning crotch

@ginny_203 my nausea actually got worse from 12-14 Weeks. My sense of smell was very acute - IS very acute- and it triggers nausea. I was still throwing up until about 2 weeks ago (I’m almost 17 Weeks)
  • the-lothe-lo member
@MouseMama817 ugh! good. I wasn't sure if I was just being a whiner or not! My job can be done from home but I know they don't really like it...We shall see what the doc says tomorrow. Thanks for the reassurance. It's getting worse every day :/

  • @the-lo - my OB said if my sciatica continued she would have me do physical therapy. Mine isn't bad enough for that right now most days and it got better by 18-20 weeks with my son, so I'm hoping that happens this time. Have you looked into any stretches you can do to help?

  • @MouseMama817- I too threw up today while attempting to brush my teeth. It's an almost every day thing for me no matter how carefully I try to avoid it.
  • @ginny_203 with my first pregnancy i had no morning sickness until the 12 week mark, then i was sick multiple times a day and ended up on zofran after a couple weeks for the remainder of the pregnancy and even a few months after. Everyone is different, hope yours goes away quickly and you can get back to enjoying the 2nd trimester.
  • +1 on the sciatica pain and I'm thinking I may have a but of LC but it doesnt sound as severe as some of you ladies. @mockingjay1 stretching is a great idea, I'll have to Google some stretches or ask at my next appointment.
  • I'm 15 weeks today and have felt worse the past couple days than I have all pregnancy!  I'm getting more nauseous now than I have been.  I ordered some probiotics so I'm hoping those will help.

I didn't have an RLP with my first but I think I'm getting it every now and then this time.

  • I'm currently 14w 5d and my symptoms keep doing a disappearing/reappearing act. This weekend I felt great (other than being super tired), then yesterday it was nausea ALL day (and worse than I've ever had it) and a fun headache in the afternoon. Plus I just felt super moody. Today is starting out much the same as yesterday.

@MouseMama817 My gag reflexes have been SO BAD the past couple of weeks. I haven't actually gotten sick, but darn close to it. I just want clean teeth and fresh breath...why does my body hate me? lol

  • Oh! I also have super dry hands, like they're peeling.  And a few months after I had DD, I got this rash under my wedding band and e-ring.  Well that's back now.  I've been putting aquaphor and hydrocortisone on it and that's helping a little but it gets red and itchy and it's annoying not being able to wear my rings!

good idea! I'm going to try some yoga for sciatica.

  • Anyone else with cramping? No bleeding just lower abdominal cramps every now and then. Not sure if my uterus is stretching or if I'm dehydrated. Going to spend today drinking water and keeping my feet up.
  • @jkmartin723 yes, I have been getting cramps too. It’s been upper 80’s-90’s here the last few days so I’m thinking it’s dehydration. Also trying to drink a bunch of water!

I had a decaf coffee today for the first time in a few days, although I normally make it at home and today I got it from our coffee cart so I’m sure it had a bit more caffeine than I’m used to. Now I feel awful! Like first trimester nausea awful. Apparently baby no longer likes coffee!
  • @the-lo prenatal yoga did wonders for my sciatica and back pain in general

  • @firsttimespartanmom ugh... coffee hasn't been my friend is soooo long.  I was able to drink about 1/2 of a cappucino over the weekend which was a first in MONTHS.  I miss enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning.

  • @firsttimespartanmom I'm the same way with coffee. I dont drink a lot, maybe half a cup or so but lately it's been bringing on the nausea. Good luck drinking more water. FX to the cramping starting to ease up.
  • I've been cramping too. I'm 95% sure I just had a braxton hicks contraction. I had the same thing yesterday morning when I woke up. I woke up from my nap (after working all night) on Saturday to my calf spasming (5 mother effing times). I really need to up my water intake.

  • +1 for cramping. It actually just happened briefly while I was eating a turkey sandwich, so of course I freaked out even though I’d zapped the meat in the microwave first. I know listeria doesn’t come on that quickly lol.

For everyone else commiserating about teeth brushing induced vomiting, here’s a new one for you: I threw up again today because I coughed. COUGHED. Then I had to shower because the effort of throwing up made me pee on myself. Mourning my dignity...
  • @mockingjay1 My calf has felt super sore the last couple of days too... I had this around 8-12 weeks and remember being told water and magnesium might help. Everything went away but now almost 4 weeks later its back.. I need to up my water intake too.

@MouseMama817 I had a similar experience... coughed them vomitted which made me pee and had to shower. I was embarrassed and laughing all the same time ha. You're not alone.
  • So this is going to be TMI....

My last appointment the OB said I had a yeast infection (oh joy!). I had been very itchy down there. She said to do the Monostate 3 and it should clear it up. Well it worked for maybe a day then the itchiness came back! What the heck, has anyone experienced this? Could it be something else? Sorry, wanted to post this in the questions thread but can't find a recent one! Also, I am calling the nurse today to see if I can get in to see the doctor.
  • Add me to the puking from tooth brushing team :(  I dunno which is worse, puking or the disgusting taste in my mouth if I don't brush.
