2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?

4. Any appointment updates?

5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):

6. GTKY: any memorial day plans (if you're in the us). If you're outside the us, anything fun going on for your this weekend?

  • @morgantu  Thanks for starting this.  That does sound like a lot of activity (is all that twisting during golf troublesome at this point?), but vacation sounds glorious.

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?

9w5d - still 2 weeks out from next loss milestone...

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

Mild (but constantly there) nausea, fatigued (came home and slept for nearly 3 hours yesterday), impatient ‘cause next appointment isn’t for two and a half weeks...  And still dealing with a cold that added a cough component last Thursday to boot.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?

Trying to stay positive - but will probably be a little more anxious as loss milestone and next appointment get closer.

    4. Any appointment updates?

Nope - still seems like forever away!

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):

I’ll finally have a little work to do for the next few weeks.  It’s low stress but really boring and makes the days really long when I don’t have much to do at work.

    6. GTKY: any memorial day plans (if you're in the us). If you're outside the us, anything fun going on for your this weekend?

No big plans for us - my parents will be in town and they’ve kindly offered to help us install window coverings (we’ve been in this house a year and a half and had no window coverings in our den or the upstairs bedrooms).  Otherwise, we’re doing a hospital tour freakishly early (on Monday), because if there’s anything we don’t like about this hospital, we’d have to switch OBs to one with privileges at the other most likely option.  I suspect it’ll be fine (plus my mom likes that they could walk there) - I’d just rather sort it out sooner than later since I could potentially be all kinds of high risk.

  • @lexidawg I also feel like it's been YEARS of this pregnancy. And with so few people who know, it makes it even harder! Hopefully in a few weeks when we all start sharing a little more, it'll start going faster.

@artemis618 huh, i didn't really think about the twisting during golf.... I'll ask my doc on friday. I'm still first tri though so i think it's prob fine?? like idk. #firsttimemomprobs

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
    12w 3d, past my milestones

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Ok. Still some fatigue and starting to get some headache/dizziness. Cramping here/there.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I thought after seeing the baby at 12 weeks I'd be able to relax, but now I am thinking I won't be able to relax til birth.

    4. Any appointment updates?
Next appt not til June 15th, but I should get my Panorama results on Fri. Really hoping all is well & trying to figure how we want to find out the sex.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Not too much. My son got promoted in Cub Scouts last night and our car won the Pinewood Derby Race! Heading to his school in 2hrs to help with Field Day.

    6. GTKY: any memorial day plans (if you're in the us). If you're outside the us, anything fun going on for your this weekend?

My MIL/FIL put on a music festival this weekend Fri/Sat, so I will have to help my hubby (chef) with a food tent. Not looking forward to standing/working in the heat for 2 days. It makes me crampy/dizzy.
  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
9 weeks! I’m past the point where I learned about my first loss
    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Still don’t really have many. Main issue I’m having is I gag every time I brush my teeth now. I had an easy gag reflex to begin with. Idk if I mentioned this, but I have clear braces (like Invisalign). So I have to brush after everything I eat, and I have to eat frequently because I’m pregnant. Buckets of fun. I hate the taste of toothpaste now. Sometimes I just dry brush because I’m going to have to brush again in 2-3 hours anyway!
    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
So. Much. Better. I still occasionally think “but now it could all go wrong”, but mostly I’ve calmed my brain for now because I just had my u/s on Monday.
    4. Any appointment updates?
Yes, 5/21 I had an u/s and everything looks good! I’ve never seen an alive baby on one. I was surpised by how much it was moving! It’s so weird.
    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Sometimes I think my cat likes me more and then she ignores me for hours. She’s on my lap now, preventing me from making coffee.
    6. GTKY: any memorial day plans (if you're in the us). If you're outside the us, anything fun going on for your this weekend?
Not Memorial Day specific plans, but we are seeing Solo on Friday.
  • @mommythlegend I've been telling myself before every appointment that if it goes well I'll be able to relax, but so far it's usually very short lived.  I feel you on not being able to relax until after baby is born.

@lexidawg I hope everything goes well with your appointment tomorrow!

@Hollyyyyy yay for hearing the heartbeat!  It's the best sound <3

  • @coco2787 I've been having the same issue with puking up the fish oil. I switched to algae DHA pills, and it isn't any better. I asked the OB yesterday, and he suggested keeping the pills in the freezer? I haven't tried it, though, because I'm on so many meds right now, that I have to keep everything in one of those pill organizers with the days on them :| which Doppler did you order?

@maureenmce Congrats on the new job! I'm so happy for you!

@echo-charlietango That watermelon aguas frescas sounds amazing.

  • @coco2787 Sweet, that's the one I was eyeing based on a recommendation as well!
  • @texas_t sounds like a great trip so far! Enjoy :)
  • @texas_t Sorry you're still spotting. That's gotta be a mind F  :/  FX it stops soon.
Hope you're enjoying your trip so far. I am headed to San Jose tomorrow!
  • @texas_t enjoy your trip!! Sorry you're so spotting (and for your loss) I just joined today and I'm catching up. Glad baby b is doing well! Hugs
  • @texas_t Did you make it to Cal Academy?! I’m happy you’re all doing well, and have a great time celebrating YH

@hollyyyyy I was going to give you my favorite SJ coffee shop recommendation, but they either closed or I forgot the name :disappointed: At least you’ll find a lot of Vietnamese coffee shops (if you need that, or a bubble tea). Have fun for me!

@fernsy If you’re going to be writing more grants, you MUST buy this book (in spoiler).

I took a class in grant writing, and we used that book to help write grants for local organizations. I used the same skills and got so. many. scholarships. that I graduated debt free. Best $30 you’ll ever spend if you ever need to ask for money

@echo-charlietango  I might get that book actually. I try to steer clear of areas that aren't mine at work because its very easy to get overloaded, but I am just now trying to find some grant to apply to travel to a conference... so it might be a worthwhile investment. Good for you for graduating debt free!
  • edited May 2018
@fernsy Hm, travel is usually really hard to fund independent of organizational costs (unless you’re in college trying to study abroad), but you might find something! Good luck lady :cookie:

You actually just reminded me, there's a new bubble tea place by my work I've been meaning to try for weeks, but my mush brain keeps forgetting :s
  • @lexidawg congratulations! So happy for graduating and for a great appointment!
  • @lexidawg Yay!!! Congrats on graduating from your RE! What an awesome milestone.❤️
  • @hollyyyyy I'm not from there, but I visited a lot. I used to live closer to Sacramento, but my old bestie lived in San Jose for years and we took turns driving to each others cities  I miss the Bay Area so much, especially the available linguisa

@lexidawg That's amazing!! So happy for you

  • @lexidawg Congratulations! That is such a huge step!

@fernsy That is awesome that you got the grant! Congratulations!

@texas_t I am glad you are getting away. I am sorry that you are still spotting though.

@gingersnap-mama I am so jealous that you can scan yourself at work. I think I will be far less anxious, if I had that perk!

@maureenmce  I can understand you feeling hesitand to announce. PGAL brain sucks!

@tumbleweed-1 I am so glad that you got to see the baby and that all is well!

@morgantu  that is great that your husband is not afraid to set boundaries with his mom.

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
I am 8w and 3 days pregnant, so well past my milestone.
    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
I feel nauseous and have weird cravings and aversions. My boobs are so heavy and I am exhausted and bloated.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I feel better after seeing baby jellybean wiggle around yesterday with a solid heart beat.

    4. Any appointment updates?
My appointment yesterday with the genetic counselor went very well and my ultrasound could not have gone better.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
I am having a major roller coaster of emotions. I am so incredibly grateful that my appointments yesterday went well. However, about two hours before my appointment I have a meeting with my principal and found out that my contact is not been renewed for next year. This messes up all of my plans for maternity leave and I am currently trying to figure out what the heck I’m going to do.

    6. GTKY: any memorial day plans (if you're in the us). If you're outside the us, anything fun going on for your this weekend?
We are going to a cookout and hopefully making some progress on DS’s big boy room.

Question for the group, especially anyone familiar with the state of Texas (Looking at you @texas_t ):
We had been planning a vacation to Austin, Texas and Galveston, Texas to visit my brother and to spend some time at the beach. However, my doctor mentioned that I should look at the Zika information on the CDC website before booking and I am confused. It looks like the entire state of Texas is outlined in purple, but it appears like there was only one case of Zika almost a year ago. Is this something I should be concerned about? I obviously do not want to pose any risk to the baby.  But, I do not want to scrap the whole trip if it is not really a concern, especially since I only get to see my brother a handful of times each year.
  •  1. How far along are you? Any milestones?

12 weeks today and I'm finally seeing a pouch!

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

I've been feeling great for the past 2 weeks now, no more nausea. I still cant eat eggs though :)

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?

I just want to know if I'm having a boy or girl already!

    4. Any appointment updates?

My next appointment is on 05/31, I will be getting the blood test to find out the gender.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):

Aren't husbands annoying! My mood swings have been terrible and my poor husband is now to blame for everything!

    6. GTKY: any memorial day plans (if you're in the us). If you're outside the us, anything fun going on for your this weekend?

We usually go camping but this year we bought the kids a pool for the back yard and we are barbequing(I hope I spelled that right)

  • @mommy1st1512 *waves* I have a question to ask you - please don't be offended. This PGAL thread is for ladies who have suffered a loss before this pregnancy (PGAL is short for PreGnant After Loss). May I ask what your experience was? Earlier versions of the PGAL Check-In included a history question that we've all answered several times to get to know each other.

(If by chance you are not PGAL, there are threads for FTM (first time moms) STM+ (second time moms) plus Ticker change days for each day of the week. Regardless, you are encouraged to read and get to know all of us and let us get to know you too!)

@katy0990 I'm eager to hear what you find out about zika risk. I  googled the CDC map of Zika and am now worried about my planned trip to Mexico. For some reason I thought that was all Caribbean/South America. Ugh. I had organized this trip with my sister's family months ago.
  • Yikes, that little bit of work I got this week means that I feel behind quite quickly!

@morgantu What did your doc say about golfing?  I’m not aware of any restriction per se, just feeling as bloated as I have been twisting sounds somewhat uncomfortable to me at the moment.

@echo-charlietango  I should probably research things to ask before Monday. Mostly because of the maybe high risk, how well they can handle all the things that might go wrong, what level is the NICU, talk to the nurses, etc.

@maureenmce It sounds like we have plenty of time on the hospital tours (unless your OB only has one option, which is why I’m taking a peek so darned early - but also I figured we have an extra day on the weekend).  When I submitted to schedule this tour, the lady tried to defer me till October.  I know I could do classes elsewhere but they’re usually full way earlier (and some say you have to be pre-registered at the hospital?).  Plus, I kind of wanted to keep the momentum going for DH since we went from the weekly RE appointments to having to wait 3.5 for this next one.  Also, the last time I scheduled that hospital tour and had to cancel was more than 20 months ago, so we’re just sort of excited to finally have a reason to do it again.

@fernsy  Ooh, how exciting the prospect of a shiny, new hospital :)

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!!
