Congrats. Sarcasm is my second language. I also have a 3yr old. She is looking forward to being a big sister, we will see how she likes it once baby 2 is here.
Hey all, BFP last week, showed up within seconds of peeing on the stick. Last pregnancy had every sort of complication from the beginning, but we have a very healthy and happy almost 4 -year-old. EDD is 1/19. I recently lost my father and these hormones are not helping the grieving much. I hope and pray my daddy is watching over us and things go more smoothly this time around. Looking forward to having a group of people to share this journey with as the months move along.
Hello! I was on the Dec18 BMB but am joining over here now. My first ultrasound was today and my doctor changed my due date from December 25th to January 2nd!
This will be our second and last child, my daughter was born Aug15. I am looking forward to this journey! Best wishes to everyone
Hello! I am 33 and DH is 44. We just had bloodwork confirm that our recent round of IVF was successful. EDD is Jan. 28. I have one D15 son and am still involved with those mamas on facebook. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Hey everyone! Just got my BFP today! We have been trying for a few months now. I will be a STM, my first LO was born in June 2015(and I was very involved in the J15 BMB). So excited to be a part of Jan 19!!!

Welcome. Let me know if you need anything. I lost my dad when pregnant with my son so I understand exactly where you are coming from. *hugs*

Hi everyone! I lurked off and on during my first pregnancy 2 year ago, but hoping to be more active this time. No official due date yet, but I'm guessing I am about 6ish weeks now and due mid-January.
Hi everyone. I have two daughters, 9 and 19 months. I'm nervous about posting, but I only lurked with my previous pregnancy and really wanted to join in at times. I had a totally thyroidectomy in September and radioactive iodine treatment in December. I wasn't supposed to get pregnant for a year, yet here I am 5 months later and in shock. I see nuclear medicine, and my endocrinologist on Wednesday but my OB can't get me in until June 19th. Hopefully I can get that bumped up. My other two pregnancies were fairly uneventful and smooth so I'm crossing my fingers.
Hello!! I'm a FTW, a little freaked out, a little excited and a whole lot of still processing that it's really happening. I'm 34, my DH is 43, this is my first but my DH has a 23 yr old son who is over the moon excited that he will finally not be the baby anymore. We received our BFP on 5/12 which is also DH's birthday. I dont think it was the bday present he was expecting and we had 60+ people in the house so we both had to act like we weren't hiding a huge secret.
@drabong88 Yes! I started posting after the babies were born and everyone left for the Facebook group. I definitely recognized your name but wasn't sure if it was from my lurking days! Congrats!!
Hi guys! I'm Kattie, and I just turned 25 on the 13th (another Mother's Day birthday this year!). I've read through all the other intros, and as far as I've been able to tell, I'm gonna be the first (maybe only...?) single mom-to-be posting here. I'm kind of hoping I'm taking one for the silently lurking team and that some other pg singles will hop in after I tell my admittedly ridiculous story. So uh, here goes!
Pretty much, from the beginning of March until, well, now, my life has been something of a romantic dramedy, with all its over-the-top poor life decisions and awkwardly bittersweet comedic moments. On March 7th I left the country for the first time ever, planning to spend a month mostly in Spain with a few days here and there in Portugal. Instead, I spent three days in beautifully ancient Évora then I missed a ride, couldn't catch a bus, and somehow ended up staying in that same lovely but maddeningly small town for a month and a half. In that time, I fell spontaneously and annoyingly in love with an older guy who insists he's destined to be lonely his entire life (yep he's one of those). At one point I was nearly positive he got me pregnant and even forced him to talk to me about the possibility before my third home test came back negative and I finally accepted that I must not be pregnant after all.
Fast forward a bit and I'm finally back home in California. I go to the doctor on the 15th to sort out the UTI I know I must have (the constant need to pee was one of my major "pregnancy" symptoms), and hey, guess what? Surprise! On top of the UTI, I AM pregnant after all. I'm still honestly very confused with the timing of the whole thing considering I'd stopped taking BC when I initially thought I was pregnant towards the end of March, so my cycle was waaaay messed up, but until I find out otherwise, I'm 7 weeks today with an EDD of January 8th. My prenatal intake appointment is today, so hopefully I'll be able to get some questions answered and maybe clarify some things!
It's all a bit of a confusing mess and I feel a bit (or a lot) out of place here with my entirely unplanned pregnancy when so many of you have spent years TTC, but honestly I joined this community for the simple reason that unplanned absolutely does not mean unwanted! As my mom said when I was a few thousand miles away from her trying not to be 150% stressed out about the sudden turn my life was taking, "The worst that could happen is a baby, and a baby is the best thing to happen." So messy or not, I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you!
@krose_ , Welcome and congratulations! I hope you find a great support system of women here. I love your mom's advice; she sounds like a great person to have your back.
Me: 29, DH: 31 Married: October 2014 Began TTC: April 2015 BFP #1: 9/18/15. EDD 5/18/16. MC 10/26/15. (9w) BFP #2: 2/27/16. EDD 11/7/16. MC/D&E 4/20/16 (11w) BFP #3: 9/22/16. EDD 5/29/17. DS born 4/24/17 BFP #4: 5/20/18. EDD 1/23/19.
@eleven_ I'm so happy to see you got your BFP!!! I saw your signature on the TTC board and almost screamed at my desk! Your due date is my birthday, gotta be good luck. Congratulations! FX everything goes well.
@krose_ What a crazy story! I'm so glad you shared it, though! I hope you'll find some support in this group and with your family and friends. And congrats! My EDD is also January 8th!
@krose_ Congrats!! That is quite a story. We certainly don’t all have the same path and that just makes life an adventure. Mine is not nearly as exciting as your story, but I do have a twist in that DH is very chronically (but not life threateningly) ill. It makes me nervous about adding a little one to the mix, but I’m so excited anyway! I often spend evenings helping him out (last night I literally had to lift him off the ground and into bed because he couldn’t move, which is no easy feat since he’s 6’2” and has 40 lbs on me) so I know things are going to have to shift and change and I’ll need more support from outside than the average mom. I’m sure you will too, but it sounds like you have a great support system in your mom and hopefully others as well. Hope you have a happy, healthy, and drama free 9 months!
Hi everyone! I’m Brianna ☺️ I’m 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant (conceived 5/4) and due January 25! This is my first. I’m 33 and my husband and I just got married late September. I live in the CA Bay Area. Everything is great so far! I’m so excited and nervous. I have been cramping pretty badly for nearly 2 weeks tho, which seems odd? I’ve also had symptoms for nearly 2 weeks: can’t stop peeing, boobs are on FIRE, and and HUGE, I’ve felt a little nauseous the last few mornings. Also a tad odd that I got a bfp so early - at just 9 days dpo. But I’m sure I’m overthinking! Hope to “meet” some of you!!
Hi Everyone, My name is Jenna and I’m 27 my husband is also 27. I found out I was pregnant on May 12th a day after my father’s funeral. This would be my third pregnancy, I had two losses last year due to type 2 diabetes, I’m hoping this pregnancy is a healthy one. My due date is Jan 18th. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you
Hi I'm Ari and got my BFP on May 13th. Me and my husband have been trying for baby for a while. Last year on May 17th I had a stillbirth and this year in February I had a MC so I'm praying this is going to be the first Jelly Bean to Baby!!!
Hello! I'm 31, husband is 33 and we are expecting our first at the end of January. Currently 4 weeks and 5 days, found out I was pregnant on Mother's Day. We are very excited and anxious, fingers crossed everything goes well this pregnancy. Looking forward to getting to know everyone here!
@briannakrupp my first pregnancy I had a lot of cramping. My ob told me that as long as you are not bleeding and the pain is not just on one side, it is normal. Turned out I had an "irritable uterus" and cramping was just part of the deal for me - I had bh contractions from like 19 wks onward, too.
Hi all! My name is Jamie, and this will be my first baby. We are due January 22nd which, if accurate, is 8 days after my DH’s. My husband is 30, I am 1 month from 30. We got our BFP on my mother’s 67th birthday, so great surprise for her. We had only been trying for two months and I’m terrified that Murphy’s Law will rear his unwanted head. I have Hashimotos and am interested to see how that goes. Thankfully I JUST found a great new Endocrinologist. I’m running on giddiness and excitement since coffee tastes like pennies.
Welcome @lordadmiral ! Are you on synthroid? I'm finding the hour after I take it to be awful now just waiting to eat. I'm seeing my endocrinologist today. Have you seen yours yet since finding out?
@krose_ there are all kinds of mamas out there -- welcome to the Jan '19 board! Looking forward to getting to know you
My wife and I have conceived a babe with my body and frozen donor sperm through IUI, with medication support (clomid, ovidrel, and injections of progesterone) IUI #1, #2, and #3: Dec 2017, Jan 2018, and Feb 2018 - all BFN HSG Test: April 2018 - all clear! IUI #4: April 15/16, 2018 - BFP!! EDD: Jan 7, 2019
Hi, got my BFP on May 12th, EDD is Jan 19th. DH and I are both 30. FTM, here, so I’m overloaded with questions. I’ve been lurking for a bit, and this forum has been a great comfort.
Ran my first marathon in March, hoping to keep the running up as long as I can during this whole process. Any other runners out there?
@molosmiles I am on synthroid. I was also on cytomel but my endo said to stop once I got pregnant. I'll get my levels checked Friday and she'll update from there. I'm trying to get the synthroid in well before breakfast as well, but I love those extra zzzs.
Hello! My name is Krissy from Utah. I had my first appointment yesterday fully expecting a late December due date, but they said I'm measuring behind, so my new due date is January 5th. So here I am! FTM and first pregnancy after four rounds of Clomid and two rounds of Femara. We are pretty thrilled but trying to proceed cauiously since I know it is still early.
I'll probably mostly lurk, but may occasionally post -- hope that is okay.
Holy moly @eleven_ there's ANOTHER Utah mom!!! We're giving NoVA a run for their money. This makes me ridiculously excited. andplusalso, @krissy2241 I don't know if you'll be allowed to just lurk if Eleven and I have any say in it.
@sparkymcgeee haha knowing other Utah moms is definitely motivating to participate! I actually recognize your name (I think) and I definitely recognize @eleven_ from the TTGP board. I was on there for a bit and then had a ttgp meltdown and needed to take a step back. Happy to be back though!
Yay @krissy2241 I totally remember you from TTGP. I was wondering where you went. Glad you are here! And yes, if you stop participating @sparkymcgeee and I will pull you out from the bushes.

Hi my name is Chey from Wichita ks just got my BFP am 5 weeks today and nervous. This will be my second child I haven't scheduled a doctors appointment yet because I want to wait as long as possible because my husband wants to tell everyone as soon as we get the confirmation uh-huh I am a bundle of nerves
Hello everyone! I've been lurking for awhile, and didn't want to post until it felt more 'real', I guess!! I am currently at 6.5 weeks, and super super excited. I am 30, as is my hubbie. It's been a completely crazy month of change, as I am graduating with my MS, turned 30 and got pregnant as well! The graduation seems almost like an afterthought compared to the pregnancy though! When acquaintances say congratulations (referring to graduation) I get so confused (like, how do they KNOW i'm PREGO??). Neither of us have kids, btw.
I'm the kind of person that tends to obsess about things, so I'm already guilty of over-googling everything about pregnancy, and freaking myself out in the process! I am a scientist and obsessively research things every day, and am researching pregnancy more than anything! I'm just waiting for my first OB appointment at 8 weeks to confirm everything is ok, I'm so anxious. It's all completely new to me and out of my comfort zone. Just trying to take it one day at a time...and maybe at least try to minimize the googling. This board has really helped me feel less anxious though and 'normal' about the profound changes going on It's so amazing what our bodies can do, even if it kinda stinks at the moment with fatigue and queasiness and everything else!
So far I have pretty much every common pregnancy symptom, especially fatigue. Naps are the best. Can't wait for the second trimester.
Anyway, so nice to be a part of this board and meet you all
Congrats on the MS @merostomata! What was your degree in? Definitely make sure to take time to reward yourself for the hard work! That sh&t ain't easy.
@mononoke_rose thank you so much It's in biotech! I kinda wish I could have a margarita to celebrate but a pregnancy is even better Just celebrating with naps and tasty food for now!
Hello everyone! Cautiously joining and thought i’d introduce myself. This pregnanancy is a complete surprise! I have a rocky TTC history with recurrent losses so its hard to get too excited yet! So far my blood draws have been good so trying to remain positive. I have a little boy who turned one on Tuesday. I am a stay at home mom and love spending every second of the day with my kiddo! I’m in a May 2017 mom group which is awesome so i’m hoping to meet some new ladies in here! Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Hello Ladies! My name is Danielle, I am 28 and DH is 31. We have 2 children, DS just turned 3 and DD is 20 months. I got my BFP last week, we were not trying so it was a little surprising and not exactly the timing we were hoping for but I am very excited. EDD is Jan. 29 by my LMP. I was part of both the April15 bmb and S16 and am still close with some of the S16 group on Facebook. *TW* I had a couple losses before my son was born so I will feel a lot more at ease once I'm out of the first tri, PGAL brain is rough. *End TW* I look forward to getting to know you ladies and hope we all have healthy uneventful pregnancies.
