low sperm count

hey everyone!
this is my first time writing on any forum, so forgive me, im new to this! my husband and i have been TTC for 3 yrs, and just recently found out he has low sperm count. it did get a little better with clomid, but his overall count is still only 18 million. doctor said we could try IUI but super nervous. just wondering if theres anyone out there who was able to conceive naturally with low sperm in this range.
thanks so much!

Hey @wildflower1717 We also have MFI(low count 5-7 mil and low morp less than 1%) since i'm 37 our RE said IUI would be a waste of time pretty much and moved us straight to IVF.

Not sure how helpful my experience is, since ...*edited*...  we also had to skip IUI and go onto IVF... :/

  • @wildflower1717 Is it 18m total per ejaculate or 18m per milliliter? Have they been able to determine the cause?

This is a pretty good reading because maybe the cause could be something that can be improved upon. Sometimes, it would seem that testing urine could tell whether or not sperm is traveling backwards into the bladder rather than out of the penis.

In any case, if you don't have a female factor, I don't see why iui wouldn't be beneficial. We once had a low count after sperm washing because my husband had a migraine and could only give a low volume sample. I think it was about 8m post wash or something like that. We were told that wasn't a concern.

@bumpadmin This is spam from the same place in Ukraine we had to deal with on the boards last year. Can you please block or ban these spammers? This is actively harmful to women going through infertility.

I've been enduring these spammers for a couple weeks now because I had no energy to deal with them but now that AF had come and I'm gearing up for my IVF#2, I'll join in guarding the threads.

    TO YOU DIRTY SPAMMERS!!!!
