@Holls214 glad your BP went down :/ sucks about the sudden weight gain, that has got to be so uncomfortable. Don't stress about work, they can figure their own things out. It's time to focus on you.

Congratulations @mtpbadger you and your girl are such fighters and inspiring! So glad she is doing well  <3  <3<3
  • Wow I've been busy this week and missed a lot! Congratulations ladies on those precious babies :)

AFM, I am in the process of finishing the nursery. So far it's looking great, but I have to get and build the dressers next... bleh
  • @mtpbadger my goodness! What a story and congratulations on baby girl Abigail Audrey! You did an awesome job!

@aera11 I'm planning on bringing one of my new nursing pillows! I got a boppy and a brest friend and am leaning towards bringing the brest friend with me. I feel like I might have way too much packed, but we don't live too far from the hospital and DH can always leave it in the car if there's too much stuff in the room.

@reesaanne16 Congratulations!! Beautiful name and I'm so glad the labor time was quick!

@holls214 Glad your blood pressure has gone done! Despite the work training, I hope you're able to get some downtime and relax.

AFM, gestational diabetes is kicking my butt. I think I'm doing well and then bam, I get a high number. I haven't gone two straight days without a high blood sugar number -- it's so frustrating. TW in spoiler:
I've dealt with eating disorders in the past so this is tough and all I want to do is binge and not care, but I have to think beyond myself and it's so hard. It's just so incredibly frustrating!

In happier news, my co-workers threw me a shower and it was so sweet. We have our last shower this Sunday that my dad wanted to have with his friends. I'm trying to balance organizing all the gifts and deciding what can be exchanged or returned while not exhausting myself. It's truly pitiful! I have no energy or stamina anymore. 10 minutes of picking things up and moving them around ends up with me starting to feel tight with contractions. And I'm so behind on thank you cards. But really, I just love looking at all the onesies and baby clothes and items. I'm so excited!

DH and I talked about going to the beach with my parents for Memorial Day weekend, but after the baby scare last month, I don't want to be 3 hours away from our hospital. But DH argued that it's been a month since being admitted and maybe things will be okay, and isn't there a hospital over at the beach too? I'll wait to make the decision after I have my growth scan/ultrasound next Tuesday. I'm scared the baby is growing way too big and will have to deliver early. I've already had my transition meetings at work thankfully.

Appointments: Had a prenatal massage last Sunday! I didn't originally plan for it to be on Mother's Day and it just worked out that way. Hoping to take prenatal yoga this Friday, but next ultrasound and OB follow-up appointments are next week on Tuesday.
  • @jr102217 yay for another successful shower nice u have so much to go through!! Just take ur time there's no race!!
GD must be hard what did they say if it gets too high, what to do?
i was quite nervous to have GD as we already have so much to worry about...I was thrilled to get the pass but I should know it's still in the back of my head just because...
please go with ur gut and do what u feel is best for u as far as ur 3hr drive.  Do u really want to go to a hospital and dr ur not familiar with, your husband is ok with that.  I'm too panicked to go on a 45 min drive let alone 3hrs.  My nausea has been coming and going so any long drives are out for me.
i was also concerned about my baby gro JT to much but in my 8minth baby just gained a lb do now I'm right on target or a hair behind but they say normal!! I guess I'll really kno once the baby gets here  :D
Enjoy the massage it sounds heavenly!!

  • Aera11Aera11 member
@TravelingCouple yes! I think this baby hiccups 2-5 times a day, sometimes it's crazy hard hiccups too. I love them but not at 4am.

I'm on my second orange creamsicle of the day. Why not right? I figure I might as well enjoy these last weeks even if there's little body parts pushing on my ribs & lungs haha
  • @Aera11 I definitely had 3 bowls of ice cream today :D

Ice cream & popsicles are my current must have @TravelingCouple! I haven't had many 'must have it right now' cravings but today out of nowhere I needed chick fil a.
  • Oh my gosh now I need ice cream. Headed to Cold Stone shortly. Yum yum.

    @Holls214 how are you feeling??
@Aera11 yes to chick-Fil-a! I never eat it, but I've had it like 5 times this pregnancy.
@TravelingCouple popsicles have been my saviors all pregnancy, they're just a cure-all.
  • I've been all about the sweets myself tonight but ran out of ice cream  :s The nausea killed me all day so finally ate at night and the baby is enjoying it and having a party!

@TravelingCouple my Lil one usually hiccups 2/3x a day I love it!!  Feeling any movement always makes me happy!!

    A couple days late, 35w1d!
  • @Irisheyes81 - welcome to the third trimester!!! I have a similar story to yours - pregnant on the first FET attempt, and pretty good pregnancy (minus some normal symptomps that are manageable).
I think the 36 weeks u/s is the "positioning" one where they check if the baby turned, how placenta is doing, and the amount of the amniotic fluid (I just had one last week).

@mtpbadger - Congratulation on your little girl!!! Welcome to the world, Abigail <3 oh wow, your baby definitely have an exciting birth story! Hope you're recovering well. Sorry to hear that you won't be able to avoid NICU stay, but let's hope it'll be a short one! It's so lovely and reassuring to see a preemy withouth all the breething tubes <3

@Aera11 - Boppy is packed into the hospital bag. I figured that it'd be nice to have an extra pillow anyways :)
And yes for creamsicles! I got the "mango and cream" ones from Trader Joes, and the box was gone in 3 days :) I'm excited that my hospital offers popsicles for labor :D

@safire3 - welcome to the third trimester! I know those lurking scary throught oh-so-well... It's hard to brush them off, and I'm pretty sure we all go through those in some degree. It becomes better as the time goes, delivery date draws closer, and the baby becomes bigger, movements more intence, and so does the re-assurance grows with it too :)

@ReesaAnne16 - Welcome, baby Mae! Your birth story sound trilling!!! 1 hour labor! wow!!! Talking about birthing plans not playing out as expected :) Hope you're recovering well and bonding with your brand new litte one.

#Holls214 - sorry to hear you're gaving BP problems and swelling so crazy! Hope you feel better and bake for a bit longer to bring you little one to term.

@TravelingCouple - yes! baby hiccups A LOT, and quite intence too. A few times during the day, and then pretty much ever evening when I go to bed, and sometimes durign the night. "Flippign the baby" (turning on the other side) sometimes help to calm him down :)

AFM, I'm 37 weeks today, and it feel surreal that I'm in the early full term zone now! I had some contractions and crampting at night last week, so finally packed a hospital bag after that. We still need to install the car seat, hopefully this weekend. And we're also going to "All about baby" class this Saturday to learn how to actually care for the little one :)
I had a positioning u/s last Friday, and baby is head down deep into my pelvic bone (hello pancake bladder and penguin walk!). Since I still measure on the smaller size and don't gain much weight (~10 pounds total), I had another full measuring u/s this week - baby is 34%-ile (about 6lb2oz) with plenty of amniotic fluid around and perfect circulaton). Dr is convinced I'm having a tall skinny baby that does a good job hiding inside my tall torso :) Cervix is still fully closed. He moves a lot, hiccups regularly, and just in general keeps giving me the re-assurance that he's doing well in there <3
Strep B test just came back yesterday, and looks like I tested positive :( Which means IV is inevitable... oh well...
HR confirmed the official date when I can stop working - May 25th (2 weeks before due date)!!! Just one more week! I need the baby to stay put for 2 weeks though, husband doesn't start his leave till June 1st. I'm already mostly working from home anyways, only coming in for occational meetings.
Also, I've been pretty "blah" on food this whole pregnancy, but this last week I'm seriousely hungry all the time! and that's finally with the ability to eat a full meal after the baby dropped. Ate a large dinner last night, then had to get out of bed to munch on more later. I guess babies grow a lot in the final stretch :D

    Congrats @helloworld9!

@Holls214 did you have to do a non-stress stress test? Hopefully baby boy will stay put another week! Don't they say movements do decrease a little since we & baby are running out of room? I literally feel like my skin can't stretch anymore!
  • @Holls214 glad lil man is still cooking! Do u think it's cause ur  cervix measured on the shorter side that ur progressing sooner? Someone is having a May baby :) how r ur contractions? Do they have u on bed rest at this Point? Hope ur taking it easy!!

  • Yeah they are the stress tests. He isn’t getting the peaks he should be while on the monitor. He’s very flat so they are concerned about that. They have to shock him with the machine to get him to have the peaks they need and sometimes even that doesn’t work right away... Your bumps look amazing by the way!
Contractions aren’t regular at all. Had a couple today. I’m officially not supposed to be working but no bed rest that they have said.

@holls214 Do they do an ultrasound to check fluid levels? I'm done with u/s & I'm curious to know how they'd know if my levels were even okay. Well that's good they're monitoring you closely so they can keep watch over him! These babies are keeping us on our toes already!
  • Yeah they do an ultrasound as well every time with the stress test. His fluids are on the okay side, they could be higher they said but are fine for now I guess.
They really are keeping us on our toes. How are you feeling? Hopefully good. I feel like a lot of us are so close now.

That's good they do an ultrasound & it's always nice to actually see the baby.  Mine were lower at my last one too but nothing they were concerned about.  I've heard (no idea if it's true) that IVF babies can have less fluid too.
I feel like it's going to be one born after the next for this group! May & June will be hoppin'!  I actually feel great with the exception of this kid being in my lungs, making it hard to breath if I'm sitting for too long or laying on my back too long.  I thought I was having heartburn again or reflux but it's actually more like my lungs getting smashed.  I go back & forth between wanting to meet this baby soon & wanting to just *try* to enjoy these last weeks of pregnancy. Part of me has no idea if we'll be able to do this again so I'm trying to just enjoy it but it's also hard to think there could be 5-6 more weeks too.
  • I literally couldn’t agree more with you. It’s a weird feeling of being ready but not ready for it to be over quite yet as well. Sorry about the lung stuff. It is definitely harder to breathe these days. Glad you are feeling well otherwise. :)

  • This last few days the breathing has gotten tougher and I'm so itchy WTH!!! I don't understand why! Not using or doing anything new yet I feel like it bothers me most after a shower ugh, don't know!! My MFM did do a blood test to rule out some scary liver disease. Ugh some moments of the day I'm like come on water break let's go!!! And then I'm like let's try to enjoy this last couple of weeks.  It's not easy for sure!!

i think I'm one of the lucky ones as I really still feel some good movement from this lil one!!

Definately not a fan of this itching thing!! And this return of the nausea!  @Holls214 are u still taking diclegis?

  • @Holls214 wow things are progressing! Hoping baby boy stays in there as long as possible
  • Thanks everyone! @Hopeful_mom BF didn't come naturally to me. The first couple of days in the hospital I'm quite sure the latch was shallow and one of my nipples got bruised/cracked pretty badly which hurt a lot. I watched a ton of BF videos when I got home and now I think I'm getting the hang of it. But nipple care for me is a priority because I spend so much time feeding him now. I rub expressed breast milk on my nipples after each feed and also some nipple cream.
