Re: 3rd Trimester Check-in | Week of May 14th

• Mini synopsis in your first post with your EDD- Hi everyone! It feels absolutely surreal to be posting on the third trimester board. My husband and I struggled with infertility (details in spoiler) and were one of the extremely lucky couples to get pregnant our first IVF FET in November 2017. Our baby is due on August 4, 2018

•How many babies you are pregnant with- One

•If you know the gender(s) Baby GIRL. Her name is Kelly :)

•How you have been feeling in your 3rd tri- I am one of the luckiest women in the world because I've had a really easy pregnancy. My biggest 'symptom' has been anxiety after the infertility process. However, everything has been a dream. All I'm dealing with now is sleep issues (heartburn, leg cramps, having to pee, anxiety and asthma) and I'm a constipated human who is even more constipated in pregnancy. I take Metamucil twice a day but plan to talk to my OB at the next appointment and see if I can get a little more help just because it's only going to get worse. It has been the honor and privilege of my life to carry this baby.

•Any upcoming or recent appointments you may have- Next appointment is May 23rd which is an ultrasound! I didn't know I'd have any more after the anatomy scan but because of my age and IVF, I get that one and another at 36 weeks.
• Me: 36 DH: 33

• Me: PCOS DH: Morphology 1%

• IVF August 2017 25 eggs retrieved, 19 mature, 13 fertilized (ICSI), 5 frozen, 3 PGS normal
• FET November 2017 Transferred one 6 day blast (a little GIRL) BFP EDD 8/4/18

• This little lady seems determined to be a May baby!! At the OB waiting to get checked to see if my water broke. Was sitting at home working and felt a small gush and ran to the toilet and since then it hasn’t stopped. Put a heavy pad on and that did nothing on the drive here. Got out of the car and water was legit running down my leg. Such a gross feeling. So either this is the real deal or an extreme case of pee pants, which would be mortifying but funny in its own way! I’m slightly freaking out since I’m only 32w5d and she is measuring a few weeks behind but know stressing isn’t going to do any good at this point. I’ll keep you all updated!
• @mtpbadger popping in from 2nd tri, but just wanted to say I hope everything is ok! <3

Me: 28, DH: 30 Married July 2014 DX: Severe MFI- 3 failed IUI's, IVF #1 Egg retrieval June 4th 2016, 5 day transfer- BFP Baby Boy! EDD 2/25/2017. Our sweet miracle Carter Bennett arrived 2/12/2017 6 lbs, 2 oz 19 inches. <3 Surprise BFP!!! Baby Girl due 10/1/2018.

• @mtpbadger keep us posted!!! Hope everything is okay. These babies just need to stay out for a while longer.
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
• Confirmed water broke and was put on monitor in OBs Office and was having contractions (not too strong but stronger than BH, feels like period cramps). Sent to hospital to be admitted. Of course the one we toured and went to during our other little scare was full so got sent to one further away. Got a steroid shot in OBs Office to help develop lungs. Looks like I’ll be on bedrest in the hospital until this little one decides to come or the Drs decide she needs to come. Hoping they can keep her cooking for a little while longer. This baby seems to be determined to be a May baby!
• And now we’re under a tornado warning!!! This little girl is going to have quite the birth story!!!
• @mtpbadger omg talk about jumping to the head of the class here!! Glad u got the shot and are in good hands!! Hoping the bed rest will help u keep your lil mama cooking!! Best of luck! Hope ur doing ok!! I'd be freaking out for sure!

@Irisheyes81 hey lady welcome aboard!! So exciting to get to 3tri! So glad everything has been going well for u and baby girl!! Constipation is no joke and it hurts! This whole pregnancy I've been on stool softeners 3x a day and Miralax when I need the extra boost! You should try that it totally helps!! No need to suffer that's for sure!! Does tums help with ur heartburn?

• Bed is fairly comfy. Since my water already broke they can’t stop the labor due to risk of infection. Basically wait and see and take it day by day (or hour by hour) at this point. They’re hoping to get me to 34 weeks so baby will definitely be spending time in the nicu but it all depends on contractions and how she tolerates them. I knew there was a chance to deliver early, around 36 weeks, but definitely didn’t except this....water breaking, hospital bed rest, nicu time, etc. I don’t really think it’s all hit me yet and I’m sure when it does and I allow it to, I’ll have a little cry session. I’m just scared and worried about my little girl and want her to be as healthy as possible.
• Welcome to 3rd trimester @Irisheyes81!!
@mtpbadger hope she stays put a little longer!! Thinking of you
• Definitely keep us posted. Are you having regular contractions as well? Sorry you are scared. I’m sure you are in great hands and we are all hear for you.

@mtpbadger we're here thinking of you & only hoping for the healthiest outcome! You're in the right place, thankfully being monitored for anything and everything. Stay strong momma! Please update when you can.

@IrishEyes81 welcome to the third tri! Sorry you're still having anxiety. It's a sucky headspace to be in. I'm currently so hyperfocused and getting ready that I've forgotten to be anxious.
@Holls214 how are you feeling??
• Aera11Aera11 member
Welcome to the third tri @Irisheyes81!

oh my gosh @mtpbadger! Little girl is going to have quite the story for you to share with her. Hopefully she'll stay put a while longer.

afm, still having BH at night but otherwise feeling pretty good! Starting to make a list/pile of things for our hospital bag. Someone told me to bring our boppy, are any of you planning to do that? I have a regular check up tomorrow & I think they'll do the strep test. I tested positive two years ago when I had my *tw* d&c, but I guess there's a chance it could be negative. I also have my shower on Sunday! Things are starting to feel real :)
• @coco305 feeling okay today. Tired and very swollen. Have another US and check up tomorrow after the weekend stuff. So hopefully everything will be good. Keeping busy and everything does help with the anxiety. I keep making lists which I think helps too.
@Aera11 I’m planning on bringing our boppy too. Yay for your shower! How exciting! Hopefully you pass your test. I had mine last week but didn’t hear if I passed or not.

• @mtpbadger glad they're keeping a close eye on you really hoping baby girl can stay in as long as possible!! Now ur job has no choice but to figure it out! At least you know u did all u could!! Good luck we're all here for you!!

@Aera11 awww yay it's shower time have the greatest time ever!!

@Irisheyes81 I started taking colace and then the Kirkland brand at Costco that has 400 so I knew I wasn't running out ;) I still need tums on time of the prescription I've been taking. The heartburn was so outta control mixed with the nausea it was killing me. I wasn't sure it was helping me till I ran out and I felt so much worse through a week and then I realized what it was and got my refill asap!
im excited and terrified all at the same time. I'm 9 months pregnant and I still don't have my bag ready for the hospital so I guess u could say a part of me is still in denial too. I did try to start a registry so that's pretty big for me...nothing will be bought till after the baby is born I guess why I feel like I still have time...I don't know. I do have so much to do and all I care about is feeling this baby dance in my belly!!

@Holls214 I didn't want to bring more than necessary but everyone says to bring it! Have you started to pack your bag yet?

@Hopeful_mom thanks lady! I can't believe I didn't want to have one haha, it's been fun having baby things show up. I'm finally feeling like I'll have a take-home-baby; which I know at 35 weeks sounds insane but that small voice of loss + infertility is probably always going to be there. How about you? Did you decide to have one? I'm also struggling with what clothes to wash & put away since I have boy & girl stuff.
• @Aera11 u exactly nailed my feelings on the take home baby, I'm literally gonna be 37wks in a day and I'm still in disbelief. We've been at this for so long I still find it hard to believe that it's ok and gonna happen.
No shower for me just couldn't give in to it, we'll do something after the baby arrives...so I probably need to work on the registry ;). I'm even making a list for my bag...let's hope I get it packed before my water breaks :D hope ur BH isn't too painful! And I have some gender neutral stuff from a friend so I'll have a Lil something when the time comes :)

• @mtpbadger Congratulations on your sweet little girl! I know she came sooner than you expected. Praying for her to do great in the NICU so she doesn't have to stay too long and you get to bring her home sooner than later <3 I'm so glad you both are doing well, sounds like a whirlwind of a night! Sounds like you are also in great care, both of you. I'm sure it's surreal having her outside of your body rather than in! I hope you get to see her again today. Congrats to you and your DH! :)

• @mtpbadger what a whirlwind. Congrats on little baby Abigail. Love the name. :) So happy to hear that you and her are doing well.
It sounds like you have a great team of support around you. Keep us posted and would love to see a picture. Get some rest.

@mtbadger sounds like you are on a rollercoaster. I’m sure this is a lot to take in, I’m so glad you are safe in the hospital and being well cared for and had the steroid shot and were able to hold your precious baby girl before she had to go off to the NICU. Babies born at this stage do very very well breathing on her own and wiggling is such a good sign. It’s only a matter of time before little Abigail will be home with you (PS Love the name !). I’ll be sending prayers to all of you especially your sweet little one to grow strong. Congratulations on your miracle!

Wow what a whirlwind @mtpbadger! Congrats on your precious baby girl! So happy you and your little one are doing well. It awesome that she is not even on oxygen. I bet she will be out of the nicu and home with you in no time.

Hello all, I’m finally making my way over here after leaving 2nd tri a couple weeks ago. Been so busy with work and finally getting things ready for this baby.

•Mini synopsis in your first post with your EDD - Due 7/23 after doing IVF and first FET in November due to MFI

•How many babies you are pregnant with - One. Hats off to you moms carrying more than one!

•If you know the gender(s) - Boy!

•How you have been feeling in your 3rd tri - like many of you I’m just trying to believe we may actually be taking home a baby soon. Finally started working on the nursery and my shower is in a few weeks. Starting to receive gifts from my registry makes me so nervous. For some reason I immediately think what will I do if *TW* all these people have spent all this money and there is no baby for whatever reason. Trying to shake myself out of that thinking and be positive but don’t think I will fully relax until he is in my arms.

•Any upcoming or recent appointments you may have- Saw OB today and got TDaP. Really waiting for my next appt with the MFM on June 5th to see if I will really require an early c-section due to placenta previa.

• Congrats @ReesaAnne16 as well. Love the beautiful pictures you both shared! :)

Welp ladies I may or may not be next. Got to the doctor today and had high blood pressure reading and had gained 8 pounds in 3 days. I’m incredibly swollen. Got the babes monitored and he wasn’t really cooperative. Might have to get induced at 37 weeks which is a week and 2 days from today if things don’t change or we don’t go into labor before. Thankfully blood pressure went down so I could go home today. Ahhhhh. Doctor said I should be done working but I was supposed to train my staff today and tomorrow.

Glad you got to go home @Holls214, hopefully you can take it easy from here on out. Are you training staff from home or did you need to go in? I know you've been working from home.

• Oh wow! Congratulations @mtpbadger I'm sure it had its scary moments, but what a relief, she is here, and feisty and strong! What a beautiful little gift and FIGHTER you've got on your hands there! She's all, "Look out world, I'm coming for ya!" :D
• Thanks ladies! I am so in love with her. And DH will get to do skin to skin with her later tonight which will be husband first time holding her and I legit might die bc I won’t be able to handle it

Have to pump every two hours and man my nips are already sore!! My milk hasn’t coming in yet but since I delivered early, they want to get my body used to it and hopefully start the hormones sooner. So pumping and nothing coming out is not my way of fun to spend 15 min right now. Also, No one warns you that when you bump or BF, your uterus starts contacting!!! Ugh. I thought I was done with contractions!!!

The hospitals ice pack pads are AMAZING!! Seriously don’t know how I would have gotten thru today without them! I also sent DH out to buy me a hands free pumping bra - lifesaver with as much as I will have to pump. And the hospital sent a referral to my insurance for a hospital grade pump and they approved it! Whooo!! Hopefully Abigail will get to start drinking breast milk soon!

@Holls214 Glad your BP went down. Try to take it easy from here on out!
