19 weeks now, will be 20 weeks on Thursday and have my anatomy scan on Wednesday! I'm excited! It'll be the first time hubby gets to see baby boy in action. I've obviously been sending him pictures of the ultrasound pics but it's not the same as hearing the heartbeat and actually seeing little dude move around in real time. No questions or concerns at this time, just excitement
Yay @stothi! So glad DH can be there for the AS and he didn’t miss it!
I have a regular old 23 week checkup on Wednesday. Somehow I got put on odd week checkups. I actually hate going because it takes so long for my office to get you into a room, only for a five minute visit for fundal height and Doppler check. I mean, the Doppler is nice but now that I feel LO moving, I’m not as dependent on that to know they are doing ok in there. Hopefully I'm not there forever!
22+3 today, had a midwife appointment yesterday at home because she was in the area. She thinks my decreased movement feeling weeks 19-21 could definitely be placenta shifting upwards, so we're all crossing our fingers to get better news next week when they check back on the scan.
Starting to talk about whether we'll need pelvic rest for third trimester with history of pre term labor. As I've only had a couple of contractions so far, we're tentatively not worried. Just need to make sure that placenta gets off cervix and scar.

MW appointment went well! We met with a third MW who is covering vacation leave for one of my primary midwives. She was great as well. She did a fundal height measurement for the first time and I'm measuring right at 23w (I'm 22+6 today). The HB was good and she confirmed that there was nothing abnormal on the AS.

Heading in tomorrow for a regular checkup. Had the anatomy scan last week so hopefully everything looked good! Our baby boy is measuring ahead and even gave us a little wave! Just the cutest thing
yay! Cheers to a great appointment, @starla! <img alt="Image result for cheers gif" src="https://media.giphy.com/media/l0Iy1GToQXyqfDeSY/source.gif" width="676" height="367">
@stothi glad your H gets to be there, especially for the AS appointment!
@pourmeamocktail well that is definitely a good reason to not feel as much movement. I hope that is the reason and the placenta will keep making its way up.
@Wishilivedinflorida I understand what you mean. The drive to my dr is 30 minutes they are pretty fast, but an hour round trip for 15-20 minutes in the Drs office seems silly.
GL at your checkups today @lilidubs and @Wishilivedinflorida and AS @stothi !!! <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/dr/be1xfehhs86f.gif" alt="">
Anatomy scan was good! Buddy was so wiggly that it was hard to get everything but they eventually did. The tech stepped out at one point to bring in the MFM doc cause she though she saw a hole in buddy's heart. At one point the doc said he didn't see a hole but that it didn't look like things were connected correctly- totally not what you want to hear, but by the end of it they got some good angles and said everything was perfectly a-ok. All other measurements looked good
I was actually happy that they talked back and forth out loud while they looked at buddy's heart instead of making me wait in silence in the dark. For me them openly and calmly discussing it was appreciated.
They want to see me back at the beginning of 3rd tri cause I'm old and they want to monitor baby's growth, but all is good for now.
Oh, also, we got the cutest 3d picture of his tiny little perfect hand Those little hands make my heart melt. No great pics of his face but his ears were also really cute, lol.
Oh, and I guess my placenta has shifted to the side and is now a lateral placenta. It's off to the left, baby is head down basically straight in the middle and his feet are to the right. Which makes perfect sense to me cause I really only feel movement off on that right hand side where his feet are. His cord isn't attached in the middle of the placenta and I only know because I specifically asked. It's off to the side a bit but not enough that they would have mentioned it on their own. For about a week or so now I've been feeling definite movement and it was so fun to see him kick on the screen at the same time I felt it. Once though he did this crazy running motion and that did NOT feel good. At all. Also sometimes the tech would push on a certain spot and it actually hurt. Like actual pain not discomfort. It was strange and not something I've experienced in an ultrasound before.
I totally forgot to say I had an appt today. It was a regular ob check in,woulda been 5 min but I had dh and dd w me and the ob was chatty. Super cute moment- ob handed dd the dooler wand to find the heartbeat. Super uncool moment- they couldn’t find it right away and had to basically hold baby in place on one side and push the doppler in on the other. Which kinda hurt, but all was good so whatever.
Scheded the hospital tour for mid july. Debating whether to take dd along or find a new sitter by then...

Thanks @BusinessWife! It went really well today, doc said that scans from last week looked great and that so far my pregnancy is looking perfect! Very low risk pregnancy and they're happy my boy is super active, although I feel like he can stop hanging out on my bladder been a week of bouncing hardcore on it!
Appointment went good today! Question, does anyone else's doctor do a transvaginal ultrasound around 25 weeks? The nurse said all patients in the practice do it to see chances of preterm labor? I just didn't have it with my daughter five years ago so I'm curious.
@jessicag85 I had mine as part of my anatomy scan, and will probably have one with each scan I get to check on placenta (placement concerns here!), but, my first was a preemie, so they want to check and make sure cervix is not shortening.

@pourmeamocktail Thanks! I was surprised cause I'm not high risk. My DD was born at 39+3, no problems this pregnancy except some early spotting. But I know things change in 5 years, plus differences with each practice.
@BusinessWife Just now caught up on this thread. All was well and I was quickly in and out of the appointment for once!
@stothi I’m glad your AS went well and they were extra careful about the heart stuff. As for the pain, I’ve had a terribly painful spot over my right abdomen that has hurt so badly for every US. They said it’s probably a sensitive ligament and the tech always feels bad when they hit it. Probably because I forcefully, though involuntarily, slap the probe away!
Ditto @pourmeamocktail, I had a transvaginal with my AS to check placenta placement, and now I'll have another at 28w because I did have a marginal placenta previa
Had my a/s yesterday. Baby is definitely still a boy (not that I ever doubted the Harmony results, lol) and overall is looking good. So cool to be able to pick out all 10 fingers and toes.
After my scan I had a standard check-up and the OB mentioned the u/s showed 1 soft marker for Downs but the next step would have been additional testing and since I had already done Harmony with good results there was nothing else we needed to do. At the time I thought she was referring back to my first tri bloodwork so I didn't ask any more questions but talking with MH on the way home made me realize she was referring to something in the u/s and I wish I had asked which marker. I'm not too worried because I already have the good Harmony results, but it sucks to have something else come up after the worry from my 1st tri bloodwork already.
The other thing we'll have to watch for is my placenta is currently low lying, less than the 2cm required away from my cervix. I'll have a follow-up u/s at 28 weeks (and again at 32 if necessary) to see if it has moved. They determined this from an abdominal u/s so now I'm wondering if I'm going to have to do a transvaginal when I go back. Fingers crossed that it gets out of the way!

Follow-up ultrasound Wednesday because of my hypothyroid. All was well, baby is measuring ahead of schedule (22+5 pregnant, weight more typical of 25 weeks at least according the Bump's weekly averages) and healthy. Also got results of an eye exam because of high risk of retinal detachment; doctor said I don't have to have a precautionary Caesarean, so yay!
Tuesday is my monthly midwife appointment. Crossing fingers for another good one!
@DanyTargaryen Sorry that you have 1 more thing to worry about. I’m so glad that you already had the good Harmony results. I hope this turns out to be nothing.
And, there are now a bunch of us with placentas that need to move up! I’m getting checked for that again at 28 weeks. My doctor did not do a transvaginal u/s at the Anatomy Scan. So, maybe they will at 28 weeks???

She offered a recheck at 28 weeks (with a 32 week follow-up if necessary) or to just wait and check at 32 weeks. Um...that's easy. I think I'll take the sooner check TYVM!!

My doctor looked at placenta and its entirely with abdominal, the vaginal was only to double check cervix length for me. @magnolia209 You may be able to avoid that probe if they only want to check placenta placement!

My AS was 100% abdominal, but he saw that my placenta was also totally out of the way, so... I'm not sure what would have happened if it appeared otherwise. :#
23 weeks this week. I only had a regular OB appointment this week. Everything looking really good. Preparing for my Glucose Tolerence test next OB visit.
I feel like I am totally unfazed by transvaginal ultrasounds now... thanks IVF.
I'm mostly eh, whatever about them. Except for that last time when the tech tried to pull a South Park and give me an anal probe... That's not where the baby is.
@adirat yeah... She was going in blind. I don't know if she was trying to preserve my dignity or what but all I could think was, "just look! It's just a vagina, I'm sure you've seen one before." I have average anatomy. It's not like stuff was moved around down there.
I had my A/S today, and baby girl was not cooperative at all! She remained in a little ball the whole time. They got some measurements and missed other completely, so back we go in two weeks! The tech even commented that little girl was one of the most difficult ones she’s encountered. Plus side, she saw no issues or red flags but still needs are the measurements and pictures to confirm.
Big surprise is that I have an anterior placenta. I had no clue! I’ve felt this baby earlier and stronger then DD, so I just assumed placenta was different.
Then I saw my dr for my normal 20 exam and all was good! No more sleeping on my back which is annoying... I’ve slept sooo well on my back since DH bought us both these awesome pillows. All lower back pain disappeared literally over night. Oh well.
@adirat idk if I'm a bit of a prude, or what. But I could not be done with those things soon enough! My own RE was one thing, but one of the other female doctors I remember feeling a little rough, actually, and another (cute, young) male doctor always made me blush! l do not think I would have felt comfortable with Terry the Tech at my Ob's office having to do a tv... :# much as we like the guy. I'm not really sure he's set up for that, tbh, either. I would think even if they were, he might be calling in a midwife at that point... I wonder. It's always just been him, me, and H in the room (no other females). It would just feel too awkward, imho, but I agree it just becomes so old hat when you're at the RE. :/
@businesswife The first transvaginal ultrasound I was a little worried but honestly once it became clear we were going to require intervention to have a baby I was like "OK this is the cost of a baby for me" and I got over it. I was also fortunate that everyone at my RE's office was always super conscientious and gentle so I never had a problem. At my OB's, it's all ladies so that may help.
19+6 I had my one US on Friday. Baby was all over the place which made me happy. I think I may have an anterior placenta, so I don't feel LO much at all. So the reassurance was good. The US tech would not tell me the sex of the baby (not allowed where I live) but will write it in the report he sends to my OB. They get it in 2-3 business days so I will be calling a lot to see if they know.
