@PMForbie Oh no! Are you able to get any medication in the time being? I hope you get the paperwork ASAP so you can be insured again. @MojieJo Congratulations to your husband! What an amazing accomplishment for him. Is he so happy? @mockingjay1 Our trip was great, thanks for asking! My sister hadn't seen my daughter in almost 2 years, so it was wonderful watching them bond and have fun together. I also got to spend some quality time with my nephews which was great. We've missed them so much! Is your son feeling any better today?
He doesn't think he can handle the job (he has bad self esteem) and that it's going to be a disaster, but his boss has been grooming him for this position for a couple of years now and I'm positive he can do it.
@booksandcoffee it's ridiculous how excited I get at bedtime! It's my favorite time of day

Someone make me feel better about screen time. My husband has been out of town for two days. My toddler decided to wake up at 5:30am this morning. It’s in the 40s and rainy. Lots of Sesame Street happening today at my house. Normally I don’t mind letting him watch an episode a day, but when the weather sucks or he’s sick, I definitely resort to more TV time. I feel so guilty about this, and I feel like I shouldn’t.
@BabyBoyH92016 I feel guilty about too much screen time sometimes too, but on rainy or cold days, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. A lot of kids shows now are really smart and teach kids good skills. I love hearing DD sing along with the songs and pretend she's a character in the show. Sometimes a lazy TV day can be good for the soul!
@BabyBoyH92016 You are pregnant. Enjoy the day, relax, your toddler will be fine. One day, or two, or even a month of increased screen time will not detrimentaly hurt him. If you're super worried make it educational shows. Or give him some crayons and paper to color while watching.
Eta: just reread and saw it's Sesame Street... Pfft giiiirrrllll.... Calm down. No mom guilt allowed.

@BabyBoyH92016 - I agree with PPs, no guilt lady! @offtoneverland - yes the cough is mostly gone! @PMForbie - I'm glad they found the problem, but I'm sorry you can't get medication right now. I hope HR fixes their mistake and you can get on your DH's insurance soon. I am going to ask my OB to test my thyroid levels when I'm there in a couple weeks because I've been losing a lot of hair and not sleeping well too. Even my hair dresser commented on how much thinner my hair was since last time I saw her (11 weeks prior).

Does anyone else feel like the board has been super quite this week and last? Where did everybody go?
I was definitely quiet... I too felt off and just blah but was recovering from the stomach flu in addition to MS. Hoping to be more active now that I'm starting to feel better.
Hugs to everyone, hope everyone starts feeling better .
Has anyone thought of who will be in the delivery room with you? First time around I had DH of course but also my bff. She took all the picture. This time I was just going to have DH and me but then I started thinking about pictures because I cherish those.

With DS it was just me and DH. DH took a video of DS being born (c-section so it's not like he had to help hold a leg or anything). This time around I'm hoping we can afford a birth photographer. I also want fresh 48 pics and newborn pics which is all pricey so we'll see.

For us, the only people in the room other than the medical staff are people who were present at conception (aka myself and MH) but a big part of that is wanting to privately enjoy those first moments with our new child.
@bfpafter4years - I have no idea who to have in there. I know my DH for sure but I'm debating about my Mom & MIL. Has anyone else had their moms present during a birth?
I'm thinking it'll probably just be me and MH in delivery. I can imagine it be super awesome to have someone there to snap a few photos but I dunno... I'd consider my mom, but then I'd have to let MIL which is a big ole hell to the eff no. Maybe my sister if she's cool with it? But we're not super close... Only other person I could think of is my friend... I dunno... Not worrying about it now lmao

I had DH and our doula plus one nurse and the doc at the very end. I do have some pics of us immediately after DD was placed on my chest and tbh I have no idea who took them - the doula or the nurse I guess?
Childbirth can get a bit, er, undignified, so don’t have anyone in the room who you feel modest around. There’s a lot of different bodily fluids that come out of you.
My sister had our mom in the room with her first, and they both regretted it. It just made my sis feel stressed out and my mom worried/anxious.
No one other then my H. I’m considering getting a doula this time around, so that would be the only other person I’d allow. As @lifesabeach85 put it...”undignified” is a good way to describe childbirth. I personally don’t have that kind of relationship with my mom or mil.
I agree that I don't want anyone but H in the delivery room. With my first, I thought I'd want my mom there too, but H wanted it to be just us, and I was happy he helped make that decision. It's not like in the movies where you have a sheet hanging over you...all of you is just out for everyone to see and it's very weird. I'm not super modest around my mom anyways, but I still would have felt weird with her in there. I definitely DO NOT want any pictures of me taken while I'm in labor/birthing a baby. No thank you. We got pictures taken afterward, when I was more cleaned up and feeling calmer. I have no regrets about not getting any pictures taken during/immediately afterward.
@offtoneverland +1 to having ZERO desire for any pictures during labor/delivery! No freaking thank you!!! I’m fine with fresh baby and mom/baby pics after delivery once DH can take a few. I don’t need how I look during labor documented forever! Nope nope nope.
Ok I guess I don't really want pics DURING labor. Maybe like a pre-labor and then once LO shows up photo lmao. But no mid-push/contraction/threatening to murder MH pics that's just... awkward.

My best friend's coworker returned from maternity leave and showed off pictures of baby crowning. Like she was literally showing pictures of her vagina/baby's head to her coworkers. Awkwaaaaaard.
@lurvleybunchococonuts I want pictures right as baby arrives but from the front end. I want it photographed when DH announces what sex our final baby is, my reaction to that and the moment baby is first on my chest. That is hands down the most incredible moment in all the world and I don’t trust my 30-something year old brain to remember it this third time. I’m hoping I have the feeling etched in forever from DD and DS, but I want this one captured. It’s our last and I want to treasure those moments.
All my pictures are from immediately after the birth. The first reactions to seeing her. Those are the ones I love. I am not sure I could count on DH to remember to take them! Lol! Also, then I get none with him either. But Iam going to second no parents, sisters, or brothers, no thank you! They can visit afterwards.
We will have our oldest joining us in the delivery room possibly... she'll be eight. It is allowed at our hospital as long as DH is with her at all times. It's our last, and I want my daughter to see how it's all done and to experience seeing her sibling take their first breath. She's had so many questions... so I'll just have her at my head. DH will go home shortly afterwards to be with our kids, as we have to have a sitter to watch our youngest. I'm selfishly enjoying the fact that since we're overseas, I'll get lots of alone time with this baby in the hospital and for those first few weeks. I'm going to politely tell anyone who is even thinking of visiting before Christmas: NO! I'm greedy with my newborn babies
@josie12367 - so lucky to be abroad! Don't they give a good maternity leave for your husband as well? And definitely a good idea for no visitors in the beginning
The first time I had DH and a friend of mine in the room who was our photographer and it will probably (hopefully) be the same this time. She was at my head when DD came out and they're some cool shots. I did have a mirror though and I just realized the other day that she blurred it out! Lol!
Separate random, my giant uterus is already jammed into my ribcage and it's so not comfortable.
Good God, my twins just woke up from an almost three hour long nap that they took laying on top of me. I was so wet with their (and probably my) sweat I had to change my pants and their clothes.
And now my uterus is sore from them laying on me for so long.
