-thursday morning -12w exactly -nt scan with the mfm group and then risk consultation depending on the placenta/sac situation of the twins. -i can’t remember if the nt scan was transvaginal or transabdominal; can others tell me what theirs did for their nt scans?
What is being addressed? Genetic screen and first of several glucose tests.
Comments/questions/concerns: I was surprised by how many glucose tests I have to do because I’m pregnant with twins. I don’t mine the drink, but they gave me the worst flavor (orange).
@highsteaks, just had my NT done and it was an abdominal us, not sure if that's how it is for everyone but that's how it was for me. Good luck.
When is your appointment? Friday 5/11
How far along will you be? 12 weeks 5 days
What is being addressed? I think just a regular check up,I may talk with them about adding a midwife to my care. Comments/questions/concerns: Concerned about some large cysts they found on my ovary, hoping the OB will have some answers.
@highsteaks mine was abdominal last pregnancy. I'd assume if they absolutely cannot get a clean measurement that way they could always switch to transvaginal but in all likelihood it'll be abdominal from here on out.
@middleschoolmommy thanks for responding. that stinks. the mfm group wouldn’t schedule a nt scan earlier than 12w, which i thought was strange because the window (i think) is 10-13w. now i wonder if they wait til 12w because a transabdominal is more likely to be sufficient. maybe?
@highsteaks, mine was completed at 11w 6days and they said the baby has to be at a certain measurement for the test to go through? I was right on the borderline cause LO seems to be on the smaller end. I wonder if that's why they like to do it at 12w?
When is your appointment? Tuesday 5/8 How far along will you be? 12w1d What is being addressed? NT scan and more peeing in a cup! Comments/questions/concerns: Just have had a bad gut feeling the last couple days ... really hoping and praying to be proved wrong! Its been six weeks since I've seen my lo i need that peace of mind!
What is being addressed? Honestly I'm not sure. I think just a basic checkup? Probably going over the NT scan results.
Comments/questions/concerns: No, just anxious to hear baby's heartbeat again!

This is my last appointment at my RE. We will do one last US. I am really not sure what else we will go over. I am sure we will talk about my blood pressure again.
Comments/questions/concerns:
I am a little concerned that only my left foot and ankle is swelling already. Not sure what that means. I will talk to them about how I am going to get my NIPT results if I am no l ok nger going there.
What is being addressed? I'm going to do the NIPT and other bloodwork and just have a consult with the doctor. *TW* I had a scan last week that showed baby measuring a couple of days behind where we'd hoped they'd be. I've been trying not to let it bother me because I know this happens all the time but had a nightmare last night that I was bleeding so it's clearly really been bothering me. I hope to be able to talk my OBGYN into doing a scan to help to ease my anxiety.
Comments/questions/concerns: Really hoping everything goes well today...
@ginny_203 fx'd for a great appointment! My little girl was measuring 2 days behind during week 9 or 10, but she measured right on track during my NT scan. I was told that being off 5 days or less can be completely normal.
When is your appointment? It was yesterday, but my day was so crazy I didn't get a moment to post.
How far along will you be? I was 10w6d
What is being addressed? It was my MFM appt. She reviewed my blood pressure history and I did the NIPT test.
Comments/questions/concerns: This may be TMI for some...
I have a blood clot between my cervix and uterus and was put on pelvic rest (no intercourse). I believe it was the result of an ultrasound tech that was a bit aggressive. I was hoping to find out if it had resolved itself. She said she couldn't tell me because I wasn't scheduled for an ultrasound. My next one will be at 16 or 18 weeks. :'( She was really sweet when she saw the concern on my face and asked more questions. Since I'm not seeing any more fragments of the blood clot we were released conditionally. Does anyone have/or has had to deal with a blood clot like this? It's beyond scary!!!
@Amber1174 was it a subchorionic hematoma or something different? I had an SCH, it was small enough that I wasn’t put on pelvic rest but I did have a pretty large bleed from it. They think it’s gone now but I haven’t had an ultrasound to confirm and won’t until my anatomy scan. I understand that it can be scary! I haven’t had bleeding since about week 10. Fingers crossed yours resolved itself too!
@firsttimespartanmom I'm honestly not sure if it was a subchorionic hematoma, but from the readings, it could have been. I had a large bleed from it as well. So glad I am not having any bleeding now. Thanks for the encouragement. Spotting is so scary! I didn't worry about have of the things I worry with now when I had my other children. One of the benefits of being so young!
Saw the baby today. It did a little flip and was swimming around. Last time we saw the babe I was only 7w, so it was really nice to see that everything was ok. My symptoms this pregnancy have been extremely mild and pretty much non-exist now (sorry to those of you suffering more). As nice as that sounds, it has made me extremely anxious.
Comments/questions/concerns: My doctor is keeping my due date based on my last period. My first ultrasound I was a few days behind and this time I was a few days ahead. She said unless there is a week difference they won’t change the due date. My first pregnancy my due date was based off of my first ultrasound, so this is new to me.
Mommy and baby are just fine after our appointment My OBGYN said the insurance wouldn't pay for another full ultrasound, but she wheeled in a mobile ultrasound machine. The resolution wasn't the greatest, but it was enough for me to see a nice big baby in there with a beautiful heartbeat. So grateful she did that, and that everything is ok! Thanks everyone for your well wishes.
-I had my appointment Monday 5/7. - I was 12w+1 - First Ultasound, was very excited to see baby and hear heartbeat for the first time at 163bpm. -From the measurements doctor determined that I must have had an irregular cycle when we conceived and they changed my due date from 11/18 to 11/6. Was excited to jump from 12 weeks to 14 weeks in under an hour lol
Update: Everything went great (except my blood pressure of course!). The baby actually looked like a baby now! We could see the face, arms, legs, fingers and toes! The doctor even showed us the cord pumping blood. It was so cool. I will post a pic soon.
We are officially graduated! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. Oh and only 2 more days of progesterone. Best News Ever!!
@horsecrazy406mama I'd die if I had to wait for anatomy scan. Are you by any of the big cities? Maybe you can find an elective ultrasound place?
I am 120 miles from any big city. So its kind of an event to ever go. I do want to though. Going almost half my pregnancy without seeing my baby??? AAAAGH Idk if i can do it :P
When is your appointment? it was today! How far along will you be? 13 weeks 2 days What is being addressed? Just a check in with my OB, gave a urine sample and got to hear the heartbeat. Best sound ever!!! Comments/questions/concerns: just beyond greatful everything is looking good and I am almost at the second tri.
What is being addressed? Blood draw for genetic testing, hearing the heartbeat for first time. Midwife "interview" - basically a half hour of going over my health history, past pregnancy, what to eat, blah blah blah
Comments/questions/concerns: I asked about the NT scan and my midwife said they're being phased out so I'm not getting one. I got one in 2015 so I was kind of surprised.
Just got back from my appointment. It went super quick but all is well. I got to hear stubborn baby's heartbeat after a few minutes. Baby was hiding behind my pubic bone so even when we heard it, it was faint, but a strong 160. Next appoint is June 5th for the anatomy scan! How it is that time already?!?

just got back from my mfm appointment. both babies look good, nt measurements were normal, growth rate matches my edd, heart rates were each 168bpm. doctor confirmed that they are identical, thankfully in separate sacs, but sharing a placenta. the placenta part means that now i’ll have to go back to the mfm every other week from here on out to make sure they are growing equally.
the ultrasound tech brought in a new hire she was training, which was oh so fun because she took extra time to explain what she was doing and answering the new hire’s questions—and i had to pee like a mofo for over an hour. i was so excited to hear that they were going to switch to the transvag cam because i knew that meant i could finally pee!
We are going in for an elective ultrasound today and taking DS with us. I'm hoping that once he sees the baby it might not be so abstract for him and maybe the questions might die down.
@highsteaks he was interested for all of 60 seconds lol. He was more into the pictures after we left! He asked if we could put one of the pictures on his wall in his room ❤️

What is being addressed? routine check up. Baby had a heart rate of 160! Music to my ears especially since the doctor said we are outside of that scary period and can just relax!
Comments/questions/concerns: cannot believe how my body has changed even though I've only gained one stinking pound!!!
What is being addressed? just an elective scan for reassurance. I'm telling our families on mother's day and I've had a fever twice in the 4 weeks since I last saw baby
Comments/questions/concerns: Baby was perfect. He/She was moving around a ton and was measuring on track with my due date. It was amazing to see his/her little nose, arms, legs, hands, and feet. Ultrasona was amazing. I even got a USB video video of the whole scan.
