I'm having SO MUCH anxiety leading up to tomorrow's appointment. I just don't feel like my symptoms are THAT strong but I also recognize I'm only 5+3. This is the first pregnancy where I am at this stage and have NO IDEA what's happening though (I've had no betas and haven't POAS in almost a week).

*TW* I think a lot of my anxiety comes from the fact that with my first loss baby stopped growing at 5.5 weeks and prior to that I had lost the only symptom I had. *End TW*.

I just want to know what's happening but at the same time know that at 5.5 weeks I won't really learn much!
I'm in the same boat @BitterBetty12 ! I totally understand how you feel.
*TW* My first loss was completely unexpected and wasn't found until about 8 weeks, but wasnt diagnoised as a blighted ovum until 10 weeks. I felt something was off because it didn't feel like my previous pregnancy with my daughter but I've also heard all pregnancies are different so I didn't think much of it. My 2nd loss I had no symptoms, just ate like a cow. Lol End TW*

I'm waiting to hear my beta numbers from this mornings draw. I can't stop staring at the phone. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone and are totally justified in your feelings. Try to stay positive and relax as much as possible (easily said than done).
  • @Angheat - YAY!! Such great news!

  • Nurse called and said second beta numbers were good and no need for a third draw. Come back next friday at 6.5 weeks for an ultrasound! Now I just need to get through the news week and a half of anxiety!
  • @beachmama14 it’s torture!  My last beta was Wednesday and I won’t have any more appointments until my sono this Friday. Going crazy!

My wife and I have conceived a babe with my body and frozen donor sperm through IUI, with medication support (clomid, ovidrel, and injections of progesterone)

    IUI #1, #2, and #3: Dec 2017, Jan 2018, and Feb 2018 - all BFN
HSG Test: April 2018 - all clear!
    IUI #4: April 15/16, 2018 - BFP!! EDD: Jan 7, 2019

  • Didn't hear from my doc today,  which so unlike his office. Just called the office. I was shaking. Turns out the lab didnt run the HCG; just the progesterone. They still have my blood from last week so they are going to test it but then I have to go back in tomorrow for a third draw.

So happy for the good news on the board today!
  • Got to cancel this week's beta! Last Wednesday I was at 295, and Friday (exactly 48 hours later), I was just over 1000, so they just called to let me know now that I'm over 1000 I don't have to come in for more testing. I was worried for a minute about the big jump, but the internet tells me this sometimes happens in the first pregnancy after a loss, like the body working extra hard to make this one stick? I'll go with that until my next appointment - May 25th for the u/s SO FAR AWAY.

Congrats to everyone else waiting threw the weekend and ending up with good results (and @CoastieGirl79 I would be so pissed!!). GL to everyone else with your betas and early u/s this week!!

  • @Kabazaba hCG also tends to rise a bit faster under 1,200 and then slow a bit. That is awesome your numbers looked good.

For you and anyone curious, here is a rabbit hole resource on hCG: https://www.betabase.info/index.html

No more betas for me! The doctor called today scheduling my ultra sound for next Wednesday! They are sending me to the radiology department at the hospital for a more detailed ultra sound. I must say, I'm extremely disappointed because we will not get to actually see baby, possibly hear a heart beat, NOTHING. They will keep everything private, screen turned away from us and we will leave the ultrasound knowing nothing due to hospital policy. I've never experienced something like this and I'm very upset about it. I still have my daughter's 7 week ultrasound hanging on my fridge. Its a cherished memory and i feel I'm being robbed. They will later call us with the results but seeing is believing and I want to see my baby.
  • @tosh24 Yes - I should say all the betas I've had after the first two are only for my own PGAL benefit.

@Angheat Yay! That's exciting, but what a truly odd policy. Can you bribe the u/s tech?
  • AngheatAngheat member
@zamora_spin I told my OB my feelings and she is looking into another facility for me to go that does not have this strange policy. I understand not being able to tell me things but to not see either?!
