@sammierose464 It was great! It feels so good to have the house clean...it has been an absolute disaster for the last couple of months. DH is really great at keeping things picked up but not so much at actually cleaning. I hope you get some extra energy soon!
@knottieamusements Your plants look great!! That’s my plan for next weekend, getting the yard cleaned up and the flowers planted. We will see if the energy lasts until then...
Found a free dresser on fb marketplace today! H and my brother brought it up to the nursery. Things are absolute chaos in there, but still. Progress! Also, hooray for free things!

We got free things today too! Gifts from friends whose twins are 5 months now: a bassinet they hardly used because they got a bigger one that fit both babies, a swing that their girls both hate, and a nursing pillow that she loved, but they've outgrown.
They also showed us how they set up their nursery, extra changing station, and bottle area, and let us ask all kinds of doofus-y first-time-parent questions. My husband legit asked them if babies always sleep on their backs. (I know the answer to this, for the record, but the fella has NO baby experience at all.)
@knottieamusements Don't worry you aren't the only one. I won't he setting up the nursery until we move in middle of July! Like legit not buying anything until then. Makes me stress but I'm hopeful I can pull it off.

@knottieamusements you definitely aren't the only one....I mean, we know what room we are going to use...so that's a start I suppose. So you're ahead of me!
Currently our nursery is just a room filled with all of the things we've currently gotten from friends. It's filling up fast...babies take up a lot more room than I realized!
My sister found all the baby stuff I lent her and she’s bringing it up to MA this weekend! Now I just need to find room for it. LO is sharing a room with DD and so we can’t quite put stuff there yet.
I’m also on the hunt for a used dresser. Got all my Facebook yardsale alerts set up for now.
Lasy accomplishment to brag about, I just sold all my pre-first-baby clothes I haven’t fit into in 4 years. If I get back to that size great, if not that’s perfectly fine too. And if I do, I’ll just reward myself with new clothes anyway. We needed to get some closet space back.
You guys have lots of time, no reason to stress. I set up DDs crib about 3 days before she was born. And she came at 39 weeks, so it's not like it was a surprise. I also packed my hospital bag while I was in labor so maybe no one should take my advice. I'm too much of a procrastinator.
@SawyerRichardson I didn’t pack my hospital bag until the night before my planned c-section @ 38 weeks, despite it being twins and therefore having a good chance of early labor. Their room was set up a couple months before they were born because that’s when we got furniture and I wanted to give it as much time as possible to air out. This time the furniture has been sitting in our spare room and I don’t plan to set it up until nesting kicks in because our room needs to be cleaned out first.
Our lease is up in mid-Sept, and if they increase our rent, we have to move...I don't know when they have to tell us that, but probably not until July. So possibly no nursery for us til end of Sept, and we're trying not to buy big stuff until we know. However: making exceptions for free & cheap.
We won’t be setting up our nursery for a while either. We have some construction to do to deconstruct my former walk-in closet. FIL and DH will be doing it themselves so I would anticipate it being ready a week before baby is set to arrive. I’m hoping it’s done by August so we can start then but I don’t expect it to be done any time soon.
You guys could be like my SIL and BIL...my niece was 1 in October and BIL JUST finished the "nursery". My SIL stayed with my IL for like a month while he did the remodel. I joked that our nursery would be done before theirs.
We didn't buy a crib for DD until she was 4 months old! Pack and play worked just fine. The only reason I'd buy anything early is for cost reasons - like a deal I can't turn down.
We have a small house with only 2 bedrooms and have a house guest coming late June, so we will wait until he leaves before we start any nursery planning and purchasing.
We won't start anything till August... for my husband just eyes all of the heavy guest room furniture that is in there and is already dreading having to carry it to the basement!
My accomplishments for the day: I turned in my 24 hour urine test, got blood work done and got to work on time. Also went grocery shopping during lunch! That's more than I did all last week!

I’m so envious that you guys are already putting together your nurseries! I’m collecting stuff, but can’t start rearranging for several more weeks.
