How many months have you been TTC?
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
Re: **Newbie Intro Thread w/o 4/16**
Ages (you and SO): We are both 32; though I turn 33 in a few months.
How many months have you been TTC? On and off for about a year / year and a half? We've been pretty relaxed about it because we were in the middle of some big life changes. We've been more serious about it for the last 5 months or so.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I had been following ovulation with a chart (not temping, just guessing), but it hasn't been working (obviously); and it looks like I just had an anovulatory cycle, so in addition to seeing a doctor, I'm going to start doing OPKs. Right now I'm a week late, but had a negative blood test so probably need to do something to jumpstart my body. Again, will all depend on what the doctor says, which is complicated since we recently moved and I don't have a doctor here yet!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.). One son, he's 3.5; an old mutt dog; I'm a professor; only real hobby these days is reading.
How many months have you been TTC? We've been trying to conceive for 3 months, but the first month my timing was all off so I don't really count it. I've wanted to try much sooner but it took quite awhile for us to get to a place where we were ready.
**TW**: illness, surgery,
I found out I had ovarian cysts on each ovary this time last year and my obgyn said I'd need surgery to get them out, was also diagnosed with endometriosis. I ended up having my fertility tested just to be proactive and they said all blood tests came back normal. I had complications a week before the surgery was scheduled and it ended up being moved up and i was hospitalized for about a week. Recovery took a lot longer than originally estimated. After recovery, I had to switch my focus to coming off of medications that I was taking for migraines and fibromyalgia because they aren't safe for pregnancy. I ended up having to leave my job because I could not work full time without my medications, (it was a really hard decision because I worked very hard to get where I was with my job). I now work as an independent contractor which allows me a lot more flexibility and is way less stressful than my last job. So a year later here we are finally trying. My doctor said to give it 6 months but if we aren't pregnant by then to see a specialist because of my endometriosis diagnosis.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? temping, charting, opk, preseed, cut way back on caffeine.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) My husband and I bought our first house in October of last year. We have two amazing dogs, Daisy who is almost 1 year old and Oliver who is 3 years old, both rescues. We love hiking and playing board games together and with friends. I majored in musical theatre in college so I also enjoy going to see my friends in shows and going to karaoke from time to time.
How many months have you been TTC? 12
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? OPKs, recently discovered Stork OTC which we're hoping will help combat issues we've had with performance anxiety around O day (doesn't really happen the rest of the month, just around O day). I'm considering temping although I really don't want to. We got all the fertility tests done and we're unexplained, so once insurance approves us, we'll start on fertility treatments.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) No kids yet, but hopeful. Considering a dog, but we live in a city and don't want to keep a dog cooped up, or need to worry about him/her! No one else in my family is that into dogs, so if we went away for a weekend, we'd have to board the pet which would be less than ideal. I work full time fairly close to home and travel sometimes for work. I like to bike, knit, read, volunteer (mainly event planning and community building for a fundraising organization), and help DH with cooking and gardening sometimes.
How many months have you been TTC? Next month will be our first month trying.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? We are using OPK to detect fertile days/ovulation and ditching the condoms.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I married my highschool sweetheart June 2014. We welcomed our first child, our daughter into the world November 2015. We have 2 beagle pups. We love to eat sushi, drink wine, and binge watch shows on Netflix in our free time.
**Edited because I forgot to copy/paste the “Tell us about yourself!”.
How many months have you been TTC? 6
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Vasectomy reversal, OPK, prenatals/supplements, cut down caffeine
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Two daughters, 15 and 4.5 (one he made and one I made). Two dogs, one kitty. I travel for work sometimes and it kills me when it's required over O days. We love to camp and hike and I'm looking forward to summer when we can do more of it.
How many months have you been TTC? This is our first month.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Been off BC since September and temping BBT since then, also check CM daily. I check cervical position too but find it hard to gauge so I only track it for the sake of tracking. Haven't tried OPKs yet but might try next month.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) My FI and I just bought our first house in February, engaged in March (been together almost 4 years), and planning a small wedding in our backyard for June. We didn't want to wait any longer to start a family and know it can take awhile so we're starting before the wedding. We have a 2 year old almost all black rescue kitty named James Dean who insists on waiting outside our door every morning until we give him belly rubs. Hoping to get in some hiking and camping this year if this snow will ever end.
How many months have you been TTC? This is month 8
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting using FF, OPKs, and just started temping. Also have frequent sex.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) DH and I have been together nearly 10 years and going on 4 years of marriage. We have 5 dogs (yes we are crazy), a cat, and an amazing 18 month old daughter. We've always wanted our kids to be close in age so we never prevented after DD turned 4 months old (my period hadn't returned since I was breastfeeding so it was unlikely anyways. My period returned when my daughter was 10 months and we officially started trying then).

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I tracked my cycle using OPKs for 6 months and have been taking prenatals. I also monitor my CM. Will DTD from day 11 and every other day until a positive OPK then every day until a negative OPK. That'll likely be 3 or 4 times during fertile window.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have a 2.5 year old DS and I teach for a living. I have been married for almost 4 years. I like spending time with friends and have been working out...just mild cardio to clear my mind.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? opk's, cm and paying attention to ovulation pain
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have a DS that is almost 7 and a DD that is 3. In between we had a mc. We have one cat who hates my children and hides from them. I am an avid reader and a bit of a runner (I hate it but do it 4-5 times a week). I am nervous that I am too old to have another. I also am very confused by my body. I used to O on cd 20ish. Now I seem to O on cd 16 and this month I think I O'd on CD 12. Next month I am going to have to temp.
How many months have you been TTC? 1
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? OPKs, CM, Prenatal, Vitamin D, and Ovasitol
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) No kids yet but I'm around them 24/7. I'm a teacher and a child/family photographer. Hubby and I have been together eight years but married for almost one year. Photography is my side job, but I also love to shoot for hobby. Planning, shooting, and editing is very therapeutic for me. We became pregnant one month after our wedding (NTNP), and I had a miscarriage and found out a week later that I have PCOS. We've finally decided to be intentional with trying. I'm both excited and nervous about this new journey. I've been learning soooo much from this forum and frequent chats with my doctor!
How many months have you been TTC? 4
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Was trying to temp but I’m really bad at it plus I constantly wake up at odd times, so mostly using opks
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
We have a 4 month old puppy who is adorable but a handful and a 6 year old cat who is constantly plotting to get rid of the dog.
I’m a lawyer. DH is also a lawyer but has been out of work for the past year and a half due to a chronic health issue that is non life threatening but pretty debilitating and not responsive to treatment. I had been on the fence about kids because it’s possible that this condition is hereditary and it also renders him unable to either work or take care of kids (so we will have only one salary plus childcare costs) but after much soul searching we decided to start trying. My mom took 2 years of trying to have me and could not have any other children after that and my MIL had to try for 5 years so I’m already a little nervous about our chances even though everyone is individual. (Plus I now feel terrible for constantly asking my mom for a sibling when I was little now realizing how much she wanted another!) Hoping for some luck after the past couple of years of bad luck we’ve had in other aspects of life.
Ages (you and SO): I'm 40 and my husband is 32
How many months have you been TTC? 13 months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Prenatal vitamins, ovulation kits, Clomid (x1 cycle). We were going to try IUI this cycle but my follicles weren't large enough.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have been married for 9 months and have 2 dogs and a few fish. I work as a nurse practitioner in family practice and my husband works in IT. We live in the Seattle area...no human children as of yet...just furry ones.
Married: 7/30/17
TTC since: 4/2017
IUI #1: planned for 4/2018 - cancelled due to insufficient follicle size/growth.
IUI #2: 5/22/18 - BFN
IUI #3: 6/22/18
BFP: 7/4/18

How many months have you been TTC? 0 so far, but hoping to get the OK to start soon from my doctor. (Hope it's okay I'm introducing myself already! If not, please feel free to tell me.)
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Benched for now, but keeping up with charting BBT and taking pnv. Just finished reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility -- definitely an interesting read.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I was around this board for a little bit last summer (July, I think?) but got benched by my psychiatrists/shock therapy doctors. DH and I are talking to my doctor on Tuesday, hoping to get the green light soon. Other than that, I'm due to finish my English degree by December. My hope is to be an substantive editor for a publishing house someday, or at least do freelance editing for indie writers. DH just got his certification as a personal trainer. We've been together for 8 years; May 4th will be our 4-year wedding anniversary.
How many months have you been TTC?: I recently got my first period post partum so this will be my first cycle trying.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting, BBT, CM, prenatals, and OPKs.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have a DS who is 11 months old. I will be starting a new job soon, which I am excited but nervous about. In my spare time I like to sew and read. I also love The Office.
How many months have you been TTC? 6 (2 ntnp but very well timed, 4 actively trying)
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Cut the caffeine down to 1 small coffee a day, consuming 1 serving of full fat dairy a day, bbt, charting, opks, preseed (but not consistantly), and prenatals
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) no kids yet, just one extremely spoiled and loved pitbull. I’m the ultimate homebody!
I have my first IUI tomorrow TTC #2 but I figured jumping in with a group ahead of time this go around would probably be better. Plus I have been through a wide variety of scenarios to help offer support around TTC issues as well, something that helped me a lot back in 2014/2015!
We are doing monitored IUI w/ trigger shots and clomid.
My daughter is 2.5, Berkley, fiery personality and red hair match. My wife and I live in Virginia and both work in DC. Happy to be here and connect (and commiserate) with you all!:p
Hi!! It’s great to connect with another same sex family. Best of luck with IVF, I know it’s a beast. We might get to that point...fingers crossed 9 IUI’s work this time
