@jrm_14 Thats great that your body cooperated this month! I hope this month was successful for you guys!!! Also, tell me about this gooey cookie butter cake Aaaaaaand they leave me on some meds so I don't get my period until my results come back and so I have a full 28 day cycle. This cycle I was on estrace, crinone, and PIO and I'm just continuing to take my estrace for another week.
@lulu1180 I have done all the blood tests that I am able to do at this point, but these have all been at my request. It is very much a system where I need to advocate for myself. Fingers crossed that appointments happen quickly now. You are very brave for sharing your story. I could not imagine anyone would have any negative comments, but exposing something that intimate about ones self can be a scary thing to do. *hugs* @jrm_14 Thank you friend! Sorry that you are still here too. Waiting is the pits. I think MH's recovery is going to be a very slow one. He will need to go for a CT/MRI next week when swelling has gone down some more. Then they will need to start him on a physio plan. Its going to be a long couple of months. Sorry to see that you are still here. When do you get in to see a new RE? What was the reason for the switch? Awesome that your body was a champ this cycle. FX!
@madspunk yes if you’re not at risk for OHSS and aren’t doing PGS testing you could totally do a fresh transfer. If not it sounds like medicated would be best to not have to wait on O if your cycles are irregular. Glad you have a plan!
AFM I started my microdose Lupron last night and will continue it twice a day. I also start stims tonight and go back for monitoring on Saturday. Grow follies grow!!
@kristokekerooni no I didn’t have Intralipids done before. But would have it done at my haematologist. They have a special infusion room and a nurse that just does infusions all day long. For IV meds I would need a licensed medical practitioner to order, receive and administer (not all one person) them - I guess equivalent to your DH.
@augusta108 Did you I get more monitoring done? Any progress? Is your estrogen rising? And thanks for the support - it’s very much appreciated
@beachbunnyxo123 yep round 4! Will only be a few days behind you! Protocol below!
@madspunk what dose of stims are you on? Just I know you have quite a few follies. So if you’ll be a good responder and not doing a fresh transfer then you should be able to time your FET for whenever you want.
@purplg8r hey DPO buddy. How are you doing? I POAS this morning. So white I wish my teeth were that white... I should know not to POAS before 14dpo. Or ever. But I never learn.
@lulu1180 I can’t find the killer recipe online. I’ll take a look in our cook books at the weekend. It should probably be registered as a weapon!
@50wife Fx for good results next week so you can move ahead!
@lulu1180@50wife I would love to promote IF and all it involves, but I can’t declare TTGP to my company. So I’m stuck. And as my sister and mother post their entire lives all over social media, we decided we can’t tell them else they will inadvertently “out” us. But once we are on the other side? OMG I want to share the hell out of our whole journey. Assuming our legal issue is resolved by then...
@darkstar42 that’s a good point abut it being a good way for your DH to learn (without you having to explain every detail - which my DH hates,,,)
@jrm_14 all the hugs for you too. And feel whatever you need to feel. And I for one would be over the moon if you’re a SS and don’t need to start with the new RE.
AFM big stress this afternoon trying to find ways to get the meds the RE has prescribed. The saga will continue tomorrow.
Protocol details for those interested: We start CD2 evening with 5 days of Rekovelle which is FSH only at 12 units daily. Then Zomacton (HGH) starting CD2 EOD 12 units per day ending CD10. CD7 we start Meriofert (FSH and LH, like menopur) at 450iu per day. This one is not available in Germany. And previously I took max 300iu per day. So I’m really intrigued how my follies respond. Same day we start daily cetrotide 0.25mg per day. Trigger is a 15000iu HCG of a brand called Gonasi (which is not available in Germany). So far I only took 5000iu doses to trigger, so this is a huge jump. Good job I don’t have to worry about overstimulating! I’m still waiting for name and dose of antibiotic, blood thinner and steroid. They're aiming for ER CD14 or 15.

@emmasemm, thanks for asking—I did have another appointment today! They counted 9 follicles, some of which are still hovering around the 10 mm mark. We have a couple of 11s and 12s, though, and 1 that’s jumped up to 14. The NP says my bloodwork looked “great” and that I should start Ganirelix today (just waiting on DH to get home to do the shot!). I have another monitoring appointment on Friday and then we’re probably looking at Sunday or Monday (or possibly even Tuesday) for the retrieval. I’m getting pretty impatient but, of course, want to give my follicles all the time they need!
@madspunk I went in about every 4 days until I started PIO and then went in the day before transfer. It wasn’t bad and scans were quick since they’re really looking at your lining.
First night of stims in the books. Would you believe I had to rewatch the injection videos because I forgot how to do it. I just did this all 3 months ago. Don’t ask me how I forget I must have repressed it!
@nitnat007 I will start with the new RE next cycle. We switched due to a number of things, one being the drive, another being the way a few things were handled at the previous clinic, and generally wanting a second opinion before jumping into IVF.
@beachbunnyxo123 Yay for your first night of atoms complete! I think am glad you forgot how to do them?
@emmasemm How is it coming trying to gain access to those other medications? For some reason I was honking your company knew about your IF. That sucks plain sucks you have to hide it.
Q: I am switching from Gonal-F to Follistem and am needing a Follistem injector pen. I have a cartridge. Any ideas on how to obtain only the pen (I also have the disposable tips) are welcomed to be PMd to me!
It's been a busy week, so I'm just finally posting. So many of you are stimming and otherwise preparing for IVF. I'm thinking of you all and wishing for so many happy embies for you!!! I may not be tagging individually, but I'm definitely following everyone's journey and cheering you on
AFM:
Diagnosis: Old AF, DOR, OH is on testosterone replacement forcing us to use sperm we froze last summer
Status: WTO (although I believe/hope I O'd yesterday)
What are you doing: Back to it this cycle. Doing acu, taking some of the supplements I gave up for a few weeks, just did a "turkey baster" insemination last night and another this morning (I'm actually using Instead cups as a delivery device since syringes weren't getting every last drop of spermy goodness from the vials).
How is it going: Better than I thought it would. During my TTC break last cycle, I very seriously considered just giving up and not coming back to it. My attitude had gone to shit, and I didn't feel like the break was improving it...just that I was happier not dealing with it all. However, as FW began, I was much hornier than I had been last cycle, and have been very interested in fooling around, and find myself somewhat hopeful after using two of the eight vials we had left. Yesterday when I was lying on the acu table and meditating, I came to the decision that it is out of my hands and that I will do what is reasonable (or only slightly crazy) to make it happen, but otherwise give up responsibility. I also decided that whatever happens, I will be happy with it (which is honestly the attitude I've always had, but I feel more peace with it now). **TW existing child mentioned** When I was considering giving up, I was thinking of all of the advantages of continuing our lives as they are, with just OH and DSS and me...that we won't have to pay childcare costs, no diapers, sleepless nights, potty training...and that I can learn to ski with DSS next winter...and how hard being a new mom at 45 would be. None of that could fill the hole that will be in my heart if we aren't able to have another baby, and if I'm never a mother. But I can handle it. And I won't allow myself to let it ruin what is a really great life, just as it is. **End TW** So we will use up the existing frozen swimmers and leave the rest to the universe. We all know from experience that the universe can be a son of a bitch who I've flipped off repeatedly. But that is the only option I'm willing to live with, so there it is. TL;DR: I'm not in control, dammit.
Any questions: Nope
GTKY: I always struggle with what to bring to a party or potluck. Generally baking is my safe zone, so I'd probably bring cookies or homemade brownies or something.
Me: 45 OH: 42 Beloved SS: born 12/2011 TTC my bio #1/our #2 since January 2016 **TW** June 2016 had CP **end TW** August 2016 - dx with DOR Somewhere in here received recommendation to do IVF with donor eggs, elected not to; OH dx with Low T May 2017 - began freezing sperm June 2017 - OH began treatment for Low T July 2017 - began doing 1 IUI via a midwife and 1 at home insemination each cycle http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/6259ba July 2018 - exhausted frozen sperm, officially NTNP since OH is probably shooting blanks
Today’s update from me: We have one follicle at 18.5 mm and 7 more close enough that the NP thinks they should be good to go by the retrieval. There’s also one borderline one that might make it but probably won’t. Still, feeling pretty happy overall with how things are going! Finish strong, follicles!
I have another monitoring appointment tomorrow morning, but we’re definitely getting close! Probably a Monday or Tuesday retrieval.
@Aurora1973 I'm glad you've come to terms with whatever will happen. I admire that you're able to think that way. I have been trying to live more in the moment and just have a general, "life really is fucking amazing" attitude and see where it gets me! Still have my fingers crossed so hard for you!
@Aurora1973 Your post made me tear up. Good for you, girl. I wish I had some of what you have. I'd kill for that kind of peace.
@jrm_14 , two options, you can purchase one from IVFmeds, which is an overseas pharmacy. It will take 2 weeks to get to you, and it $50 plus shipping, Or I can send you mine, if you'll send it back when you are finished with it. I don't think I am going to stim again this year.

@beachbunnyxo123, besides the 1 at 18.5, we have 2 at 15, 2 at 14, 1 at 13.5, and 2 at 13. The one she said she thought was borderline is measuring at 12 mm and there’s also two stragglers at 11.5 she said would be very unlikely to make it.
@augusta108 that sounds like a great bunch of follies! I hope you have a great monitoring appointment today. Let us know if you trigger tonight or hold off to trigger Sunday for Tuesday retrieval.
@aurora1973 You’re so so strong. I don’t know if I would be so strong in your position. Being at peace with whatever happens over these next months is really something.
@beachbunnyxo123 snap - I’m also rewatching videos and my last stims were only January! Then again I do have some different meds this time, different mixing, injection sites... I’m hoping I will be just five days behind you too! When is your first monitoring?
@madspunk oh wow, if you’re getting that many follies on 50 then I can imagine you should be a great IVF candidate if you decide to go that route. Probably just need to check the doctors plan to try and get the follies growing together (maybe estrogen priming?) and of course OHSS. Or you could really be a potential candidate for a low stim approach eg with 150iu you might get an “average” number of eggs. And maybe better quality. Like you say, as you don’t get cycles naturally then an unmedicated IVF cycle won’t work for you.
AFM Well we got our meds!!! Those were some damn stressful few days. Really stressful. But in the end DH totally charmed our local pharmacist who basically researched the shit out of everything, called favours at his old university to check drugs between countries, arranged for translation of the prescription, got the drugs ordered without us even paying for them and let us pick them up today before the bank transfer had cleared. We offered to pay an extra fee for all the extra hours he spent, it he said no... ***spoiler for mention of kids***
... because when we’re successful he just expects us to keep using his pharmacy for all the things kids need! I nearly cried in the middle of the pharmacy. One for his words, but also for a little restoration of my faith in humanity, that people go above and beyond to help when they can sense someone else is struggling.
So we have all the meds, now I’m just praying to the old gods and the new that AF holds off until Monday, so I can have my baseline Tuesday and then get this show on the road!

@lurvleybunchococonuts I have to bring something to your attention. While I’m sure this is not your intention, I’ve found your “lurky lurking lurker” comments to be triggering and offensive. The over emphasis of “lurking” makes it seem like you’re making a joke out of it and knowing you are KU and making comments like that is really hurtful. If it was the first time you did it, fine, but it’s not. The word “lurking” is sufficient and some comments are also appropriate for a PM. I’m in the middle of my second IVF cycle and this was the last thing I needed to see this morning as I was coming into my safe IF space to post an update that I no longer wish to post. Just thought you should know.
We’re officially doing the egg retrieval on Tuesday! I have 4 follicles measuring at 17 mm, 2 at 16.5, and 1 at 14 that they think will get big enough in time. (My 18.5 disappeared, which I was worried about, but she said it was probably just that two follicles were really close together and threw off the measuring yesterday.) There are also 5 more at slightly smaller sizes that probably won’t catch up.
They said they like my numbers so far, and I’m feeling cautiously optimistic (but still extremely nervous!).
*lurking* My apologies, it was never been my intention to be triggering or offensive to anyone. I am so so sorry. I will stick to pm's and my own boards in the future.
Eta: I had merely been attempting to show continued support to one (and all) of the many ladies who had helped me so much in the past. Never was I attempting to make a joke or light of anything. Again my apologies for doing so in the incorrect way.

@lurvleybunchococonuts it wasn’t the support part that bothered me, it was the overemphasis on the “lurking” which came off as rubbing in the fact that you are now pregnant, which especially in the IF group is not needed or appropriate. Even our IF grads limit their posts here and usually don’t even write lurking as this is a small group and unfortunately there are many of us who have been here for a long time so we know who posters are. I also wasn’t implying that you should never post here or on TTGP, just that you should keep in mind what comments would be better suited for a PM. Hoping this helps. Appreciate the apology.
@Augusta108 that’s great news!!! Good luck tonight with your trigger! Very excited for you for Tuesday!

Aaaaaaand they leave me on some meds so I don't get my period until my results come back and so I have a full 28 day cycle. This cycle I was on estrace, crinone, and PIO and I'm just continuing to take my estrace for another week.

AFM big stress this afternoon trying to find ways to get the meds the RE has prescribed. The saga will continue tomorrow.
Protocol details for those interested:
We start CD2 evening with 5 days of Rekovelle which is FSH only at 12 units daily.

@beachbunnyxo123 How often did they have you go in for monitoring during your medicated FET? Sending you lots of follie growing vibes!!
@emmasemm I'm on 50 iu for the IUI.
First night of stims in the books. Would you believe I had to rewatch the injection videos because I forgot how to do it. I just did this all 3 months ago. Don’t ask me how I forget I must have repressed it!
**End TW**
So we will use up the existing frozen swimmers and leave the rest to the universe.

I have another monitoring appointment tomorrow morning, but we’re definitely getting close! Probably a Monday or Tuesday retrieval.
I am both excited and super anxious!
Still have my fingers crossed so hard for you!
@Augusta108 Go follies go!!!! GL tomorrow!

@augusta108 great numbers! Fx for a great retrieval for you
@augusta108 that sounds like a great bunch of follies!
I nearly cried in the middle of the pharmacy.
One for his words, but also for a little restoration of my faith in humanity, that people go above and beyond to help when they can sense someone else is struggling.

They said they like my numbers so far, and I’m feeling cautiously optimistic (but still extremely nervous!).
My apologies, it was never been my intention to be triggering or offensive to anyone.
