The Bump doesn't like my cell phone. I'm a computer only gal (while slacking at work).
First Son - born 2013
Second Son - born 2014 - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). First open heart surgery at 5 days old. He's had 3 open heart surgeries and several other procedures and is currently doing amazing. Third Son - due June 9, 2018
Lol! I clearly sit on a throne of lies, but in my defense, my mom just left for the airport. Now I'm back at work (clearly working hard over here...).
Had my second twins parenting class last night. The instructor was helpful, but I still feel like there's so much I don't know. I feel like I should go to a lactation/feeding class, but I know there will be a lactation consultant at the hospital.
Went to BBB Sunday while my mom was in town to look at strollers. We decided to wander the store while there, which was great, because she bought some really great stuff! Ran into this woman who was there on her registry tour (with sooo many people). The grandmother to be overheard my mom say something about "both babies" and interrupted our conversation to ask, "You're having twins?" I said yes and politely tried to move on (in NY we do NOT talk to strangers). Then she asked when I was due and I told her. Then the stranger said I didn't look far enough along with twins to be due in June. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think she may have meant it as a compliment, but I'm just like - ok, well I am...and walked away.
Sorry, there is no real point to this story...just annoyed at strangers commenting on my body.
@LaceyBee522 also I am still waiting for strangers to comment on my body. Maybe I'm just not friendly-looking enough? Or maybe I literally don't hear them doing it (DH says people say hi to me, and I never notice so...)? The only time anyone has remotely commented on my body was in LA on vacation a front desk guy said, "YOU MUST BE HAVING A BOY!" and I was like nope? And then a homeless guy said the same thing, and it was still nope, not a boy. Lol. But that was ages ago. I figured I'd get more comments as I got bigger. Nope.
@doxiemoxie212 I haven't been doing much lurking lately, but will check out March. Thank you! Also, why do strangers try to guess the sex based on our bodies. It is so weird to me.
@MissKittyDanger Lucky!! I think I've been offered a seat once, by another woman. But that was ages ago!! This morning, I actually had a woman practically push me out of the way for a seat that opened up...lol!
@LaceyBee522 Our transit system has really been pushing about priority seating lately, so that might be why. I still got weird looks, that could be from people not really seeing the bump or trying to figure out how old I am {I'm 30 and look early 20s - I also don't help things when I hide my wedding ring } I would have said something to that lady. So rude!
@LaceyBee522 I got offered a seat halfway to our destination this past weekend when it was coat-free weather, but DH and I laughed (along with half the train) at one point early in our ride up because this 40-year-old woman practically pushed me and DH over to steal a seat, and I'm 8 months pregnant, and DH is wearing this enormous broken foot boot thing. It was like well okay then, that's a new one! My fav though was we were waiting for our table (which we had a reservation for) at brunch, and I sat down at the counter to wait, and this server was like, "Sorry, you can't sit here unless you're actually eating at the counter." And then I stood up, and he was like, "Oh shit, nevermind, sit back down. You are PREGNANT!" I was like oh, okay, so I'm not pregnant anymore, now I'm PREGNANT! lol
@doxiemoxie212 People are so weird on transit around pregnant women! I've seen people be nicer to an expecting woman than to an elderly person. Idk why ... There's a kid at my morning stop who constantly jumps the line. This morning some lady stopped him {he was going to be in front of her and myself} and told him to get to the back of the line lmao Idk if it was for her purpose or both of ours, but it was funny.
@MissKittyDanger you might think that, yet in NYC the busses only have one door, and it is just a huuuuge CROWD of people fighting to get on. Was mostly the same in DC as well...
@doxiemoxie212 Oh lol well I have no idea why we stand in line then! I know when it's at a hugely packed station {like downtown, or certain places during rush hour} it's more of a crowd but still ends up being single file
@doxiemoxie212 - We queue because of our inherent Britishness... (overly polite, sorry, sorry, sorry) And @MissKittyDanger I agree, we line up for Streetcars with double door entry as well, at stations in Toronto. Even on the commuter trains, folks know where the doors will stop and they will line up.
OH the side eye you will get if you mess with the system........

@MissKittyDanger - We left the "big Smoke" for KW area last July. But believe me, I was in Greektown (2 years) Parkdale (9) and St.Clair West (7)... I know me some transit in Toronto!! We are now "downtown" out here, but it is no where near as busy as the 6ix.

@rnielsen321 It was a few years ago when I last visited {Dinosaurs at the ROM} but we stayed in the 6ix .... it amazed me how busy some areas were! I live in the Capital, and thought d.t was busy - Toronto has us beat! lol
@rnielsen321 Just chiming in to say I lived in KW for 11 years before moving to NJ in 2015 - my parents still live there and I still visit several times a year
WHAT!!! @becca_123 small world... I love it here. HUGE move for DH and I. Neither of us grew up here, we just picked it for lifestyle, employment and cost of living. We are super pleased...

@rnielsen321 I guess it’s perspective! My parents are starting to hate it because of the increase in traffic/construction. Not to mention the price of real estate has gone up drastically over the past few years because city goers are moving there which I guess is good for them because their house has almost doubled in value since 2011 but for people like my sister it’s near impossible to afford to buy a house now! But I’m glad you like it and it’s working out for you. It holds a lot of memories for me
