wow...am i first to a weekly randoms?? that seems so odd...especially because i was really just coming to post and say Hi! sorry i haven't been so active lately but work has gotten crazy busy, but i just don't feel like working today lol, so here i am...I'm hoping everyone has been doing well, especially as we are all starting to get closer to the end of the first tri (right? we are all like 8+ weeks??)...also i will brag at my amazing skills to just get stuff done on satruday...I had both the kids, i cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom toilette, went to walmart to take passport photos, fed the kids & did nap, deep cleaned our shower, made a ring sling, and had dinner on the table for us and some friends...i felt like a rock star, so yes, this is me bragging, cause sometimes you just got to recognize you did something amazing...ok i'm done!

Edit: i looked at the appointment thread and realized that maybe we aren't all nearing the end of the first tri--so ignore that!

@erinmarie86 Ugh I'm jealous! My mother will get into town on Friday and I failed to do even half the cleaning I wanted to this weekend. I have a feeling I am going to wear myself out before picking her up at the airport.

So, I "broke up" with an OB after deciding to use the other, but they "forgot "to cancel my appointment this week. I told them I had called to cancel, so they had me speak with a nurse. I got the impression they thought I wasn't going to be receiving care?!? (I'm diabetic and pregnant... seriously wtf)

Anyways, they said they would feel more comfortable "releasing" me once I have the NIPT done. I seriously rolled my eyes at them, but at the same time, they offer a cash pay of $150 for testing while the OB I chose doesn't have a cash pay available. So now I'm thinking I'll use this OB office to get my blood test and then block their number once I have the results

My hubs is taking my 19month old on a trip this weekend to meet up with a friend. I decided to sit this one out. I do have a lot of stuff to catch up on, but really I’ll most likely sleep in and binge watch Netflix because an opportunity to be home alone for two whole days rarely happens. It will probably be years before I get alone time like this again.

@middleschoolmommy honestly i was wondering if nesting kicked in super early this go around...but i basically had it with clutter and crap in my house and was determined to have certain areas clean (especially our shower!)--i know while pregnant breathing in cleaning fumes is not good so i opened the window and would spray the stuff and walk away, then come back in a few minutes to scrub (with gloves on)...this shower was in dire need and i figured being around the cleaning stuff for a little bit was better than continuing to shower in whatever was on my walls

@BabyBoyH92016 oh man, that is the stuff my dreams are made of. Shoot, if DH would take both kids for a couple hours somewhere I would be thrilled. One of the things I underestimate needing the most is quiet time in my own home. So often I view it only as a loud, hectic place and never actually get to enjoy it being peaceful. Enjoy your weekend!

I have celiac disease and the one time I have cravings for wheat products is when I'm pregnant which is the exact worst time to slip up. I've been craving ramen recently which is wheat based and it's been bumming me out. Tonight, I remembered that I have rice ramen cubes in the back of the cabinet and, with some chicken broth and spices, it's a passable match. I'm SO happy!

@wannaflickone thanks I will. With one kid it’s still possible to get alone time, but when baby #2 comes along, I know that’s all pretty much going to come to an end

Definitely going to take any opportunity I can get. November will be here before we know it.

@BabyBoyH92016 That's so sweet of YH to take your kid on a trip! I rarely hear about men taking kids on trips, so that's awesome that he's doing that. I hope they have a great time, and I hope you enjoy your down time. Whatever you do, don't get sucked into doing chores! I always end up spending too much time doing chores on my days off and then I regret it. Use the time to veg out.

I found my perfect facial moisturizer!!! My skin has been crazy since my last pregnancy and I have been trying to get it back under control for two years. Finally came across a new moisturizer from Philosophy and it has turned my skin around overnight. SOOOO so so happy!

Also, our house is trashed (by my standards) and DH said he would clean since he is off work in Wednesday. I am beyond grateful because I have been too sick to even make sure my dishes make it to the kitchen, haha. I am jealous of your energy @erinmarie86!

Hey all. It's been a whirlwind of stress in the Forbie household the past few weeks. Had huge falling outs with ILs, which isn't good normally but especially when they're our primary care giver for DS and tell me I'm difficult with too many rules on top of completely violating my privacy and trust. Their actions put my plans into warp drive and, well, I formally put in my notice of resignation today!! I feel like I've lost 50 pounds. I'm so excited to get time with DS before bean arrives and to be able to take it easy for the rest if this pregnancy. I've stressed this little bean out more than enough to last their lifetime and it's time to relax. As much as possible with a 15 month old who gets into and onto everything. Much better than my 3 hour round trip commute though. 12 days until I'm done!!!!

@purelex What moisturizer? I use hope in a jar but my skin went tits up a year and a half away (red, bumpy, and generally gross—pregnancy is NOT helping). I seriously have no idea what to do with my face anymore!

I have been too exhausted and nauseous to actively participate the past few weeks but I’m always reading.

@PMForbie That must feel soooo good! I hate having to tiptoe around our and picking my battles with my ILs. Enjoy your freedom!

@MojieJo Yeeeesssss. The ONLY redeeming factor the app had to offer was the lack of ads. If I didn’t love the community so much, I would’ve ghosted a long time ago because of how horrible the app Is... and now they’ve added ads to the mix?! Wtf!

I am seriously the worst pregnant person... I never wanna do anything. Just lay around all day long. Can't this house just clean itself?!

Anyways, I was wondering...when did you have your first appointment ladies? My doctor always makes me wait until 8 weeks, but it seems like you all went sooner! I pushed it off until 9 weeks this time because I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell my MIL so soon (I did, just couldn't keep it in. Plus she knew because I stopped having a second cup of coffee)

@bkosy @firsttimespartanmom My OB won't see you until 8/9 weeks but we were seeing a reproductive endocrinologist for fertility treatments, they're the ones who are closely monitoring me during early pregnancy.

@bkosy my first appointment was around 8 weeks...going back at 10ish to do the bloodwork...looking back, i probably could have just waited until 10, but man it was hard enough waiting for 8 weeks!

Yeeaahhhh... I'm glad I use the app, primarily. I'm using my laptop right now and these ads are crazy!

@opulence, Philosophy released a new moisturizer in their Purity line (Purity Made Simple Moisturizer). The Purity cleanser has always been awesome for me so I thought I'd give the new moisturizer a try and it is heaven. It doesn't have SPF in it but my foundation does so it's not something I really need. It's really light, smells fabulous and soaks right in. I had really dry, flakey skin and it's completely better now! Oh, and the price is much more affordable than some of the others I've tried.

I was sharing the news with some coworkers today that are higher up. I showed them our announcement picture that we took this weekend that has my dog in it with a sign saying "Baby LastName coming November" and one of them thought my dog was pregnant...

+1 on the complaints about ads. My last BMB left last time TB had a huge ad push like this, but we were a month or so out from having our babies so the timing wasn't awful.

You guys that are getting ads... I'd install an ad blocker! I use adblock in chrome (my browser), so I don't see any ads on the bump.

I'm so anxious to start registries just to get the deals, but we have a unique last name and DH has a cousin with a shower coming up. Since we haven't announced yet, I am worried about people finding it by accident while searching for the cousin so I haven't created one yet.

My ob told me to not lift my toddler and not do housework. I may or may not have laughed in her face and thought about switching drs.

@kbrown2385 Seriously? I asked my ob because my 27lb 19 month old refuses to walk sometimes and wants to be carried and she said it’s totally fine because my body is already conditioned to lift that much.
