Re: Symptoms [April]

  • I find I waddle with my winter coat than with a smaller jacket.

Also ... I can't do up my jacket. Nice weather better hurry t.f up

  • @izza2 +1 to the waddle - i blame my hip, but apparently its enough that coworkers have commented

  • Not sure if there's a solution for this, or reasoning .... but in the middle of the night I'll go to stretch my legs out and if I move my foot one way, the muscles in my calf hurts like hell!!
Only things I've been able to do is get up, and hold/massage area but it doesn't entirely work.

    Anyone else experience this?
  • @izza2 I’ve been waddling for at least the last 4 weeks, and even before that the later in the day the more I’d start to waddle. I don’t mind it as long as I’m not in pain with every step. I cherish the moments i get out of the chair/ bed and start walking and the first steps don’t invoke an ouch.

@ffw0617 - I cringe just thinking of getting off the couch/bed. Chairs are usually okay, but when I get up from those, I always walk super weird because of my right hip.
Yesterday I felt like I was a robot because I was walking so weird. H told me I look like an old lady.
    He's so sweet.

Charlie horse. Pretty common. Drink more water and have a banana or two.

I am getting direct kicks to the bladder now. It’s more fun than snissing.

  • @MissKittyDanger aren't they the worst! I used to get them often as a teenager but haven't had one in years or with this pregnancy yet, even though they are a symptom... Until.... Last Thursday at 4am the spasm wouldn't let up for about a minute of torture. Then my leg was sore until Sunday! In addition to the potassium in bananas I've heard magnesium is good too! And of course first things first, water!
  • @stephcat421 I had always heard of the kind that curl your toes, so it never even occurred to me it was charlie horse! They awful! {confession - I threw the cat off the bed this morning because he wanted attention and I was trying not to scream in pain at 4am}
I'm making a grocery list, I may have to change what my snacks are lol
  • @doxiemoxie212 I hope you will get a few good days to make up for it. Usually I have a couple of those “This is the end, I can literally go no further, I’m done” days followed by a few manageable days again. It’s a vicious cycle.

  • @2589 just enough to lure you into a false sense of security lol
  • @2589 i feel like that’s what I’ve been having since around 10:30am. I can walk (waddle) & breath without struggle or pain. Feet are still swollen to max capacity but the pain from last week & most of this week had me rethinking this whole thing.

I just need a weekend to get caught up on school work, if i can do that this weekend I’ll be good to go.

  • @izza2 I have had a waddle since 13 weeks when the SPD started. It's getting progressively worse. I'm with ya on the duck.
  • I feel like I do waddle... but it's when my hemmy friend back there is bothering me lol. You girls should have seen me Monday. I think I literally cried from 11 till 9 at night. I barely could work. When I did work, I was standing, hovering over my desk. Almost emailed my manager that was I was signing off and making up the time another day. I was in a fetal position on the couch most of the evening. Poor ds just wanted to play and all I could say was mommy hurts lol. I had to call dh to hurry home from work to feed ds. I tried about 5 sitz baths. Prep h. Tucks. Everything just kept making it worse. Finally numbed it enough to function with an ice pack. How pleasant! Lol
On wed, my dr gave me a script for something tho. It's irritated now and I reeeeally wish i would have taken 20 mins from sick kid time to have gotten it filled. Arrrghhh. But scared cause creams seriously make it much worse.

  • @catlady1215 that sounds so miserable  :/

I feel like rolling over in bed has gone from not easy to actually painful in the last 2 nights. Like when I roll over my whole stomach just aches and pinches and pulls.

  • @momac1919 my dachshund does this every single time it's time for a walk. I actually cannot get her and have to lure her out from under the table with cookies, which I think is her entire goal in the first place.  (What kind of dog hates walks???)
  • @momac1919 The only reason mine doesn't crawl under the table is because that's usually where the dogs are and there's not enough room for all three of them. He will however run all over the house and, with him weighing nearly 40 lbs. and me being super-gigantic, I struggle to regain control regardless of where he decides to go.

@sunshineandwhiskey Ha! I swear, I sometimes question who, between myself and DS1, is actually stronger. He kicks and I cry, which he finds hysterical, leading him to believe that I enjoy said kicks, so he does it again!
  • @kfren Omg, yes!!  DD will elbow me in the ribs/top of bump and I make this load grunt/groan, so she then makes the same noise and does it again thinking its funny!

  • My toddler knows I've given up. He takes full advantage.
  • @MissKittyDanger Here is a list of foods and their potassium content...and for anyone else- you don't have to gag down bananas :) https://apjcn.nhri.org.tw/server/info/books-phds/books/foodfacts/html/data/data5b.html
  • @bearmoons I like bananas, but I'd probably get sick of them really quick lol
    {note: chocolate milk is called 'drinking chocolate' and the amount I drink it surprises me I have this issue lmao}
  • @MissKittyDanger I'd also try some magnesium, as that can help with muscle cramps...and staying hydrated. Good luck! (I hate bananas, lol)
  • TMI: I have resorted to using wipes today. For myself. There is no other way to keep the swamp at bay. I feel like I could bathe twice a day but who has time for that? My goodness, what an unfortunate symptom..

@2589 I’ve been drenched since BFP. But I’ve always been a heavy producer of discharge.

I was going to ask, though: has anyone else noticed the LOCATION of where their discharge goes has changed? It used to go pretty evenly straight down so the crotch of my underwear would get wet. Now it somehow only drenches my underwear like, at/above my pubic bone? I guess my pelvis must tilt more than I’d realized or something but it’s WEIRD.
  • @doxiemoxie212 yes! That’s what mine has been doing for a couple of days, the first time I thought was a fluke but it has been consistently on the front of my underwear now. Gah I’m so over it. I mean the over activeness of it has been going for months... they even did a swab when I was in for that spotting a couple weeks ago and that was completely fine... but it’s really just out of control now.

  • Damnit. I think I might have PUPPPS. I was thinking it was flea bites or something on my leg because we’ve been lax in treating my indoor only cat. But that’s apparently what they look like on your leg. Luckily, they are just on my right shin and no where else.
  • @starla487 does it usually start on the extremities though? For some reason I had thought it usually starts on the abdomen and then begin to appear elsewhere.

  • @MissKittyDanger I’ve been getting leg cramps in my calf as well. Sometimes it will tense up all day. I’ve been trying to drink more water and eat bananas (I hear that helps).
  • Guys .... I had my first 'real' brush with contractions as a FTM - or about as close as I'll get without being in labour and this is NOT Braxton Hicks!

So I may have mentioned before that I have digestive issues. This hasn't been an issue in pregnancy since I was 7 weeks, so this definitely shocked me.
Typically when my stomach acts up, I know the process it goes through. Pregnancy has changed that 100% and plays havoc with my bowels.

With the way the pain came - in waves - you would swear it was contractions. Nothing was happening but I knew my body needed to deal with this.

I started doing stuff that the prenatal class nurse taught us - breathing, readjusting my body, moving, etc - then thought "I should try relaxing and more water. Maybe that will help."
*headdesk* It wasn't right away, but it did help. Once my body relaxed, it helped so much.

I need to remember this when it actually happens lmao

That’s why I haven’t brought it up at my appts because my abs are fine. But I was reading something last night that in rare cases, it can start anywhere. So, I guess I’ll be bringing it up on Thursday. Especially since it looks like it’s spreading on my leg.
  • @starla487 ugh bummer... I can’t even say I wish it was flea bites instead because I’ve been down that road too. Hopefully they’ll okay you to use a hydrocortisone cream or something to keep the itch at bay.

  • @starla You've got me curious, what does your rash look like? Did it bother you? I noticed a rash/marks on my inner thighs and it doesn't bother me, but now I'm wondering if it's an issue I should bring it up to my OB :\ I also heard PUPPS was an abdominal issue
  • So they look like insect bites. But I have an allergic reaction to insect bites on my legs, so I don’t think they are actually bites. They are itchy AF and sting a bit if touched. I also have a few small hive-like red marks popping up. That was kind of the tip off for me to look it up.

Luckily, there isn’t really a risk other than it’s a pain in the ass.
