Fetal movement

Hey ladies, I know I’m not an “active member” - personally i hate this app and find it hard to keep up with, it’s so slow and not user friendly. But anyway, that’s my excuse. Oh and my 4, 2 and 1 year old boys. I was curious when and if everyone is feeling baby move? I’m 17 weeks today and I want to feel her move!!!! I think it was between 17-19 weeks i felt the other children move.

Re: Fetal movement

  • Hi! I think this gets mentioned in the symptoms thread every now and then, but the answers would be hard to find.

A lot of people are starting to feel movement, but if you have an anterior placenta that might delay feeling anything. With my first pregnancy I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel any for sure movements until almost 20 weeks.

This time I started feeling movement more consistently just before 18 weeks, though if I'm busy or distracted I definitely miss it.

  • Try to be patient. We cannot do anything to help you feel movement sooner or navigate the app/site. Lots of things factor into when quickening is felt such as placental placement, as pp mentioned. We can’t change that. I haven’t felt anything other than gas myself.
  • I'm feeling baby, but the tech also told me at the NT scan that my placenta was posterior.  It's still pretty early!

I started feeling baby at week 14. Started with flutters and lately I even felt them hiccup. After I come home from work, I usually have a fruit snack or juice and lay down. Our house is pretty quiet (FTM, don't watch TV) so I spend this time waiting for baby to wiggle.

This app is not the most user-friendly and I am a millenial lol. The reply box is dumb and once you open a thread and you hit the back button, it sends you to the top of the page............ those are the things I would change.

I am 19&4 with a healthy baby (kicking and jabbing on U/S yesterday) but haven’t felt anything. My OB told me it can still be 2-4 weeks with an anterior placenta
  • Nothing lately (17 wk+), but I did feel flutters that did not feel like gas around 13-14 wks. It will happen!
  • Thanks everyone! This is my fourth and I felt all babies move by this point so it has me a little nervous, but I really appreciate all the feedback. I over analyze and freak out about everything even though everything has been fine. Thanks ladies! Still have two more weeks til my next appt.
  • Pro-tip-the app does totally suck. I use my phone browser (in my case Chrome, but could be safari for others) and log into the actual website from there, and then bookmarked the main Sept board page-works about 100 times better than the app for me.

  • This is my third and I have an anterior placenta. I can feel movement, but it’s pretty light. It’s similar to how I felt my first, who also had an anterior placenta.
