DH had to go into work this morning, late start but he still had to leave around the same time to make it safely. Only to be there for 3 hours because we have doctors appointments this afternoon. Now I get to shovel the extra 8 inches of snow we got last night! BOO! 23.5 inches total since Friday night!

Plus it's a snow day, so cue the crazy 5 year old who is soooo over winter already!
  • Loading the player...
  • Couldn’t find my maternity jeans so I’m squeezed into regular ones. So uncomfortable
  • @kburg15 - ugh - is the hair tie trick helping at all?
Mine is clothing related as well. I don't know what I was thinking when I got dressed this morning. My maternity jeans are kinda low-rise, like the actual jeans material stops much lower and the stretchy band is right in the middle of my hips, and my shirt barely covers the stretchy band. I usually wear a longer shirt with these jeans because I know better. It's minor but I'm going to be puling at my shirt all day to make sure I'm covered.
    I blame monday. It's all monday's fault.

  • I woke up to a snowstorm. Fortunately no accumulation because it's been in the 70's and 80's up until a couple of days ago and the ground temp is still above freezing, so the yard is still green and the trees are blooming. But it's damp, dark, cloudy, and cold. My truck and elevated deck are both white, though. However the frogs in my fish pond in the backyard are still chirping, I guess the water is still warm enough.

I am SO over this winter crap, I just want some damn sunshine and warmth to last!

@hoodwink89 You have my most sincere sympathies. I'm sure you Northern Midwest folks are used to snow and such, but I think everyone is tired of it by now.
  • @neeraja_k this is the worst it's been in over 100 years. We broke so many records this weekend. I just want Spring time weather!

@kburg15 I am kinda jealous that your jeans still fit, I hope you kind find a solution to be a little more comfortable today. Why do we have to wear pants in public lol.

@mrsbubbles-2 I hate that game with clothes. I wore a normal shirt the other day because it was long sleeve. I had to keep pulling it down my belly.
  • The mobile app is driving me crazy.  Couldn't do anything all weekend because no matter what I did, I wasn't able to reply to anything. Logged in, logged out, re-installed the app, nothing! I could read posts but not interact! I'm on desktop now working.
  • @kburg15 I am still wearing "regular jeans" in a size up with the hairband trick a lot. My maternity jeans are actually cutting in to my bump today. Fun times.

@scottishlass1213 that's why I am hardly on here on the weekends at all.

AFM, my pants hurt and I am about to take scissors to them.
  • I want cake. I don't have cake. I can't leave work to get cake.

  • @lalala2004 I have leftover party cake I could ship to you ;)
  • @hoodwink89 I am not even going to complain about the shitty weather we are having. You win. Sorry!

    @lala2004- Now I want cake!

There is no way in heck I could squeeze my self into my regular pants. I am having trouble fitting into some of my maternity pants!

So it is cool again and raining with possible snow tonight. It was 80 on Saturday! Since it was so hot we turned on the AC only to realize it is not working right. DH went to school for HVAC and said we pretty much need a new one. So that sucks. Also because of the rain and wind we had last night DH found some shingles from our roof in the driveway! So guess we need a new AC and a new Roof!

  • Another rainy day, another pile of dickbags leaning on their horns outside my classroom window. The one good thing about my old school was that my classroom faced the schoolyard, so there was only a little noise at recess.

  • @mapleandbacon I'm sorry that your H is being stupid about food.

I'm sorry to all with the weather complaints. We have snow again as well.

My MBF is that my grievance has become THE gossip of the building, and since our head principal has just told us he is leaving the district next year, they are using his 'on-going investigation' as an interview question.
They have changed the names, dates, and *most of the particulars, but I'm pretty pissed about it.

  • I have another BF. Well it is once again time for the monthly lunch that I order for. I sent the menu on Thursday and told everyone to have their selection by noon today. I am still waiting on 5 people to respond. I just sent a reminder email. I do not understand how you can not just look at the menu and pick something. IT'S FREE! This is such a stupid thing but, it drives me up a wall!
  • @mapleandbacon I’m sorry about DH but serious LOL at “baby orca”
DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
  • @princesslockness I ended up with everyone responding but two. They get nothing! I had to put the order in 24 hours in advance so sorry you snooze you lose!

  • Another one here to have a BF about the weather. It is mid-April and we had a winter storm warning this weekend and there are sheets of ice everywhere. I'm tired of wearing jeans and leggings every damn day. I need warmth so I can wear maxi skirts and dresses and be comfy!

Also, major pink-eye outbreak at DS's daycare. Over the past couple of weeks there are just over 20 reported cases throughout various classrooms. Most of them are in the pre-K class (9), but there are a few in his and in the Preschool room (where he sometimes goes in the morning if we get there early). Granted there are a couple hundred kids at the center between before/after school care, kids that were there for spring break and the usual infant - young 5's, but still, that's a lot of kids! They had all the carpets cleaned this weekend, have been bleaching everything in site and upping the hand washing routines... I just am keeping my FX that it stays far away from us!

  • Another BF about the weather. I coach soccer and my kids had a tournament this past weekend. Yesterday’s windchill put us at 19 degrees and we had 2 evening games. WTF weather!?!
  • @Brezzy1928 How do people not take advantage of free lunch?

@lalala2004 Cupcakes sound freaking amazing right now! I've been thinking of these pina colada and margarita ones that came up on my Facebook days ago. I need them. But I can't have them. :[

@mapleandbacon Ooo...I'd be livid! My husband is pretty much the same when I ask if he wants anything in particular from the store when I go shopping. But he now knows to ask permission before he eats anything that might be mine. His ass is still sore from the last chewing it got when he ate the last of my Cheerios when he had his own Muesli box. So he's extra careful now. heh

@derbysquirrel I concur. Everything about today is stupid. I closed my eyes and laid back while I felt the baby move in my belly while humming along to some cheerful music. It seems to have helped despite the white-out going on outside.

After the second phone call/voicemail set from grandma today...I am feeling exceptionally stabby.

In getting the house ready for the realtor we were literally busy from sunrise to sunset yesterday, and I even finished up a few things hours after he went to bed. But that didn't stop grandma from calling me three times yesterday, each with progressively more unhinged and more panicked voicemails. She's called me twice so far today, also with accompanying crazy voicemails.

Yesterday? She was upset because mom hung up on her. Seriously. Because mom is also tired of hearing about how grandma's world is apparently coming apart, when she has her own selfish crappy life to deal with. The voicemails consisted of telling me that she can't see, and that she needed sympathy because she can't see, and sympathy because mom hung up on her, and that no one cares. I sympathize to a degree, but FFS, she hasn't been able to see for eight years now, when does the acceptance and just living with and trying to enjoy what you have left start?

Acknowledging the crazy just re-affirms to her that it garners her much craved attention, which is what we're not trying to support. The moment you give in and try to be caring and supportive, it's twisted around and abused. We're trying to get her to realize that she needs the constant help, attention, and companionship that assisted living could provide in spades to her. But trying to talk to her like an adult doesn't work, she just refuses to acknowledge the elephant in the room and denies she needs help....while begging umpteen people for help.

    Ugh.
  • I gave almost all my maternity clothes to my sister when she got pg. She then had twins and I never asked for them back. A couple months ago we were on the phone and she was telling me how hard everything was (twins not sleeping, she's exhausted, etc.) Then she mentions that she wants to pull the clothes together for me to send back. And I was adamant--I told her N-O, you have enough on your plate, do not worry about collecting them all, putting them in a box, mailing them back, etc. She insisted that she would but ultimately she never did send them back. Which I"m fine with--she has enough on her plate. But now I have no clothes. So I spent a ton of money over the weekend buying a new wardrobe to wear -- through August.  :s

  • @princesslockness Remind me that prison isn't a nice place? And that murdering her isn't worth it? :p
  • @neeraja_k Well its not a nice place, but its 3 square a day and lots of time to read or finish a degree or work out. They would have some great care for your insulin issues.

Also, pregnancy hormones might get you off.

  • I had an acai bowl for lunch today and a coworker just found it 100% necessary to inform me that 'Those are not really that good for you y'know?' I just gave her a blank stare until she finally walked off. This is the same coworker who just last week hounded me about drinking orange juice....

I'm only 22w and already so over everyone policing my pregnancy.
  • I'm annoyed I reported my VPN as not working at like 9AM this morning to IT.  It's almost 4 and nada.  I can do some basics and respond to emails but can't access my shared drive while I am working from home with the bathroom guys here.  My next day home is Wednesday and they better figure it out!
  • @mapleandbacon OOooooo H and I have fights about food. I'm very food-possessive. If you've ever seen a dog who has been a stray get fed, and how they growl at anyone who comes near, that's pretty much me. If I buy something specifically for me I have to make sure H understands he is not to even look at it.. lol. I feel bad for being so crazy sometimes, but damn - let a pregnant woman have the cheese she bought!

To bitch about clothes some - I bought these side panel maternity pants at Old Navy and from about 14 weeks til now, they've been amazing. But now I'm starting to get a bit bigger and the side panels don't do such a great job of holding everything up so they slide down a lot. Those full belly panels work much better. I've been tugging at my pants all day today. Ugh.

ALSO - I accidentally drank 3 day old coffee (with 3 day old creamer in it) this morning. I almost threw up.
  • I feel like crap. Had to start taking my anti nausea meds again because ms is happening again. I’m sore all over and exhausted from the weekend. The weather is currently a mix of snow, rain, & freezing rain. We have cub scouts tonight, and I just want to lay on the couch at home and sleep.
  • I fought the mobile app on friday, and lost. This weekend fought some more, and gave up. Work has blocked the bump from my desktop, meh. I just want the app to work like it did!
  • @mapleandbacon that would be frustrating AF but I’m dying at your comparison to baby orca. LOLLL

  • Argh! Our company health insurance is giving gift cards out if you do things on your own, like, completing questionnaires, logging your food diary, step counters, getting tests done at the doctor's office, webinars, etc. So I selected a diabetes webinar that was 59 minutes long...and I finished it. Then I accidentally clicked something and it started it all over! I didn't get to go to the "completion certificate code" that my insurance portal requires. And I can't skip through it. :s

Can you let it run in the background/in another window and continue doing what you want to do?

  • @princesslockness I can, which is what I'm doing. But with our crappy internet, I can't listen to Pandora/Netflix while it's going on at the same time. First World Problems, I guess. =/
  • I have to work overnight tonight and because I couldn’t get comfortable last night I only got about 5 hrs sleep, I tried to take a nap but that was unsuccessful. Wish me luck staying awake through the night
