Warning - snakes

So, my best friend is in the kitchen doing something, and I am trying to get in there with him. But there are four or five big snakes (like 2-3’ long) between me and him, including hidden under a small floor mat. They are either banded yellow and black or white and grey with triangular shaped heads.

I ask my friend if he knows what kind of snakes they are, but he just blows me off for whatever he is doing. One of the snakes starts moving in my general direction and I panic, because I can’t go any direction but through them. So, I run through them and crouch on the opposite side of the kitchen panicking, and my best friend still ignores me.

Another friend comes in from outside, and I warn her about the snakes, but she just walks through them (carefully to avoid stepping on them), but not with any real concern.

@cdepperschmidt - It was so weird. I don’t like snakes, but I don’t have a phobia- just a healthy respect for something that can send me to the ER. I don’t think I have ever dreamed about them before, and that dream stuck with me so vividly.

I had a weird dream I jumped off a cliff last night! It wasn't in suicide or anything just for "Fun" but I hate jumping off cliffs. Apparently I was brave in my dream!

I also had a snake dream! I was walking into my parents backyard and there was a HUGE black furry (yes furry, like a lion) snake. It’s head was enormous.. anyways, I can’t remember what happened to that snake but minutes later a normal snake crawled up my pant leg and I was freaking out.

I had a dream that I woke up, looked out the window and there was a huge hole in our front yard with water draining down it.. like lots of water and fast.. I blinked and suddenly it was a calm field of cows staring at me.

Those are the strangest so far.. lol.

I had a dream last night that I was going into labor....At 13 weeks. I've had a lot of weird dreams related to all that stuff recently, also had one where I was struggling to breastfeed and just ended up crying a lot. Probably my anxiety as a FTM playing out in my subconscious!

@knottieamusements @ohmotherofboys @cdepperschmidt I can't say I've ever had a snake dream before, but we did have a real live snake in our backyard last month. After a lot of internet research, we determined it was just a water snake, not a cottonmouth. Slithered away anyway, so farewell, creepy snake!

@jemmerjams We live near ponds and swamps on a back road so we see lots of snakes while out for walks... ugh.

I had the absolute dopest dream the night before last!

Aliens sent a message to earthlings in the sky, sort of like a giant movie screen. On the movie, they played bits of history and movie reels of things they liked about humanity.

In the middle of the show, they said what they liked best about humanity was...our depiction of aliens in Hollywood. They actually found it quite hilarious and genuinely enjoyed how dumb we are.

Which leads me to the final portion of the show; they said they wouldn't harm us, but basically that we're too feeble-minded to comprehend their level of consciousness and intelligence for them to allow us to know them. They simply wanted us to know that they exist and that we're dead wrong about how we view aliens.

**I have very cinematic dreams, even before pregnancy, but now they're even more vivid and because I wake up so frequently to pee in my REM cycle, I remember them much better!**

*tw* I had a dream where I thought I was in the very early stages of labor and went to the er. They did any ultrasound and said instead of one baby I had three sacs but one was empty and one wasnt far enough along to make it. I kept asking if the final one was old enough and ok. They did answer yes. *end tw*

Mt dream jumped ahead and I had an older boy and just had given birth to another boy. And I was home alone and didn't have diapers (but remembered free ones in my Amazon and noobie boxes!) attempted to breastfeed and was shocked when the kid said he needed to spit up and feeding attempt was done. Then I jumped to a Victoria's secret try out. I am a plus size lady to begin with so having a newborn and just having given birth it was so much more interesting. Lol

I had a good one a few nights ago. Preface, DH really did just have his wisdom teeth out.

Dreamed I woke up in the middle of the night horney. Wake up DH for sex. He’s going down on me, then pops up to say his eyeballs are falling out of his tooth holes, hope that’s ok with me. Apparently in dreamworld you have an extra set of full sized eye balls in the back of your mouth. I was pissed because 1) I was afraid he would choke on an eyeball while going down on me, 2) because I was grossed out that an eyeball in his mouth might touch my vag, 3) he’d just had a follow up with his densit and WTF didn’t you tell them your eyeballs were falling out. Then he tried to just spit said eyeball out and leave it on the nightstand but I was afraid it would dry up and the dentist wouldn’t be able to put it back in right.

I’ve officially lost my mind.

I had a crazy dream last night!!! In my dream, I was in labor and a friend from my Jan 17 BMB was my OB. I kept asking if a c-section was in the best interest of me and the baby and she wanted to do it but the main OB was like, “no, give it some time!” I almost cried (in the dream).

I only remember bits and pieces now, but it was so weird. Apparently my brother (who's 8) was super upset and let out all his emotions on this little mouse or something (not hurt it, just yelled at it). The mouse got so distressed it ate a rock. Some how my best friend from Chicago and her 8yo boy were involved and so was my job. It was so weird.

Here is a new one for me... Had a dream I went for some ultrasound and even though we told the tech and confirmed with everyone we didn't want to know and that it wouldn't even be put in our file I got a email from my midwife office saying congratulations it's a girl! I was not happy to find out before birth!

Had a dream I was driving and found a yard sale FULL of kids stuff so I turned around to get my mom and she wouldn't get in the car so I had to drive like 2 mph to follow her to the yard sale and there were so many things I'd never seen or heard of! There were like those plastic outdoor kid houses but a huge variety. Like little haunted houses, princess houses, cowboy houses, tons of them and it was the coolest dream lol now I can't wait for yard sale season!!

Had a dream last night that we were getting our boys in the car in a parking lot, got my oldest in there but then for some reason had to move the car ahead and I jumped in passenger and left my youngest that was right beside the car waiting to be put in, saying “he’ll be ok for a second” (HE’S ONLY 4). Got back out and these strangers were looking for him because he disappeared. I was a complete mess the rest of the dream wondering what happened to my son.
I couldn’t go back to sleep. I’m just relieved to know I would never do that in real life.. jeez..

I had a crazy dream last night in which we had a pet Otter that my husband and I bought from a sketchy local pet store, and we kept in our poodle Sandy's sleeping kennel. The otter only walked on its hind legs, human style and was really hissy. In the dream the otter starting going feral and bit me, started attacking the poodles so we decided we were going to give it to a zoo. When I woke up my arm that got bit in the dream was asleep and tingly.

I had a very vivid dream I gave birth to a girl. We will get our NIPT results between tomorrow and Friday so I'm very interested to know if this was foreshadowing or if it's just because I have 4 pregnant friends who are all having girls lol.

I just woke up from a nightmare about my ex. Somehow he had convinced me to move back in with him. But I find out as I am unpacking that the house is the only asset he has left and he is desperately trying to hold onto it; thst was the only reason he wanted me back.

It was around the holidays, and the ornaments were shedding glitter, and I had so much unpacking and cleaning and decorating to do. But I had to figure out how to leave him all over again.

I’m pretty sure this one is because I am worried about money and getting stuff done before baby gets here. But damn, its been six years and I still have nightmares about my ex trying to take me back.

@knottieamusements I have dreams about ex's semi-often, and I super hate it. Why??? And also, your earlier posts about snake dreams. I get those pretty regularly. And it's so strange because in my dreams I'm never "afraid", even though in real life I would be panicking.

I really wish I could remember more of my dreams, because I have had some really vivid, complete movie-plot style dreams. But I can never describe them. I guess last night I remember partially being pulled through water really fast as a means of transportation and having to dodge giant sea turtles. Don't know....

@hannaht8516 - Almost all of my dreams about my ex are nightmares, which I find super weird because I don’t think of my marriage as particularly traumatic- just loveless, sexless, and over.

But the dreams are different- he is always trying to get me back, either through violence (most often) or manipulation (last night’s). The manipulation ones are the worst, because those are the ones where my dream ex are most like my actual ex....

Last night's dream was like...a real-life version of Tinder.

So, single folks (or people who are looking to experiment outside of their relationship, which was my case, apparently) book a week, two weeks, or one month at a resort-type establishment. Everyone has agreed that they are available and you get a text setting you up with someone; you can either meet up or decline, but if you decline, you're immediately matched up with someone else and you essentially get together for a date...but more commonly, a fuck.

The catch is that if you attend this retreat with your partner and they're uncomfortable with the level of attachment you've made with another, they can terminate your relationship and you have to move on to the next person. In the dream, I actually liked this function for myself...but didn't like it when my partner used it. Even though we only used the termination once on each other.

The retreat set you up with all kinds of awesome clothes, makeup, wigs, toys, etc. so that you could be yourself or try new things, which was totally dope.

I kinda went nuts with my new-found freedom and as soon as I was done shacking up with someone once, I nexted their ass and did it all over again; often multiples in one day. Go me!

FYI - the disparity in feelings you highlighted above is super common in open relationships. It is probably one of the biggest difficulties people (especially couples newly opening their relationships) run into.

@knottieamusements Thanks! My dreams are usually pretty detailed and rad. Also, I can totally see how it would be difficult navigating those waters...I imagine insecurity comes out, even when you assume you don't have any by starting the process of opening up the relationship.

I had a vivid dream I finally remembered - I rarely remember my dreams which is so unfair!
This one was not one I wish to remember!

REAL LIFE backstory: Recently we found out one of our (not so close) couple friends who started dating around the same time we did are getting divorced because they couldn't conceive a child together and it put a strain on their relationship.

DREAM: My husband left me 8 months pregnant, because I was getting lazy and bigger and not giving him sex while pregnant. We separated and I ran to the guy friend who separated to ask him advice. This guy then told me he was in love with me from the beginning and wishes he dated me instead of his wife. I was feeling desperate because I didn't have a baby daddy and got together with him (even though I am not in the least attractive to him in real life!) Then found out by husband got together with his wife! So we basically swapped!

It was a very weird dream!

I was meeting DH for a baseball game with his parents. I was riding there with my friend her by and her parents, and left them when we got to the stadium.
I walked into like the lobby of a hotel because that's how you get inside apparently and found DH and he said we were being seated for a 5 star dinner while everyone outside was being seated.. so his parents and us are eating when I turn around and there's an adorable baby rhino laying down behind the chairs!! DH and I go to take a picture and he started posing for us like all these cute little moves and stuff then DH parents yelled at us for not enjoying the meal they paid for and I woke up
