How far along today? How big is baby? 28 weeks! Shes the size of an eggplant...that seems so big!
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Oh man, my body is already embracing all of third tri. I can't sleep all the sudden, I have to pee every 15 minutes, and the braxton hicks are REAL. They were terrible last night. Hopefully it's not going to be continuous until July....
Appointments/US this week I have a normal dr appt and an u/s to check growth next Tuesday. My son was 4 lbs 15 oz at delivery, much to everyone's surprise (my fundal height was fine for my whole pregnancy, and I didn't have any u/s after 20 weeks with him, so my dr was shocked when he came out so small), so I will be having some additional ultrasounds this time around. Excited to get some extra peeks at my little lady in third trimester!
Random Questions What kind of sunscreen are you planning on using for a newborn baby? What's the best? My son was born in November so it just occurred to me to think about this....
Rants/Raves Third tri baby!! It kind of snuck up on me honestly but now that it's here I am so excited!! I can't believe we get to meet her in 12ish weeks!
What is your favorite Spring/Summer activity? Summer is my favorite season by far. I love EVERYTHING about it. We are almost never inside in the Summer time. I love swimming, boating, hanging out at the river, going mudding/off roading in our jeep (I know, so typically mid western of me ), and grilling all the food outside. I can't wait for some warm weather!!

How far along today? How big is baby? 27 weeks, lettuce New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Hand/wrist hurting more. I think I sprained it doing farm chores 3 to 6 weeks ago. Appointments/US this week Next Wednesday is US and Doc is next Friday Random Questions Hemorrhoids if they ain't causing a problem do I need to do something about it Rants/Raves 1 week until 3rd trimester. Also while I failed my 1 hour glucose, I passed my 3 hour well under the limits What is your favorite Spring/Summer activity? Drinking beer on a warm day
@myfairbump yay for passing your 3 hour! Also yay for drinking beer on warm days. Day drinking is one of my favorite Summer activities for sure
As far as the hemorrhoids...I don't think they are bad so if they aren't bothering you they are probably fine. If they are, you can try Tucks pads for some relief. Hope they go away soon!!

How far along today? How big is baby? 27 weeks, lettuce. Last week was kale. So kale is smaller than lettuce...?
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Waking up every night for seemingly no reason (discomfort? indigestion?), but I eventually go back to sleep.
Appointments/US this week Nothing, but she's kicking, so I know she's in there!
Random Questions Is anyone taking time off of work before you're due? I've been thinking about it, but I also want to save my days, but then again, I haven't made any decisions about coming back, and in what capacity (full time or part time).
Rants/Raves Excited and slightly nervous to be approaching the third tri! So much to do, but I feel more on top of things now.
What is your favorite Spring/Summer activity? Going to outdoor festivals (but then I hate the mosquitoes and the sweating). Mainly for the milling around and the food. BBQs. Something about spring/summer feels a little more happy and carefree to me.
@stlmegs I got nothing on sunscreen, but thank you for the reminder!
@myfairbump I had hemorrhoids and they didn't bother me either, and they eventually went away on their own. Congrats on passing the 3-hour test!
@supersara2 I am for taking days off before. We are so short staffed and not hiring to replace those that have left or are leaving. I feel like it may be worth it to take a few long weekends.
@stlmegs I have no clue on sunscreen. We didn't wear any growing up and even now just wear like spf 10, except for face which my makeup has spf 50.
@myfairbump We are short staffed, too, but we are hiring, luckily. Long weekends sound like a nice idea, but I was hoping to take at least a full week or more. But then that'll cut into my leave, I think. Guess I gotta talk to HR again.
@stlmegs regarding sunscreen, our pediatrician recommended waiting until baby was at least 4 months old, and using shade (long sleeves, hats, umbrellas) in the meantime. It was one of the things I asked about during my interview with her before DD arrived late spring. I think it has to do with the sensitivity of their skin to the creams and just avoiding direct sun as a habit while they're so tiny. Once we started using sunscreen, we chose the Baby Organics brand.
@stlmegs I just asked my mom about this the other day and she said that with my sister (born in april 2008) she didn't use anything that first summer, just kept her in the shade or covered up, lots of bucket hats and bonnets! But she said the following year she used California Baby brand
