Hello! Another lurker here. I'll probably continue to lurk, but hope to participate in the dailies and get to know some other women on this journey. I'm, admittedly, at the very beginning, so I don't have much of my own wisdom to offer and definitely don't want to be that newbie asking for attention after what's only been a very short time of TTC so far. But I'll offer what support I can and continue to lurk!

    Ages (you and SO):
    I'm 31 and husband is 32

How many months have you been TTC? Been TTC for two months, one cycle

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Have installed FF and have started temping. I got off my Mirena IUD, and I'm not sure my cycle has regulated since, so some of the tracking has me confused. Would be pretty happy to just get AF and start from the beginning again at this point! I feel like I just now realized that I really knew NOTHING about this when we first decided to start TTC, and am only now starting to get a clue to the complexities it all!

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I am a librarian and book blogger, so that's my experience with online communities so far. Obviously that means I spend what some might call an unhealthy amount of time reading or writing about reading or working in a institution devoted to reading, but you love what you love! I also have two cats, who follow most cat stereotypes. An adorable boy named Tucker who is as happy and cuddling as can be. And a temperamental girl named Jaz who definitely wants to be on your lap until she wants to scratch you in the face instead.

@auburnvelvet86 as a book lover you may have read it, but Taking Charge of your Fertility is a great resource on what actually happens during your cycle and what different types of chart patterns can mean.

@meggyme - Thanks! Due to lots (LOTS) of lurking before even posting this, I have that one already ordered and on the way! I've also went down way too many internet research rabbit holes, so having a physical book in hand will hopefully put a stop to the nonsense Google searches I've been typing recently. I got a kick out of the "No, You're not Pregnant" thread, especially some of the nonsense searches there that looked waaay too familiar!

@auburnvelvet86 don’t worry about feeling you don’t know anything - there is a wealth of expertise here, plus if you ask a question you can bet ten other people were wondering and will be very greatful for the answers you receive! So you’re helping just by asking!!!

@tjthegoat check out the “you’re not pregnant” thread. It’s a tongue in cheek one where we let out all the crazy!

@retro_belle24 Fx for a better SA this time. If you don’t already listen I can recommend last week’s podcast from Beat Infertility where it’s all about male infertility. There are also some older ones on SAs.
Please feel free to join us on the IF thread too - it’s a bit quiet at the moment as we’ve had a tough couple of months as a whole, but you will find we have lots of IVF, PGD, male infertility and waiting experience between us. One of the big stresses in IF is all.the.damn.waiting. If you’re not patient already you will get a fast lesson in it!
If you’re doing your retrieval cycle in May then you will have me as a cycle buddy hopefully - I’ll be up for round number 4!

@emmasemm thanks for the recommendation. That one makes me LOL because it’s so ridiculous and so true. Last month I was trying to convince myself that I could possibly be pregnant even though I didn’t ovulate and I KNOW that’s impossible.

@TJtheGoat Welcome! I know how you feel. People don't know we are TTC either. My bestie does, but that's it and we don't really talk about it much because.. well, she doesn't really understand how hard it is for some people to get pregnant. She does empathize, I just hate to keep bringing it up.

@auburnvelvet86 Right?! There is so much to TTC that most people don't realize. I never realized how much there is to it, how important timing is, all the things that have to happen. I feel like I'm pretty much an expert now. I'm not really sure that's a good thing. lol

emmasemm thank you for the recommendations! I'll definitely check out the IF thread and the podcast :) Waiting has never been my strong suit so this process has been a real test for me. I'm coping with the waiting by focusing on fun weekly activities with my friends and family. I find that planning a date night or movies with my best friend helps me look forward to that rather than what the RE doctor or insurance is going to say next. I'm also working on being my best physical self by going to the gym and eating healthy.

DH did the SA this morning, results should be available in about 1 week and then its off to the ins. company for review. I'm hoping we have a decision by the end of this month.

@AdorkablePixie -- Yeah, I have a natural tendency to go into full on research mode for things like this, and you never know how much you don't know until you really dive into it all! I had a vague idea about the general cycle of things, but no real clue about the specific timing/ways to monitor/etc etc. And now my poor DH gets to listen to my updates daily, which I'm sure he's loving. After I tire him out on the subject, I'll move on to my sister, and then friend, and then...

@sparklingdiamond - my LT is a hug.  I'm so so sorry for your loss.  I can't even begin to imagine the pain you're going through.  Welcome to our group - I'm not sure if you know this and you can obviously disregard if you do but i wanted to reach my hand out anyway to say we have a TTCAL group here and there is also board dedicated to TTCAL if you need/want the extra support.  Again I'm just so so sorry for your loss. I know that doesn't help heal what happened though. I hope you're stay here is short and you can start to heal.

Ages (you and SO): We're both 30.

How many months have you been TTC?  **TW** Well, we're here again after having a MC at 8 weeks. It looks like the bleeding has finally stopped and I am waiting to get my period and kind of see what my new normal may be following this situation. We received our BFP in February, and now find ourselves back here in April. **END TW**

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Presently, BD not to TTC, just watching myself to see how I do and what my new normal will be cycle-wise before we actively pursue trying again. DH isn't 100% sold, but I think I have him about 95%.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Well, right now, we are moving next week to our new house because DH got a new job. He is a high school football coach and recently got a head coaching job. I am super excited, because we will be closer to the beach. We have one 3 (almost 4) year old son, and one angel baby. We have 2 yellow labs...Oakley who is almost 12 and Ava Lynn who is 1.5 years almost. Oakley is going blind and deaf and is a cantankerous old man, and Ava Lynn is a crackhead who is sooooo full of life and energy it is contagious. She loves SO hard. I have been a cheer coach for 9 years and I am recently transitioning back into all-star cheer from coaching high school. All-star is my passion so I am excited about that. My career is a guidance counselor, but I will be staying home next year because our son has one year left before Kindergarten, and childcare in the new location is absurd. SO, I will be staying with him. I also love essential oils and crafting. I make cheer bows and things in my spare time (no etsy shop, just for fun for myself and people here and there). I also make my son's decorations for his birthday parties and what not. Overall, we're pretty busy people but we have a good time.

@sparklingdiamond I am so sorry. Sending you hugs super tight. Our sons' birthdays are right around each other. I am so sad he is growing up.

@AdorkablePixie Thank you.  Awwh that's sweet. Oakley has always ran into stuff because he was raised in a  very small cage and never developed his depth perception. He was a rescue puppy that we got when he was about 6-7. He's a sweet love and I wouldn't trade him.

    Hi Lovely Ladies,
longtime lurker, first time poster here.  I look forward to learning lots from and offering support to everyone here.

Ages (you and SO): I am 34 and my hubs is 35.

How many months have you been TTC?

What are you doing to get knocked up?  All the things!  We started off casually and each month I’ve added another fetility aid (Opks, bbt, preseed, etc.) as I’ve gotten increasingly more stressed as the months have passed.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have a 2.5 year old son and a 9 year old dog (such a mix of breeds we dont have even the slightest clue what she is).  I work part time in sales and my hisband owns a small business.  I love to read, hike, craft, sew (just learning), and hang out with my son, my friends and my family.

@married_to_a_muggle Welcome! I hope that your stay here is short. I'm a Potterhead as well!

Ages (you and SO): I’m 38, husband is 44.

How many months have you been TTC?: JUST starting the journey; removed IUD this month with clearance to start actually trying next month. Still awaiting first cycle after the removal.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Unsure; husband has erectile dysfunction so we will have to get creative.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): We got married in December and met 3 years ago earlier this month (SQUEE!). He’s an elementary school health teacher and I’m in emergency management with the State of NH. Neither of us brought kids into the relationship (though I did miscarry in 2010), but we did bring 2 cats each. We are a busy household of 4 cats/jerks, 2 geeky humans, and assorted knicknacks showing off our geekdoms. I had bariatric surgery May, 2017 and am down a total of 104 lbs. I have clearance from the surgeon to start trying to get pregnant after my 1 year surgiversary. I plan to lurk for a while until we figure out how this whole journey is going to go. I’m a big Game of Thrones geek (books and show). I love books; right now I’m reading the Outlander series, but I’ve read the whole Southern Vampire series several times, Hunger Games, Divergent, Twilight (no judging), and various self-help books (majored in Psychology in college, these are fun for me). I crochet or read on Friday night game nights when my husband and his friends play Dungeons and Dragons.
