We our A/S today. Baby was not cooperative, so there were a couple of views of the heart that the tech couldn’t get a good picture of. I’m guessing I will hear next week from my Dr. if she wants anything re done. I was team green with my son, and underwhelmed by the experience, since finding out the sex was sort of eclipsed by my realization that I had survived the birth. This time we told the tech we would like to know the sex, if possible. I could tell towards the end that he was trying and not having any luck. Finally, he said “if I was forced to guess, I’d say boy.” I wanted to say “dude, no ones forcing you to guess. ‘Sorry, I can’t get a good look’ is perfectly acceptable.” Weird.
I would think they aren't supposed/allowed to "guess" like that. I agree with @amac12999 it would totally be in my head and I would start thinking it was a boy.
Today is A/S day!!! I am so excited but so nervous as well! I'm like Jessie Spano on speed!
@KonaCoffeeBean - I'm sorry your scan was like that and I agree with you and PPs - better to say you couldn't get a clear shot than say you'll take a shot in the dark.
Had my anatomy scan on Tuesday, and baby looked great except she is weighing over 10 ounces at 18w. My ob is sending me for an early GD test. She said at 28w they will start doing ultrasounds every appt to measure make sure isnt getting too big. I am so nervous now..

Try not to be too nervous. It sounds like they're on top of it plus sizing is usually very inaccurate on ultrasounds, especially towards the end. Based on one ultrasound I had at 39 weeks with DS1 he should have been 10 pounds and was 7.
Thank you! I am grateful to be getting extra ultrasounds, but now i am worried that i am not doing something right. I have only gained 1 pound so far so i thought i was doing good.
I was going to update last night but i just felt worn out. We had the a/s yesterday and they discovered two Choriod Plexus Cysts on LOs brain and You that I have a Single Umbilical Artery (SUA). Both of which alone are not common but not that alarming. But together they are soft markers for chromosomal problems. Plus throw in two inconclusive NIPT tests. They checked baby's organs and bone length and everything else looks perfect. We spoke with the MFM and a genetic counselor and they said basically our chances of anything being wrong were about 15%. Next option is amniocentesis. Which i really don't want to do. I have an appointment in an hour with OB so I am going to see what she says. It was really just a lot to take in.
LO was really moving in there and had their feet over their head. Also we got to see some baby yawns so that was great. DH really loved seeing the baby for the first time.
@Brezzy1928 I'm sorry your A/S didn't go the way you'd hoped. I hope your OB is able to give you some peace of mind today and help you decide whether an amnio is necessary. Big hugs to you - keep us updated.
@Brezzy1928 I'm so sorry the A/S was stressful - I know how overwhelming that can be. I hope your appt today gives you some reassurance. Now that I'm about a week removed from my amnio I can say that while the procedure was quite uncomfortable I am glad we did it. We chose the microarray testing with the amnio which takes two weeks so by early next week we will know for sure if there is anything to worry about. Good luck today.

@Brezzy1928 I'm sorry for the potentially scary news and lack of certainty. Obviously you never want to hear anything could be wrong but at least there is an 85% chance everything is totally fine! I hope the OB appointment goes well and you can figure out next steps. Please keep us updated.

TOTALLY this @brookeftm2018! My OB had me completely stressed out that I had some massive baby inside of me and I wouldn't be able to deliver him vaginally. My kid was 8lbs6oz.
@brookeftm2018 I had placenta previa too so I had a million U/S anyway. They always said he was huge. Then when she broke my water after I was induced she said, "oh wow, maybe you just had a TON of water". I don't really understand why that couldn't be measured on the U/S. But either way, don't let it stress you out.
I had my OB appointment but they didn't have the records from yesterdays scan and consult yet. They are literally in the next room over but whatever. Anyway OB said each thing is not a big deal. She isn't worried about them separately. Having them together isn't common though. She said we will just do ultrasounds ever 4 weeks with the MFM and maybe some stress tests later on. We are gonna just keep an eye on how the baby is growing. She said once they get the records they will go over them and see if anything changes. She said have an amnio is really up to me.
@Brezzy1928 - how are you feeling after the appointment? Not necessarily about the amnio but about everything? This is a lot to take in and it's ok to not have all the answers right now. It sounds great that your OB isn't worried and is ordering the scans just to check on baby. I'll be thinking of you and sending love and support
@mrsbubbles-2 I am kinda all over the place emotionally. I feel better in away but I am frustrated because it seems like I always have some complication or another. I know I just need to kinda step back and relax and realize it could be way worse.
@Brezzy1928 - I'm so sorry. I am going to say that sure, it could be worse, but that doesn't minimize your concerns about your baby and your feelings right now. It's perfectly ok to not be ok right now. And if you're not ready to relax you don't have to. It sounds so cheesy but feel your feelings sweetie and know that there's no 'right' way to feel or to be. @Brezzy1928 catching up.. sounds like what you’re feeling is so valid and normal. I definitely felt all those things after my A/S came back with anything at all “abnormal” about my baby. Many hugs and prayers to you. I am hoping in the next few days you will be able to digest more and be at peace with whatever you decide about the amnio! Please keep us updated! It sounds like your baby has a great chance at being just perfect.

I had my AS today and they found a cyst in the heart and two in the brain. My middle kid had two in his brain and is fine. Just having the heart one on top of the two in the brain is freaking me out. The doc said if I hadn't had the harmony test done then they would have suggested that.
It sucks not knowing exactly what is going on and not getting a "everything looks great" response.
@mrsbubbles-2 thank you the midwife basically said that if I hadn’t had the harmony and shown low probability of DS that they would have suggested I get that test. But since my probability is so low it’s just like whelp, it’s probably fine? I don’t know. Just seems so weird. Of course I do an internet search and everyone else gets level 2 scans.
Just doesn’t help that this week has been hard and DH is out of town. My 18 month old is acting like a devil child.
@Brezzy1928 I’m glad they have a plan as far as the extra monitoring goes but I’m sorry that it’s just more stress. I wish they could’ve given more of a direction on the amnio. Are you leaning towards getting one or no? Even though things could be worse, everything you feel is valid and no matter what it’s upsetting. Sending hugs and hoping you can get some time to relax this weekend and de-stress a little.

@mrs_drc_rn nope. Since my harmony came back with low probability they don’t want to do anything further. I’d think I’d at least get one more scan. So annoyed.
