Just Curious Who Is Pregnant via IVF

Sorry if this is a repeat, I didn't have anything come up with a search.
I'm just wondering if anyone else is pregnant via IVF (if you're comfortable sharing that). My situation is a bit different as I am a surrogate, but still went through the whole IVF process.

If you did do it and did PIO injections do your injections sites still hurt? Mine are still tender to the touch and if I run after my kids the jiggling hurts. I stopped injections 7.5 weeks ago. I know it can take awhile, but I guess I thought it would be less by now.

Re: Just Curious Who Is Pregnant via IVF

  • I am pregnant this time naturally but our son was conceived using IVF. I can't remember exactly how long they hurt but I know they hurt for a good amount of time. Those were horrible, especially towards the end of taking them when the area was so sore and tender already!
  • Yes! The last two weeks were brutal. Congratulations on getting pregnant naturally!

  • Thank you! After five years of trying for the first and then doing IVF/two frozen embryo transfers we finally got our first. Was told it was pretty much impossible for us to conceive on our own but found out not only are we expecting but I'm pregnant with twins! I think it's awesome that you are being a surrogate, infertility is the hardest thing we have ever dealt with and so many people do not understand how some struggle to make their family.
  • Yes i am pregnant via IVF and yes i do still have some pain from the PIO shots.  The knots have gone away but the pain still lingers. I wonder how long that is going to happen??
  • @janiquecantey the more I ask around in my surro groups the more it seems that it can last for 6-12 months  :/ I've been getting sharp pains in the area every once in awhile which are super obnoxious. Fingers crossed that we all are on the shorter end of the spectrum and it doesn't last a year!

  • I’m pregnant unassisted but have done IVF previously. I never did the PIO so I cannot give a timeframe there but I also think it’s great you’re being a surrogate. IF sucks and it’s nice you’re helping others.
