My first UO today should really just be 'everything is dumb.' I'm in one of those moods.
That said... Don't care about the Facebook news and continuing debacle. Zuckerburg isn't responding well but, people, you put your info on a worldwide internet database, what did you think was going to happen?
Not sure if it's an UO, but also am tired of trying to be empathetic to people that don't help themselves. I know I should be a supportive friend, but I'm over it. Yes it is super hard to find someone here, but I don't feel bad when you mope about being single if you don't prioritize dating and putting yourself out there (not over everything, but you've got to put in a little more effort than hoping someone will magically come along.) Especially when there are people that want to date you, that you're attracted to, and you back away. Dive in or stop being sad about it.
@chopchop25 I've kind of ignored the whole FB thing because I just *assumed* that kind of thing was happening when I was putting my whole life out there for the world to see.
@hellopartyof5 okay I admit its overrated but I still think it tastes good!!
@chopchop25 Yeahh. DHs mom is one of those types. I can't stand it. Andplusalso whoever has all my info now is gonna see some super cute baby pictures (appropriate ones as I know there are creeps) but that's about it. Oh well.
My UO (since reading one of the other threads) is that I really don’t like Tim Hortons. There is one right around the corner from my house and I think their coffee is terrible. I will drive the extra mile to Biggby or Starbucks to avoid Tim Hortons. The only think that is ok there are the doughnuts, and even then there are places that are so much better for doughnuts.
I have never been to a Tim Hortons. Just looked and they don't have any locations in GA. I guess I'll have to try it next time I visit my family in MI.

My UO: I’m not really into maternity photo sessions. While I may be convinced otherwise, I doubt I will do maternity photos. I appreciate pregnancy, but I am not one of those people who thinks pregnancy is beautiful and all that Jazz. IMO, it is a means to an end.
:::runs and ducks for cover::: ::disclaimer: this is not meant to offend anyone who loves pregnancy photos, I’m just not one of them::
@ladyofarlington With you on the maternity photos. I’d rather spend the money on cute newborn photos. Nobody needs to see that many photos of me looking like I swallowed a watermelon!
Im in the same boat in regards to "a means to an end". I'm miserable. And I don't see it getting much better. I'm already uncomfortable and I see that getting worse. I can't wait for the end result, but pregnancy isnt exactly the most fun experience.
@spartan4life See, I'm the opposite. I can't stand Biggby and I only like Starbucks for their specialty drinks, which I can't drink all that often because I don't like drinking sugar or calories. Tim Hortons is my boring, straight black coffee coffee. It's cheap and it doesn't taste burnt. Lol
@ladyofarlington I am with you on not enjoying being pregnant and not even liking bellies.. but I did a maternity shoot with my first so feel like I HAVE to with this one too! That being said, they aren't like nude belly pics, just kinda normal pics, and they aren't even out anywhere lol. I actually am in the midst of securing a date in July, of course when it will be 1 million degrees here in FL and my package is with a newborn shoot too.
@DunkinDecaf YES! I also think the high-low trend is strange, in both shirts and skirts/dresses. In shirts I actually like my butt, why cover it up! And dresses, why do you want to look at the ugly inside of the fabric...
I have never paid for a professional photo shoot of myself in my life, not even at my wedding! Not even once for my son who is 2.5! Not my thing either.

I eye-roll maternity photo sessions. Again just personal preference but I'm with ya. But it's not about babies - I don't like engagement photos either. It just feels weirdly self-indulgent.

This is why you surround yourself with amateur photographers...

@chopchop25 I'm with you! My friends who refuse to put themselves out there or try even a little to date, won't do online dating, won't be set up, won't go out to meet anyone, have insanely high standards and then complain about being single are frustrating. Are you magically waiting for Prince Charming to break into your apartment? lol

@chyvie We’ve had Tim Hortons forever, but we were the only area in the country for a long time. I remember when they were good, but then they changed something. It was either a new supplier or the same supplier but different way of doing things. Things went drastically downhill with that change - the doughnuts started tasting off, the food in general didn’t seem as fresh and the coffee started tasting burnt half the time. We still go there sometimes, but only get bagels and if we’re desperate, coffee (only because it’s the closest coffee place to our house). I prefer Starbucks (but not their food) or Spot Coffee (a local chain with good coffee and food).
I did engagement photos and spared no expense for wedding photos because I adore photography. But I don't really get maternity photos. I'm not sure why.
I think people just go way too over the top with the photo sessions these days. I feel the same way about doing professional photos for every 6 months worth of birthdays. I did newborn and one year. We just did my SS's senior portraits. I like family photos every few years. But other than that, I'm not dishing out $200-500 on the photographer and the clothes every chance I get.
I am friends with a photographer and I get them super cheap. I did a maternity sesh and it was literally the only time I felt pretty ever. Probably because there was an excuse for how ginormous I was verses now when its all just pizza. Thats the only reason I liked mine. Otherwise newborn sessions are wayyy better. I wouldn't do either if I wasn't getting a good deal.
With everyone on photo shoots! But with this being our last we decided on doing maternity photos this time around. More like I gave in cause I got sick of arguing with him. The problem is I’m not cute pregnant... I hope the girl he hired is a photoshop goddess haha. The good news is we will be doing them in fall so yay boots and scarfs!! But i have never had professional photos done for my family.. I agree with @knottieamusements just find a friend who has a semi decent camera and buy her supper after.
I’ve only tried Tim Hortons once and can’t remember it. I hate caribou coffee. If I’m getting a coffee I’d just go to a gas station. But I’m not much of a coffee drinker!
I don't get the over-the-top maternity shoots with formal gowns and floral headpieces and tons of props. However, I have always wondered what my mom looked like pregnant and there are no photos, so I'd like to make sure I have a few of me to show my kids someday. I'm going to ask a (non-photographer) friend who has a camera that's better than my iphone to snap a few pics of me and my husband this summer lol

Didn’t do maternity photos with my first. Not that I don’t like them, but just seemed like a waste of money. Not like I was going to print them and hang pictures of just myself all over my house. This time I want to get some done. But not just of me. More like family photos with some big brother and baby bump shots. Those I feel I will actually get more use out of.
I like avocados and nutella!! Not together of course lol Never been to a Tim Horton, but Dunks is my Favorite!!! I admittedly spend waaayyyy to much money there...
+12 on the maternity photoshoots are dumb. Like, you know who wants to look at 30 pictures of me while hugely pregnant? Legit no one. Honestly, same with newborn photographs- I get taking some yourself, but I dont need a picture of my baby sleeping inside a pumpkin, or wrapped up with a bow 4 times the size of its own head. I would rather someone take a snapshot of me rocking my baby to sleep while I make coffee in my kitchen or something.
I agree with maternity and engagement photos being cheesy and self-indulgent. We’ll probably do our own with my belly and DS, but I don’t have my heart set on it or anything. We did newborn pics last time and didn’t use them for anything except the birth announcement. Maybe we’ll frame a couple one day.
My OU: sitcoms are super lame, especially the latest sitcom reboot trend.
I just don't know what you are supposed to do with maternity photos besides post them on social media.
My UO can go off of that topic as well: I absolutely HATE the way newborns are posed for pictures. Why is your kid naked in a basket?! Why is he stuffed in a baseball glove? Why is she wrapped in a piece of cheese cloth? I just don't get it.

@acciocoffee wrapped in a cheese cloth lmfao. I'm crying with laughter. I think I'm going to do only this one and blow it up on canvas hahaha

@Lisa3379 I mostly agree on the sitcom thing. Most are not funny at all. I have a few that I adore and can watch over and over again, but I can't stand a lot of the popular ones.
@acciocoffee I hate the posing for newborn photos! It's so unnatural and weird! The costumes are over the top. I put DS in a pair of pants a couple different cute hats and he just kind of laid there and stared at the camera. He was about 3.5 weeks because I wasn't originally planning to do newborn photos, so he was a little old for the typical poses and I'm totally fine with that.
UO: you don't need to post the exact same thing on Instagram and Facebook. Do you really have all different friends on one than the other? I use them differently I guess because I rarely double post the same thing on both. But my friends post their damn zoo selfie on Insta and hit the "share" button so it's posted to FB, too. It's all the same freaking thing on both my feeds - It just makes me want to get rid of FB.

@sarazett I don't have an instagram for this exact reason. Almost everything on my FB says it was shared from Instagram. I have friends on FB that don't have Instagram, otherwise I'd probably make a full switch.

you go, girl! I deactivated FB for 4 months last year and it was so freeing. I regret going back haha. I may get rid of it again.
