Hey all! Question, I had my 28 week appt yesterday and my OB has requested starting at 32 weeks weekly NST, and ultrasounds for growth at 32 & 36 weeks.. This is my 4th pregnancy, and all my other pregnancys I have had a "high" bmi (I am only 5"2), but have had no complications with any of my births or pregnancies at all, I have great blood pressure and have done a great job maintaining my weight of only gaining 6 lbs this far.. I can't help but to wonder if it is really necessary to go in weekly for nst's. have any of you experienced a similar situation?
Well, since I don’t know you, haven’t an inkling about your comprehensive medical history, and most importantly am not a doctor, I would certainly not advise against what your OB has recommended. It would probably be a good idea to further discuss this with your OB and see if there were any other reasons they have made this recommendation. I’m of the belief that I should trust my doctor more than a group of internet strangers. If that’s not the case for you, maybe you need to find a new one.
a) you posted this twice b) we don’t typically do one off posts like this. If you would have lurked a bit you would see that there are multiple members of our BMB that are going though NSTs for various reasons c) speaking of our BMB, we are an established group of mamas that have been getting to know each other since October. We all here to support each other, not to just pop in and ask our own personal very specific questions d) we aren’t doctors. If you’re doctor is recommending something I would trust them over internet strangers. If you are questioning their recommendation, then you should get a second opinion.

Ouch. Rude much? Just looking for some extra reassurance. So much for woman supporting woman. I used these forums a lot with my prior pregnancies and with this one have not but the woman I did connect with previously were great and super supportive, unlike the vibe I am getting here.
This is why measles are back, because people are asking internet opinions instead of listening to medical professionals. If your Dr feels it's needed, it's probably needed. If you're concerned, talk to your Dr about your concerns. No one should be dispensing medical advice via the internet. Especially not random women who may or may not be medical professionals. That being said, if you'd like to stick around and get to know us, we'd love to have you. Join some of our other threads, answer questions, talk about yourself and baby. We'd love to chat.
I surely vaccinate myself and my children. I was looking for other people with maybe the same experiences. I search in the threads and didn't see exactly what I was looking for. Not sure how to delete my posts, but I will surely NOT be joining anything with you unsupportive woman.

Sorry that what you did was the equivalent of walking up to a group of 100% strangers (who all happen to know each other, just not you), not introduce yourself, and expect us to drop whatever other conversation we were having and cater to your specific needs. Which happened to be a question about medical advice. And we are still not doctors.
@BurlapandLace I was definitely going to say something alluding to prehistoric cave women... “Me woman. You woman.”... but I’m somewhat trying to mind my p’s and q’s here.
If you're looking for extra support but have no interest in getting to really know your companions, might I suggest a really good bra? They don't mind being used and abused with nothing in return.
