@TheSouffleGirl biscuits are a major reason I love that we are currently living in the south. Had brunch yesterday and couldn’t get enough of the biscuits!
For me, plain yogurt is currently my jam. Usually it sucks but I’m loving it for breakfast.
I have suddenly lost my appetite and have had a few rough days of not being able to keep much down, but right now, the only things that are hitting the spot are tomato juice and lemons. Like, entire lemons.
This pregnancy has been strange lol. I'm a coffee lover but I can't stomach it at all. It's just nasty. Usually I have a sweet tooth like no one else, but again the sweet stuff just grosses me out. I'm craving water and that's about it. I'll be starving and looking through the fridge, freezer and cupboards and can't find anything to eat lol
@4kids2018 If you're still wanting the boost, you ought to try chai lattes. I get the Tazo chai tea concentrate at the grocery store (Target always has it) and do half milk, half concentrate over ice. It's delicious and it doesn't give me a headache if I skip it one day like coffee did.
So last night after dinner (in my defense, 4 hours after) my husband made a Taco Bell run and I promised myself I wouldn't make it a habit but now I want it again tonight. My first official craving is garbage food.
@MouseMama817 so chai is okay? I have some vanilla chai I’ve been wanting to drink but dr google had mixed feelings on what spices could be in chai. I don’t see my dr until the 10th so I wasn’t sure
@pink_polkadots You're kidding. I thought if I stayed under the 200mg rule I was fine. I have to worry about the freaking spices? Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll be bringing this up on my appointment on the 9th.
ETA: Google mentions the star anise specifically. Is there anything else I should ask about that you read?
@MouseMama817 I don’t know for sure. A quick google search was all I did and some said hey it’s ok, others were like no there are some herbs and spices that COULD be in it that aren’t safe. I hate google.
@pink_polkadots@MouseMama817 I'm going to get the two of you confused with your avatars! I didn't Google chai tea or ask my doctor, but I can't imagine it would be bad for you in normal consumption quantities. If you had 10 cups a day then maaaaaaybe the spices/herbs might be a concern, but I doubt it's a problem just having a cup of chai every once in a while. And anyways, I think the normal bagged chai you'll find at the store probably doesn't have many herbs in it...I think it's just spices. So I say go for it!
@offtoneverland A point I read on Google mentioned that WebMD (where I saw the warning after @pink_polkadots heads up) has little qualms with most prescription meds but raises a lot of red flags on herbs, which is suspect. Sounds like a pharma debate but it's comforting in the meantime until I can speak with my doc. Of course I wont be drinking it until then
@4kids2018 I love my coffee usually and cannot stomach it either. With DD my aversion was eggs. Up until she turned 6 months I could not stomach eggs in any form. This time I woke up one day a couple weeks ago and couldn't stomach coffee or the smell of it and same goes for chicken. I've been going the chai route too but will definitely ask my midwife at my appt on friday!!
Okay who’s got some sour hard candy recommendations. I went to Target the other day and the only hard candy I saw was jolly ranchers but I think I need something sour.

@wamam027 did you ask about the chai tea thing by any chance?
@MouseMama817 sorry, just saw your edit. Everything I read was super vague and unhelpful, but enough to be like ehhhh. The star anise was the main thing I saw people say, but there were other forums where people were saying how they were concerned enough to give the tea up during pregnancy just because of the poisoning’s of the herbs and spices not being safe. Like I said though... nothing factual or concrete.
@pink_polkadots So funny you just tagged me in this thread because you were who I posted in another thread about asking about hard candy but I couldn’t remember who had asked. <——did that sentence even make sense? Anyways, I just read somewhere that lemon heads help to alleviate nausea and they sound sour.
@pink_polkadots i agree with @MouseMama817 about the lemon heads, although i do love jolly ranchers! I am trying so hard to eat healthy, but can't stomach salad or veggies after a few bites. I almost made my husband get me chick fil a last night... I've never even had it before but nothing sounded better!
Been having salads lately and when I think of eating them I wanna yak, but once I take the first bite they're ahhhmazingly tasty.

I just went on an overnight trip out of town with some family who don’t know I’m pregnant and I was nervous about being constantly hungry so I brought snacks to avoid drawing attention to myself: wheat thins, Archer FarmsTex Mex trail mix from Target, and Dove dark chocolate covered almonds. The night before I left for the trip I was eating raw broccoli and ranch with Starburst jelly beans on the side.
Normally all I want to eat is carbs carbs and more carbs but this baby doesn’t like them. I made egg/veggie/sausage cups and cheeseburger pie (which looked disgusting but was delicious) and was able to keep both down.

I bought a Red Lobster brand mix and then I made it and then I proceeded to eat six.
