I finally got my results back last night! I don't know what my actual numbers were for the first draw, but the doc said there was a "great" increase (of over 15000 when I asked him to specify) in 48 hours.
So now I am less anxious and cautiously optimistic about this pregnancy. I know I still have 4 weeks to hit that "safer" zone. But this will help me relax a bit.
Got my results back. My hcg was 27.2. I worry that is low, since I got positive test results on Friday and these results were from Tuesday. Seems like the hcg should be higher than that. They didn't test my progesterone but they are going to put an order in with the lab to have that tested as well. So I should get those results tomorrow. Go back on Friday for follow up beta but then wont know results of that until Monday. Have a sinking feeling right now.
Thanks @mockingjay1. It is difficult with irregular periods to know when I actually ovulate and I gave up tracking since it was just causing me stress. With my daughter I started with low hcg (29) but that was on the day my period was due. So I'm wondering with this one how I would have had enough hcg in my system on Friday to turn the test positive but only be at 27 4 days later. We will see what Fridays results bring.
@purplefan1 I'm so sorry for the stress you're going through. Did you test with a FRER? They are crazy sensitive. I know someone who turned a FRER when her hcg was something crazy low at like 4. So it's definitely possible that you started out with a super low number but it's increasing appropriately. But it's so stressful and easy to be worried. Good luck with your follow up beta on Friday! I'm sorry you'll have to wait through the weekend for the results.
@offtoneverland I used the walmart ones and got a faint line on Friday. Used a clear blue and got a definitive pregnant with darker lines on walmart one Monday. Last chemical in September I couldnt get the digital to change for a couple of days after the walmart one showed two lines but then I finally did....and then the next day found out my progesterone was nil and the hcg was 13. So still hopeful but it will be what it will be. Oddly enough I'm having more and more pregnancy symptoms over the last two days (sore boobs now and nausea all day today) so maybe just a slow initial riser? We will see! I'll consider myself pregnant until someone tells me otherwise. :-)
@purplefan1 sorry you’re dealing with this! Are you on any progesterone right now? Good luck!! I hope your numbers are just slow risers since it’s a huge range.
TW- I’ve been TTCing since May of last year after I weaned my DS (weaned at 16 months, he turned 1 in May). I had 3 losses after that. All super early (less than 6 weeks). Then I got tested for the MTHFR mutation and I came back positive. Since then, I’ve been on supplements and baby aspirin. I also started progesterone this pregnancy the moment I got the BFP.
I was surprised but they didn't test progesterone initially on this blood test. I just assumed they would. So they requested the lab to retest that and I will get those results tomorrow.
I've been having difficulty since weaning mine when she was 10 months (turned 1 in June). Frustrated that my doctors office doesn't seem overly concerned. I'm also 36 so I feel time ticking. :-(

I'm unsure what my beta number is from Tuesday, they won't give it to me "until I get the second one" today. *rolls eyes*. I hope they work it stat so that I can get the number today. My anxiety is so high and out of control that I just don't know what else to do.
I've been taking HPTs weekly since we got the BFP 2/26 and the lines have gotten steadily darker to the point that the test line is darker than the control line. Is that a good sign? I honestly am driving myself crazy in the process.

I honestly believe getting darker lines is a good sign, but that's me. I bet they didn't want to tell you original number because people (like me!) put so much stock in that first number. But the number doesn't matter, the doubling does.
Hoping they get your data back stat to provide you some relief!!!
@purplefan1@oaklandava I honestly believe getting darker lines is a good sign too! Last week, I tested for 5 days straight just to compare the lines. If nothing more, it gave me a sense that things were going the way they were supposed to.
Question for everyone. So far, my results have been the following:
Would you be concerned about the small drop in progesterone, as long as everything else is improving? My doctor said that he wasn't concerned in the slightest, since progesterone levels fluctuate throughout the day and his concern was just that I was above 12, which was no issue.
I finally decided to get my levels checked and it came back at “a little over 1000”. Why she couldn’t just give me the number is beyond me, but whatever. I go back tomorrow for my follow up. Guess we will see where we go from here.
@ginny_203 - I wouldn't worry about your progesterone levels. They are both pretty high and hardly different. With everything else going well, I'd feel pretty good if I were you!

@ginny_203 those progesterone levels are awesome. My office told me the same that they want them over 12. Mine was 15 and they said they weren't concerned.
@tgortney mine in my last healthy pregnancy didn't double every 48 hours but they did every 72 hours. So I would say that looks like a healthy trend! Are you going to get any more betas done?
@purplefan1 I’ll be 6 weeks on Sunday and my midwife said that my levels are rising so they don’t think I need anymore betas. I am getting my ultrasound moved up to 7w2d though!
Got my second HCG results today and halle-freaking-lujah they doubled! 737 on Tuesday and 1836 Thursday. I'm still not out of the woods but I'm so relieved to have that encouragement. My hands start sweating every time I have to get on the phone w/ my OB's office.
@MouseMama817 I called twice today. The first time I left a message for the nurse. Usually that’s enough to get a call back. The second time I called and they had closed early. Unless they put it up on the portal, which I doubt they will, I won’t know until Tuesday. They are closed Monday.
I'm with you @kbrown2385. I did my second beta this morning and asked with hope if they would call this afternoon and they definitively said no. So some time Monday. I'm figuring there isn't anything I can do no matter if I know the results today or Monday so I am just enjoying being pregnant today!
So I had my labs done on Thursday and my HCG was 17,763 and then today Monday and it was 35,970 but my progesterone is dangerously low at 6.6. So my HCG didn’t quite double in the 48 hour period, it took 4 days. I did have an US and they said baby was measuring perfect with a HB of 134. I’m 7 weeks today. They are starting me on progesterone tomorrow but has anyone ever had this low of a progesterone and had a successful pregnancy? I’m terrified
I had my first round done Tuesday- they were 102, second round was 148. I did a third today and am anxiously waiting, although I can't say I'm terribly optimistic.

My redraw is 304. I'm going in tomorrow for another draw and an ultrasound to rule out ectopic. EIther way, I was told this was likely. It a viable pregnancy.

@pear2012 but wouldn't 148 to 304 be doubling? I keep staring at the numbers (refusing to take out a calculator) but that's slightly over double if I can math right. (296 for a double...right?) I hope tomorrow brings you better news than you are expecting!!

You're right on her numbers, but her first draw was last Tuesday and her third draw today. @Pear2012 - I'm really sorry you're going through this. Being in limbo absolutely sucks. I hope you get some answers tomorrow.

So as you can see they are rising really really slowly and I'm meant to be 5w6d but I suspect I'm a bit behind that as I had a MC in Feb and my cycle was all over the place.
I'm losing hope especially after everything I've read. Doc saw what might have been a sac yesterday but went in today and it had disappeared. This would be my third MC after a mostly healthy preg with my DD who is two now. My doc can't find anything on my tubes but it's still too early to be sure. Did another blood roday so we will see what it is.
I'm so sad, I don't know what to do. I guess I will just have to wait.
