I don't feel like making a special thread but since I posted in this one I figured I'd share. I had my second beta drawn Saturday morning then ***TW started bleeding Saturday afternoon through this morning. I called my OB and my second level has gone down. I'm in so sad. End TW// I wish you all a happy healthy 9 months and I hope after healing I'll be able to join another bump group ❤️
@Gingersnap_mama oh no girl! I am so so sorry to hear that! Please take care and be kind to yourself when you are feeling ready I highly recommend joining the TTGP board, specifically the weekly TTCAL thread. There are so many amazing, supportive ladies there *hugs*

Gingersnap_mama, I'm so very sorry to hear this. Please be kind to yourself right now. I second @lurvleybunchococonuts recommendation for the TTCAL thread on TTGP if you need a place to go for some support. Again, I'm so sorry.
I’m so relieved my progesterone has been trending down in my first couple draws and this time it finally came back up! 9dpo hcg 87 progesterone 14 16 dpo hcg 1,306 progesterone 12.9 23 dpo hcg 22,400 progesterone 20.4!! hoping this is all good signs!!!
At 6 weeks, 6 days my HCG levels were 36,800 and baby's heartbeat was 122bpm.
Question- what do you guys do to test your levels frequently? My triage nurse was against it because she said it shows nothing and they only test if you think you are miscarrying. What has everyone else's doc said on the matter of HCG levels?
@shastasky I had mine checked multiple times because I conceived using IVF. I only had it checked twice because my levels were rising correctly but if they weren't I would have had it checked again. With IVF you have a higher risk of ectopic pregnancies and if your levels don't rise as expected it could be indicative of an ectopic pregnancy.
Infertility Journey (in spoiler because it's way too long and child/loss mentioned)

@shastasky I conceived with the use of Letrozole (fertility medication) which has a higher risk of multiples and since I had quite a bit of spotting before my BFP and then even more after it, they wanted to ensure I was doubling correctly. As @marfi236 said, to rule out ectopic.

My OB practice does standard HCG draws for anyone regardless of history. They keep drawing until you hit 500. They told me it was to rule out ectopics.
So my doc sent me to re-do the beta draw (after the lab at the ER screwed up the test). He texted yesterday saying the results from Monday were "adequate" (which freaked me out and I made him clarify -"normal range for this gestational age") And he sent me for a follow up beta today, to make sure things are progressing. Probably have to wait until at least tomorrow, if not the next day for results. I'm trying to stay calm and wait. The nausea has been intense, and the spotting has stopped. All good signs.
@babybrain2018 yup, waiting is the worst! Let’s play “second guess every feeling in my body until I get the next lab result” followed by the sequel “obsessively googling lab result to see if it’s normal” Or maybe that’s just me? Lol FX!
3/9/18 - 9dp6dt = 117 3/12/18 - 12dp6dt = 336 Doctor was happy with this - we scheduled my first ultrasound for 4/2. Had a bleeding scare on Monday/Tuesday (3/19-3/20). 3/21/18 - 21dp6dt = 10,808
So grateful it seems like this pregnancy is progressing. Really nervous/excited for the ultrasound next Monday!

I want to request beta draws due to a history of loss including one in between my daughter and this pregnancy. It was actually the beta draw last time that told me that pregnancy was going to be a no go. But I don't know how my doctor's office will respond if I request. It would help reduce some of my anxieties until I get to April 18th for my first scan. Any advice on how to assert myself and ask?
@purplefan1 I just called my family doctors office and said I needed to have the pregnancy confirmed. I went through my fears and the loss I had and she ordered the beta hcgs for me right away, along with scheduled an us. We’re still following up on that to make sure I’m not following the same path as last time, (loss last Jan, followed by a cp) but she had no problems ordering everything up for me. (Not scheduled to see my high risk on-gym until next week)
@purplefan1 I told my doctor that I’d like to get beta draws because of a previous loss and my doctor had no issue with me doing it. Just ask, I can’t imagine he/she would push back since it’s extremely common to get done especially with a history of loss.
Side eyeing the receptionist at the office who snarky said "do you actually know you are pregnant?". Well...I've gotten some positive tests and I'm late on my period. "Then they don't need to do any blood tests since you have already confirmed it and they will just see you for your scheduled visit."
I had to assert myself to say that based on history of loss I wanted the draws to make sure levels are normal. Hate that she seemed annoyed by me but I know it is important for me to assert myself early on, otherwise i have experienced offices that just push you around. Bah. Going at 2 today for blood draw. Which unfortunately coincides with nap time. Oh well. Hopefully it will reduce some anxiousness.
