Saturday Ticket Change

Doing this now so I don’t forget...

Ticker change simply means that you have started a new week of pregnancy.  For example, if you go from 9 weeks to 10 weeks on Saturday 3/17, your “ticker” changes on Saturday. It is our way of marking a milestone.

Questions stolen from @knottieamusements

1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

2. How are you feeling?

3. Any appointments this week?

4. Rants/raves/questions?

5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)

Re: Saturday Ticket Change

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 8 weeks - again! (Got bumped back by a week after my u/S)

    2. How are you feeling? Still pretty good other than tired. Mild waves of nausea every so often and sore boobs when I take my bra off but otherwise totally normal.

    3. Any appointments this week? Nope - had my first midwife apt and ultrasound this past week so nothing until 12 weeks now.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Not this week - looking forward to actually getting to 9 weeks! Going to be telling my brother and sister in law when we see them this weekend and then dhs family on Easter so looking forward to that as well!

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
Right now I work with individuals with disabilities and their families who want to do self-directed supports and/or obtain and manage government funds as part of their program and I love my job! If I wasn’t doing this I would have loved to do interior decorating or been a pastry chef!

  • Yay!! My first ticker change post!

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 8 weeks, baby is the size of a raspberry or kidney bean  :)

    2. How are you feeling? Soooooo tired, bloated, some queasiness/gross feelings but not actually getting sick so far.

    3. Any appointments this week? Nope, my first u/s is the 27th. 11 more days!

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Rave-My DH is amazing. I started spotting last night, got upset immediately, and he let me cry and talked me though it and was still supportive this morning when the spotting was gone.

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I'm currently a mental health counselor in a prison which I really love, but in my dream world I would be a professional makeup artist, maybe even doing special effects for movies/tv.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 10! Umm a strawberry?

    2. How are you feeling? Meh. I throw up every morning. Feel queasy until 12 where I'm exhausted and take a nap. Wake up and feel horrible until I put the kids to bed and then can't fall asleep.

    3. Any appointments this week? Yes! I have an ultrasound on Wednesday :)

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Just over first tri.

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?) I'm s sahm to 2 kids right now. I was previous a tax analyst (which although was fun for awhile got real boring real quick). I think I'd like to be a nurse in the ER. Have new exciting things happen on the regular. I do well under high pressure situations and medical stuff fascinates me. Heck I'd probably love to be an ER DR.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant- I'm so tired of being home all the time I try and get out with my son but he cries everywhere we go and we last about 30 minutes and we have to go home. I quit my job and have been at home for 2 months and I'm burnt out with being home I want a job :(

GTKY: If you werent in your current proffesion, what would you be doing?
I havent gotten my career started I just turned 21 and still trying to find my way. Ive had multiple retail jobs and tried to be a CNA 2 months ago before I started nursing school and I decided I hate vomit and have a phobia so my nursing plan is done. I wanted to go to school but now I have to wait for the baby to be born and settled in. We struggle with money and our son has needs we didnt expect so he is costing us a ton.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
8 weeks!  I think raspberry?? Based off what someone else said
    2. How are you feeling?
So dang tired!!!  Constant queasy/car sick feeling
    3. Any appointments this week?
Nope!  First appointment is a week from Wednesday
    4. Rants/raves/questions?
I’m going to be a big baby...this week has sucked ass.  My students were confirmed tonight so I’ve been on my feet constantly for the last 3 days.  I’m so ready to just relax this weekend!  The rave is that my husband has been amazing picking up the slack!

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I am a teacher, and I love my job!  I’ve always said if I won the lottery, I would still teach.  Or at least do something with education.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
8 weeks with two! Peanut m&m

    2. How are you feeling?
Nausea greatly dissipated this week, which freaks me out, but I still get waves. I'm just exhausted now. I told hubby I feel like I'm growing two placentas.

    3. Any appointments this week?
Big week: graduation from my RE and first OB appt. I'm switching from my beloved midwives bc they don't take twins.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
I'm so glad I submitted my tenure package before this pregnancy, because the pressure is really off. I'm incredibly unfocused at work these days.

    5. GTKY:
I thought about med school for a while, and I still think that might have been a good path for me. I'm a social science researcher/professor. I do love my job...most of the time. If I could have my dream job I would be an international vegetarian food critic, but I don't think that's a thing.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 10 weeks and a strawberry!

    2. How are you feeling? I feel nauseous most days, but also want to eat everything. Also tired and getting grumpy.

    3. Any appointments this week? Next appt is march 26th for bloodwork

    4. Rants/raves/questions? when will you guys do the glucose test? I always thought you had to be fasting but at my 1st appt. The lab lady said no.

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I am a nurse. If I was doing what I currently do in nursing, I would choose just a different type of nursing to go into like flight nursing etc.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
According to LMP, 8 weeks today! Baby is the size of a raspberry.

    2. How are you feeling?
Nervous, tired, nauseous on and off, want to eat all of the carbs and none of the vegetables.

    3. Any appointments this week?
Yes! Finally, my first ultrasound is Thursday. I’m really nervous and hopeful that we will hear that heartbeat and everything will be okay.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Rant, my acne has gotten so much worse since I found out I was pregnant! Skincare tips, anyone? Rave, DH is bringing me a bagel sandwich and he is great. Question, for the last couple of weeks I’ve had almost constant lower back pain. Anyone experience this and any tips for relief?

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I would work in a library because I’m a huge book nerd. Currently, working In health care marketing.

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    9 weeks, a cherry

    2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good. The nausea is still around, but if I snack on something it keeps it at bay. I’ve been doing some yoga to help with sciatic pain.

    3. Any appointments this week?
    Nope

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
    @momtobx2
they told me the same thing and I don’t think that’s how it was when I was pregnant last time. Definitely threw me off. Now I just have to find the time to get it done.

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I work at a credit union and am a wedding photographer. If I wasn’t doing either of those I would love to be a SAHM or doing something with forensics.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 10 weeks, size of a strawberry!

    2. How are you feeling? Better! The nausea has calmed down this week!

    3. Any appointments this week? Doppler and/or ultrasound apt on Friday

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Rave: my husband has been so amazing. He’s been supportive, helpful around the house, sensitive to my MS/heartburn, aaaand we went for donuts this morning haha

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I am a Planning Operations Rep. I plan employee morale events for 6000 employees at 20 sites for my company. I plan BBQs, pie and cider socials, cookie and cocoa networking events, etc. It’s stressful around event time but a good kind of stress! If I wasn’t doing this, I’d probably move into communications.

@missmaehurt I am definitely not taking it after I have been eating all day! Hah
  • @momtobx2 most times its not until around 24 weeks. My Dr does it earlier for mom's over 30. He's having me do it next week at 10.5 because I've been sick. He would have done it when I was there last week but I had eaten.

At my first appointment, the LPN told me they would do it at 20weeks, but I am going to confirm that at my next appointment.  She also said that I could eat, but should avoid anything with carbs.

In most  of the stories I’ve seen from ladies with inconsistent results on the test, they also mentioned that they had eaten something carb-ish before the test.

@firsttimespartanmom My face has been breaking out terribly as well and I’ve never really had acne. I’ve been using Cetaphil face wash because it doesn’t have any of the acne medicines in it that you should
avoid. It seems to help but doesn’t clear it completely. I’ve also been experiencing low back pain because I have a tilted uterus. My doctor said it should get better once it starts to straighten out (it has been better the last week or so...8w2d today). I find that just resting sitting up in bed or on the couch with my feet up really helps. I’ve also heard prenatal yoga helps but I haven’t tried that yet.

I don’t remember when I did my glucose test last time. But I know I didn’t fast, in fact I was mad because I ate cookies that day lol.

    ETA: I passed it btw
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    8 weeks!

    2. How are you feeling?
Much better this past week. Not nearly as sick as I was before. Unfortunately sciatic pain is starting. It got so bad that could barely walk during my last pregnancy. Let's hope it doesn't get that far.

    3. Any appointments this week?
    First ultrasound on Tuesday!

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
My family is moving back to Michigan at the end of this month so I've been waiting for this ultrasound to make sure all is well and I can tell them while they are still here!

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I'm all over the place! I'm currently a SAHM, but my major was in Graphic Design. I decided I hated it a couple months before graduation so I never actually worked in that field. Before becoming a SAHM I worked at an Endodontist (root canal specialist) office. But my little brother is a Mechanical Engineer and I think his work is fascinating. I love math and science, so I'd probably become an engineer.

Ah crap. I didn't know there were things in face wash to avoid too! There's so much to learn about being pregnant! I need a dictionary or something.
  • I was told I have to fast for mine....hm
  • Thank you, I wlll try Cetaphil!
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 8w, the size of a pygmy seahorse

    2. How are you feeling? In general, ok. I get a vague queasiness most of the day. My back hurts as well but I don't have a good reason like @spartan4life. The bloat has begun, so that's fun too. Very tired.

    3. Any appointments this week? Yes! U/s Monday.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? No. I know every pregnancy  and every baby is different, but it's hard to remember that. This one is rather different from my first, so it keeps throwing me off.

    5. GTKY: If you weren't in your current profession, what would you be doing? (Also, what do you do for work now?)
I work for a county government. I love my job and have no idea what I'd be doing otherwise.
  • Just lurking here from Friday, but @sarahzett now i want doughnuts. We have our first ob appt today so i guess i will just have to leave a little early and stop on the way. ;)
  • @norahkate yessss! Sometimes, you just gotta have the donuts!!
