I know it’s said a lot, but I recommend trying a ring sling if you can. I was gifted a really beautiful one, and I broke down into tears of frustration whenever I tried it. I sent it to one of the moms on my BMB for DD. I think it works great for most people and just wasn’t meant to be for us.
Agreed that there can be frustrations with the sling at first...especially if it is still crunchy and not broken in yet...if you're able to get the hang of it it is amazing but like every thing, doesn't work for everyone
For those interested in ring slings but balking at the price of Wildbirds, etc., I bought one from Bibbets on Etsy. Sleeping Baby Productions is also a highly recommend, lower cost, ring sling.
