Everyone is always talking about feeling movement, and I barely feel anything. I had an anterior placenta with my first, but I don’t this time as far as I know. However, I do have a retrovertes uterus. Could that be why? Anyone else have one and not experience much movement? I’m 18 weeks.
I have felt movement but not a ton yet. Mine has been weird too - it's not so much the flutters but the full body press and stretch like I used to feel when DS started to outgrow the womb. It is freaking me out, like this baby has super strength or something. But again, it hasn't happened often at all. I am only 17 weeks.

I feel the big rolls but not so much the kick or flutters very often. I'm 16 weeks and started feeling some movement pretty early on but nothing consistent yet.
I’m only 16 weeks and haven’t felt consistent movement, just a couple kicks when I sneeze or cough.
My question, has anyone experienced fluid retention in your arms/hands already? I have felt like my hands and arms swell up every night but with my last pregnancy this happened closer to the end and it made me a bit concerned. I also got carpal tunnel in both wrists at the end of my last pregnancy and I am really scared that’s coming back already!
@lalala2004 also have a retroverted uterus! I’m hitting 16 weeks this week and still haven’t felt movement. Some quickening/flutters, but very faint! My OB said it very well could be the reason I felt them late. She even had a hard time finding the job with the Doppler around 11 weeks because of it. With DS I didn’t feel true kicks until right at 20 weeks. DH couldn’t feel them from the outside until 23-24. I know it’s frustrating, because I’m right there with ya!
I'm 19+1 with my first, and haven't felt anything yet. I'm not worried about it, though since I'm guessing I'll just find it slightly annoying once it starts, like when you can't wait for your kid to start walking, but then wish they'd just sit still.

@lalala2004 I also have a retroverted uterus and haven’t felt anything at 16+ weeks. I hardly feel pregnant except for my “thick” stomach and light-headed/tiredness.
@lolog531 yeah, I had all of that happen me with DS1, but I had an anterior placenta, so I attributed it to that. Now I’m wondering if it was my retroverted uterus all along. I’m just glad I’m not the only one. It usually doesn’t bother me, but after everyone talking about frequent movement for weeks, sometimes I’m afraid there’s something wrong, even though I have no reason to think that.
@lalala2004 I haven't felt a ton, but I had the anterior placenta last time too so my expectations are low. They've always told me I have a "tilted uterus" is that the same thing?
@melissaf22 Stupid feet are swelling already. Stupid feet never went back to their pre-pregnancy size last time. Stupid feet aren't going to have anything to wear in 6 more months.
@derbysquirrel maybe some feel that way but I never got tired of feeling DS and I love feeling this one too. Hands down my favorite part about being pregnant is the movement.
i felt DS for the first time at 20 weeks and he was a super strong infant according to doctors and he was big. I’ve been feeling this one for a while and I feel him quite frequently now, so I’m irrationally worried that he’s going be huge!
I feel hungry a lot. I eat mostly vegetarian and I should probably start monitoring protein because I’m worried I’m not getting enough.

I am 20 weeks with my third and only feeling movement daily quite recently. I was super worried about it around 17-18 weeks because I had thought I felt movement at like 13 weeks, then 15 weeks, but then there would be weeks of nothing. It's the worst when you feel like you aren't experiencing something others are/should be. There is a wide range of what's normal though.
@lalala2004 I felt some good kicks the other day but nothing really notable since or before and you and I are just days apart. Don’t worry!! It’s totally normal!!
So, this just started for me this week, my gums are so sore and irritated suddenly that I am unable to adequately brush my teeth. My mouth feels like I've been vigorously rubbing dry Cap'n Cunch all over the outside of my gums.
Other than switching to a soft bristled brush, any other helpful tips to combat this?
I had an anterior placenta with my first and it took a while to feel movements.
17 weeks now and I think I have an anterior placenta again. So I haven’t really felt anything I think. It’s hard to not worry since my second kid had a posterior placenta and I could feel him early.
@neeraja_k it's recommended that you get an extra dental check up during pregnancy because gingivitis can be worse. Or maybe you developed a random reaction to a toothpaste. My suggestion, not a dentist, new toothbrush, switch toothpastes, avoid mouthwash. ?? Dunno
@mapleandbacon Thanks for replying. I have noticed around the same time that the gum irritation became noticable that my teeth feel scuzzy more than normal and nothing else has really changed in my diet or dental care habits, so maybe it's all related. I have a dental appointment next week to fix an old filling, so I'll ask him about it then. I'm not due for a cleaning until May I don't think.
Ugh I lost all of my tooth enamel after DS. I had the best teeth prior to him. Now I count it a success if I make it through a cleaning without a cavity. Mind you DH barely flosses and probably only brushes his teeth once a day and has never had a cavity.
Do any of you ladies or have you used a belly band? When I walk around for too long (30 minutes or so which isn’t really that long) my stomach gets really tight at the lower abdomen. It makes it difficult to continue to walk around with out being in pain. I didn’t have this with my DD so I am unsure what it is. My next OB appt is in two weeks and I will ask then. I am wondering if some sort of belly band would help with being on my feet. I also have a trip to New Orleans for the week of Forth of July and I don’t want to be a party pooper because I can’t walk for long period of times.

I just got one that a friend sent me. My lower stomach was killing me after coughing during this nasty cold last week, so my doctor recommended a belly band. I tried it on for a few minutes and it really does seem like it will help when my belly is a bit bigger. I’ve been noticing as well when I walk around for a while it gets sore so I’ll be wearing it soon.

I’ve already called my OB and I’m waiting on a call back but does anyone know if food poisoning while pregnant is a reason for an ER trip? I’ve been up all night with TMI violent diarrhea and if nothing else i have to be dehydrated at this point. I’m kinda freaking out.
@calimom are you able to drink liquids? I think as long as your drinking, it’s okay but if not, maybe go for fluids? I’m sorry. That sucks. Hope you feel better soon.,

I’m drinking them but they aren’t staying down, it was diarrhea for about 7 hours now I’m also throwing up.
@calimom2524 I would call your OB after hours line and ask them at what point you should go in for IV fluids. Or maybe they could give you some Zofran. Sounds like it might be a stomach virus as opposed to food poisoning, because that tends to last longer.
I just saw your post @calimom2524! How are you doing? Hopefully the sickness has stopped and you’re able to keep fluids down now

Has anyone been to see a genetic counselor? I have an appt next week because of the MTHFR and PAI-1 mutations, but I don’t know what questions I should have prepared to ask. I just want to make sure I make the most of my time and have an idea what to expect.
