I laugh to myself when certain people tell me they’re tired. Not with a mean spirit or pain olympics mentality. Just that I am always exhausted. I know there are many people with a lot less rest and resources than I and boatloads of people who would trade their limbs for this sleep deprivation. I would not change it for the world. Still, I have a 6 month old that wakes often 4/5 times per night, a 20 month old who rarely sleeps through the night and a job without the normal 9-5 weekday boundaries. I’m still extremely blessed with everything in my life, especially my little munchkins and amazing DH who takes point at night. But when certain people complain about being tired my mind flashes:
@BostonBaby1 amen. Not that being tired is a competition, but when my two male kid-less, pet-less, wife-less co-workers tell me they're tired, or even that they have somewhere to be, I can't help but think "b*tch please."
@BostonBaby1 yup! Most of the time I accept that we can't compare our lives and challenges with others cause my good day could be someone's worst nightmare and vice versa. But I absolutely have had those moments where I can actually feel my head cock to the side and my face scrunch up when certain people complain about being tired to me.
@BostonBaby1 I only have one 20 month old who typically sleeps through the night but will sometimes wake up randomly, and those random times are often for 2 hours, but I get it! I hated hearing from STMs "just wait until...." but when I hear people complaining about being tired I often think to myself that they have no clue and I'm not a great person to say that to.
@BostonBaby1@stothi and @nlc8424 Yes! I work some nights, my 21 month old wakes, my husband gets up early, and I'm naturally a bad sleeper. I get irritated when people tell me they're tired frequently. Poor husband "only" got 6 hours last night after choosing to stay up later than me knowing he has morning duty today. And he woke up twice for like 10 seconds each in there. Wow. I have been living on 6 hours or less most days, with being up 3 times in there, and one wake is minimum 30 min.
Or people with older kids that sleep, and they tell me they got to catch up and sleep 14 hours on sunday. I want to punch them. On my catch up days I get 8.5 or 9 and husband gives me crap.

@pourmeamocktail my husband never comes to bed before midnight and sleeps like the dead, so no amount of baby/toddler crying wakes him up. I have a lot of trouble falling and staying asleep. When DS was an infant, he was a terrible sleeper and would wake up every 1.5 hours to nurse. I regularly got 3 hours of sleep a night or less. DH always used to wake up in the mornings and complain about how tired he was. I finally told him if he complained to me one more time I would put him to sleep permanently. He hasn’t complained about being tired in the 2 years since then
@Wishilivedinflorida I get this. We have said two and through but DH confessed to me that if we have another girl, we would be open to a third. So we shall see. I am perfectly fine with two girls, but I find that many men I spoken to, they feel the need to have a son. My sister tried for "just one more" and has three girls.
Our neighbors had 2 boys and “tried for a girl” and ended up with twin boys. So if we end up with 3 girls, we are definitely still stopping! (I’d prefer to stop at 2, but told DH I would consider #3 after we see how we do with 2.)
I'm eating directly out of a tuna pouch, because in compromising with my midwife. She wants me to get protein in each meal...and I really want Mac and cheese for lunch.
My kiddo and I like adding tuna to our Mac n cheese. We think it's yummy! Sometimes we get crazy and add some peas too.
I'm late to this but we ate mac & cheese with tuna and peas often growing up. My parents mixed in a can of cream of mushroom soup too to make it creamy. It was tune casserole and I've always loved it! And now I want some.

I haven’t taken my prenatal in two days. I know how important it is for Bean’s growth but I could not stomach taking it at any time of day. Hopefully I can stomach it tonight.
If I don't remember to take it within a half hour of a meal it doesn't get taken that day. I try to be good, but there's definitely been times I've missed a couple days in a row.

FFMC? DH is going to dc this week to share cf life on capitol hill. We went shopping Sunday to find decent enough clothes... then he tried things on and I remembered: I have no sense of fashion and no idea the rules on guy-wear... we wound up googling and now he has to go back to the store for different options... sorry dh!

We're in the same 2 vs 3 conversation ,t our house. DH always wanted 3 kids, I wanted 2, but I told him if we have two boys I'd be open to having one nose. If I end up a boy mom and that's it, well that's OK with me. I think it would be harder to convince me to have a third and go through all the discomfort and such if we already have one of each.

@pourmeamocktail we are the reverse of you. I'm pretty sure I want three, I think if we have a boy this time DH might want to be done (for room sharing logistics reasons). I feel like I want more than two because I only have a sister and I just feel like our family is so small.
@pourmeamocktail Same here! I always wanted 2 and so did my DH, but now I think I want 3! He is open to it and we decided to revisit the conversation after we have #2. We would hopefully have a smaller age gap between #2 and #3.

I have three and will happily vouch for number 3. SOOO FUNNN!!! One you have no clue what you're doing, two you worry about 1 & 2 getting along, time for, etc. Three is JUST FUN!!! Here I am hoping number 4 is just a fun or funner!!!

@EErin86 Didn't see your response until I posted mine - I totally agree! I only have one brother and would have loved to have had more siblings. A family member said to me this weekend, "Well it would be great if this one is a boy because then you would have one of each and could be done." It really bothered me because my DH and I would both LOVE to have another DD, or a DS and don't have a preference either way, nor will the sex of this baby affect our decision to have a third or not. If #2 is a girl and we decided to try for a third, I would hate it if people thought we were doing so only to "try for a boy".
@arcticseal-2 I’ve heard that from many moms I know who have 3+ kids, that going from 1 to 2 is the hardest and the rest is a breeze. If money wasn’t an object I would totally have 3 or 4 and stay home.
I'm afraid to be outnumbered. Our car situation makes 2 uncomfortable, 3 scary, and 4 impossible. But, we're already checking out options, lol. I just don't want to count on anything before #2 arrives.

@pourmeamocktail Our vehicle situation is a little "fun" in that we drive a 5 seater truck. We are looking at options, the most affordable being hopefully being able to switch out the middle console in the front for a seat!
