  • We are building a house and they are 4 months behind (typical). I told my contractor today I'm pregnant and he MUST not delay any further as I don't want to move when I'm past 7 months. So he has until June 1st to get us in that house!  :#

  • I know I'll get flamed for this big time but... I'm having a rally hard time quitting smoking for this pregnancy. I started when my ppd/a was really severe from my last pregnancy and it's definitely more of an emotional dependence even than the physical addiction. I've cut waaaaay back and I'm still worrying on it but fffffff it's hard. I feel so guilty and awful and at my ob appt my midwife didn't even care, it was weird. Like... I would've welcomed more guilting and encouraging to stop.

    I dunno. Flame away.
  • @chyvie - I totally understand.  I’m trying to remodel my only bathroom, and I want it done before baby!  I have a contractor selected, but it is taking forever to get the next steps done.  I know from his references that once he gets started, he gets it done, but getting him started takes a bit!

    I have 2:

First, it took me a solid 5 minutes for me to make sure today was Friday. I am still not 100%

Second, I am waiting to see if we have some catfish/trolls on here...
I second your second!  This is a pretty tame board.

  • @theglitteredpterodactyl - my nurse was the same about me going to Cancun when I was 7wks. “Don’t do it, if you do, wear bug spray, moving on.”  She was way more concerned about me cleaning my own litter box.
  • @theglitteredpterodactyl - I think the fact that you care and you're trying to cut back is good. Yeah, it's not the best for baby, but you're not the first and wont be the last to smoke while pregnant. Continue to be conscious of it and try and stop.

I'm working from home today and I've already taken one nap and ready for a 2nd... I've got a headache and just feel like crap.. I feel bad that my work is slacking.

Not going to flame you. I’m sure it’s hard to quit. Just try the absolute best you can - that’s all you can do.
  • @bel194 I found out my inlaws were moving to my neighborhood and decided to leave the state. B)

Okay, so it was a bit more complicated than that, and I’m sure my ex is happy to have his mother living around the corner from him...
  • @bel194 that's would be me!!! At this point we don't even bother making plans unless it's for birthdays or holidays. Speaking of which.

I have to go to MHs neice's birthday on Saturday. I still need an excuse to not stay long. I'm debating whether to even get her a present. She's 1.
  • @purplegoldfish2 my toddler decided she hates bath time and I'm like meh that's fine. Some days my partner can talk get into it but for the most part... She doesn't smell. It's fine right?
  • @theglitteredpterodactyl Totally fine! Although mine did start to smell.  Not sure if it’s my extra sensitive nose or if anybody else could smell them too, but I’m pretending it was just me!

  • @kiwi2628 and @zwink1 I’m with you guys. I expected there to be some more trolling going on. Or maybe I’m just used to the level of snark on TTGP!

Please tell me me if I ask something stupid. I want to know!
  • @purplegoldfish2 we often go a week between baths for DS :hushed:  If he gets particularly dirty or smells we make sure to bathe him then, but otherwise he doesn’t smell or seem dirty. Do people actually have time and energy to bathe a 2 year old daily??
  • Lol, @kiwi2628, me too!!

My husband's ex wife lives next door to her mom. Like, they carved out 5 acres of their 60 acre farm for a house. I love my mom but I could NEVER do that. And she's such a witch. Let's just say he's glad he's done with them!
  • @muchwanted thanks! I keep telling myself next time we're at the store to get  lollipops or something and sit outside and eat it when i want to smoke or something because honestly it's mostly just the five minute breaks from my toddler that i crave... I welcome all suggestions for quiting! Like i definitely don't want to keep smoking. Its just really f'ing hard

I bathe my two year old daily! I feel like her little finger nails don't come clean unless she has a daily bath.
  • Oh one more. I fucking hate that the NRA & co has ruined “thoughts and prayers”. I feel like I have to contort my words and come up with a creative way to support people when they go through losses or hard times now when really what I mean is, you’re in my thoughts and prayers.

  • @KFrob how do you do it??? By the time I get home from work, there’s barely an hour and a half before his bedtime, and by the time we’re done with dinner, that’s practically it.  We always say we’re going to bathe him more, but then we run out of time and energy and it’s bedtime already. :disappointed:
  • I don't even know how often my 6yo gets bathed. We do at least once on our weekends with him. However on our week nights we have from 5-7pm with him when you take out travel time. And the kid eats like a turtle.
  • I'm fully willing to admit I bathe my 4 year old once a week, maybe. Obviously when it gets warmer and she's outside in the dirt and mud all day working up a sweat this will change. But right now I don't see the need. She's clean, she doesn't smell, she gets her clothes and underwear changed every day so *shrug*
