I said I might not start a future thread like this last week, but then I was hoping I'd have a newborn to take care of by now.
Since there are so few of us left on this board still pregnant I wanted to make a thread just for Feb 18 moms of any due date that are still pregnant and want a weekly update thread.
What is your due date?
How are you feeling?
Any signs of labor?Any questions, worries, rants, or raves?
GTKY: Do you have a date set where you have to be induced? And what are you doing to distract yourself right now from being too impatient?
Re: EDD: any // Still pregnant any # of weeks // Wk of until babies are all here
Today, February 25
How are you feeling?
Um...just 40 weeks pregnant. Nothing worse than it has been. Some heartburn, braxton hicks, hip pain, sore in the nether regions, etc.
Any signs of labor?
I did lose my mucus plug Monday, so almost a week ago. And was checked Monday to be 2.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Not literally signs of labor, but signs of getting closer.
Any questions, worries, rants, or raves?
Ramble: IDK, just trying everything to get baby here sooner. This week I've made and taken the midwife brew 3 times: nothing! And it's supposed to be super effective if you're late in pregnancy and ready. Also been drinking raspberry leaf tea, eating dates, tried acupressure, been using my pump to stimulate my nipples, had sex, been using the yoga ball, going on walks, etc. Doula says just try to relax and expect him late. Then you can be happy if he's early. She is fine with me doing stuff to try to bring labor as long as it doesn't frustrate me. I am not stressed out about it, I just wish he would've planned to be earlier.
GTKY: Do you have a date set where you have to be induced? And what are you doing to distract yourself right now from being too impatient?
I don't have a date. OB is fine if I go to 41 weeks, so that's March 4th. She said she just doesn't want me to go past 42 weeks so they'd probably set a date between March 5-11 if he doesn't come sooner. Trying not to be impatient isn't working so well
Feb 20th, so 5 days overdue.
How are you feeling?
At my wits end. Let me start by saying I really thought I was going to go early. Big mistake! Wish I never had that in my head, haha. So I've been going nuts for weeks. I think I tore an abdominal muscle so that's super painful, not to mention all the normal end of 3rd trimester stuff like round ligament pain, groin pain, aching all over from the weight of this child, heartburn, hormonal mood swings!
Any signs of labor?
So many, which makes it all more frustrating! Cramping, radiating lower back pain, braxton hicks.
Any questions, worries, rants, or raves?
I'm to be induced Tuesday night if she doesn't arrive on her own. I really didn't want to be induced since I'm trying to deliver natural, and being induced will most likely make the labor more intense and painful. Not to mention it can take a long time so that's more time in the hospital. More money, more time away from my senior doggie, more time away from my home business, and if it takes a few days for the induction to work, my dad will be away by then for 10 days on business so won't get to meet his granddaughter right away. I know none of this is the end of the world and in the end I'm going to be so happy and fortunate to have baby girl in my arms, but it's just a lot to handle right now.
And ditto @kristinl492, I hope we both don't have to be induced either!

i was due 2/26 (yesterday)
my only prayer is that baby come on his/her own soon. I was induced at 42 weeks with my daughter and it was a terrible experience. Super long labor and over 3 hours of on and off pushing
I have my non stress test today and a weekly check as well. May ask the to strip my membranes today.
Just treking along!!
i just had an OB appointment so i wanted to update. She scheduled me for induction Sunday night which is 41 weeks. I asked if i could have between weeks 41& 42 to give him a chance to start on his own. She agreed but if he doesn’t start labor then i will be induced the following Sunday night, the 11th, at 42 weeks. That’s fine with me because there are risks if you go too long too. But i also have to get a Non stress test next week Monday and Thursday if he hasn’t made an appearance. So we compromised. I really hope he comes though! Every day i hope it’s the day. I am still at 50% effaced, but his head is stationed at -2, and I’m about 3.5-4 cm dilated.
Any of you having updates on progress or appointments?
I was scheduled for an induction at 42 weeks on the 12th. That sounds so far away! I’m really hoping my body kicks into gear before then because an induction freaks me out. I’m also not a fan of being so far past my due date with the potential complications. I’ll have an NST at my 41 appt next Thursday.
Definitely getting texts, phone calls, and even fb messages asking about the baby. Luckily my MIL only texts my husband and my mom has been pretty patient (she also went overdue with her first).
Beginning to think due dates are a sick joke. They should give you a window or something. This exact date nonsense just doesn't make sense. Okay - there's my rant:)
On another note, sorry if I didn't follow protocol. I never did introductions or anything like that. I've always been a lurker. But, these last few weeks I have found the community (esp the birth stories and announcements) really helpful. I'll be sure to share mine when the time finally comes. In the meantime, this is Erin in San Jose, expecting baby Audrey any day now.
I am 41 weeks today. Tomorrow I have a non-stress test. I wish he'd just come today. I wish that every day. I keep telling him, if he just comes on his own now it's going to be easier and healthier for both of us (as opposed to not starting labor and getting induced at 42 weeks). I've been still trying to take walks and also sometimes lie in bed with a candle and lavender oil in the dark and listen to these guided relaxations on YouTube for labor or pregnancy. Just to get really relaxed and try to call up oxytocin. I've tried soooooo many "natural induction" methods and nothing has worked even after trying multiple times so I'm now believing nothing is actually going to start labor but labor and for anyone who had any of those things work, they were about to start labor spontaneously anyway. At least I've tried everything.
@love-mom-life How did the non-stress test go? Do they ever actually find "stress" with those? I've never had one but I'm supposed to have one tomorrow. I'll be 41 + 1. I wish you have a less stressful labor this time and don't need induction!
@erinwedu I don't think anyone who's left cares if you followed protocol. Most have migrated to facebook anyway. I think due dates are relative. It is annoying though that people set so much expectations on them (including I guess myself before I guess). I subscribe to a bunch of pregnancy related emails and this week most of them are telling me about my baby at 1 week old. It's not one week old, it's 41 weeks pregnant!
@kristinl492 How did the storm go? Anything happening? Also, I just want to say, you are right people start labor at 0 cm and also hang around without going into labor for weeks/days while dilated 5 cm. So try not to be too hard on your cervix!
@Knottie95329557 Are you still pregnant too or any news?
It's just about studies about how much the due date actually matters or doesn't matter. It makes me feel better anyway seeing statistics of many moms going past 40 or even 41 weeks and makes me feel more normal. Especially when everyone keeps asking!
Lately I’ve been googling “labor stories” just to read about how everyone’s different labor starts and when it started. It’s comforting to read about all the people who go post-dates. Reminds me that yes, this baby will eventually get out!
Funnily enough, I do NOT want baby to come today. It’s a close family members birthday and I want him to have his own day.
41&1 or 2
sex
chiropractor
walking
resting
bouncing on a yoga ball
squats
pineapple
dates
castor oil
baths
wine
etc! Baby must be cozy in there
its funny, in my birth plan it even says that i need to control the rate at which pitocin is increased in the case of induction, but while she was super sweet, the nurse put it up faster than was manageable and even when we backed it off, the contractions still never spaced out. So if anyone is facing the same situation (induction but trying natural labor), my advice is go slow slow slow with increasing the dose and speak up and wait enough in between increments to see the difference. If it goes too hard you may not be able to back off.
