Re: Symptoms | Week of 2/28

  • Cramps. Definitely different than AF. A lot harder to describe. It's more of a focused feeling. Not as widespread as AF cramps. More compact. Kind of sharp at times, but more dull.

Headaches!! Has anyone else had MAJOR bad full head headaches? The last 3 days I have had them bad. Usually my headaches focus on one part of my head. But these are front, back, sides. Everywhere. And it lasts for hours, and a nap doesn't help.

Bloating. My already tight jeans are tighter, and I SWEAR I will bust out my old maternity jeans soon already (don't judge me. Haha!). Mainly because I already have a bit of a belly, so it wouldn't be that weird in my opinion.

Fatigue. I have had fatigue issues due to other possible medical issues, but I think this is adding to it.

  • @Whitmore1027 Yes to the bloat! All the bloat. My work pants already feel so tight, so I have to carefully plan my outfits to make sure the shirts aren't too tight.  :/ I had bad headaches in my previous pregnancies, but not during this one yet.

I've been so incredibly thirsty and I can't stop drinking water. But that makes me pee all. day. long. and I'm getting tired of it. Although at the same time I don't mind it so much because it's reassuring having some symptoms. I'm pretty sure our water bill is going to go up because of how many times I'm flushing the toilet!  :D
I think my sense of smell is getting a little stronger. Raw chicken smells horrible to me right now, but thankfully it doesn't smell bad after it's cooked, so I can still eat it.

  • @offtoneverland I wish I had the thirst issue! I still hate water, and I know I need to be drinking more! But yuck, I just hate water. Haha. Seriously though, even though I haven't upped my fluids, I have started getting up in the middle of the night to pee again! I guess that's a symptom I didn't think about. And I am not looking forward to the food aversions!! Glad that hasn't kicked in yet!

  • I haven’t had any *real* symptoms yet. I’m thirsty all the time, too, so I’ve been killing it with the water, but I always drink a ton of water. I’m feeling the bloat, too, but I’m not sure if it’s from the pregnancy or the extra calories I’ve been letting slide by because “baby needs them” lol

  • @CopperBoom86 Oh man I was sooo bad with my first about the "eating for two" thing. I told myself I would do better this round. I will have to remind myself that my version of eating for two isn't the right way...literally only need about 200 extra calories a day...not second helpings of everything... :D

  • See, I was just the opposite. I was really good with my first pregnancy. This one so far, not so much  :# Hopefully I’ll get it in check when reality sets in. I think some of my over eating is stemming from anxiety from this surprise little bean haha.

The insomnia is terrible, and certainly doesn’t help with the fatigue, but my stomach is behaving, so I’ll take it. It definitely helped to switch my horse pill PNV to a gummy.
Oh yeah, and sooo thirsty. I must have chugged about 150oz of water today.

  • Count me in on insane thirst! Also bloating like crazy! I am fighting fatigue on a daily basis and most of the time it's a losing battle. I feel bad because my DH keeps checking on me and asking if I'm alright, and I keep telling him I am, just really tired. My sense of smell is heightened but luckily no aversions yet. Little bouts of MS but usually lasting no more than 20ish minutes and haven't gotten sick so far.

  • Crazy thirsty which I was not the first time. BLOAT like a mother.....haha. Butttttt I am about 45 pounds heavier than I was when I got pregnant last time which has me super worried I am going to be a cow this time. I've tried to be super mindful of what I eat this time.....:(

Headaches are legit and did not happen last time. But I am chalking it up to the lessened caffeine I am torturing myself through.

My nose is super sensitive. I can smell food in terms of the individual ingredients...which is nasty.

  • Incredibly thirsty. Peeing constantly but probably from drink all the time. Headaches ever since ovulation.  I don't normally get headaches. Craving blueberries and blueberry anything as long as it's not tart.  I've never craved blueberries. Hunger in the morning which I never get unless pregnant.  Hot flashes which I only get in the beginning of pregnancy.  This would be my 4th pregnancy.  Nipple pain like a let down feeling but sometimes that can happen  before af. I was having side boob pain a week after o but that is mostly gone. Had very light pink spotting 1 day after o and 4(?) days after o but now I'm really questioning weather i ovulated earlier since that happened with my last pregnancy.  Along with spotting i had weird clumps. Thought it was yeast but there was no yeast symptoms.  It went away a few days later. I had implantation bleeding with all my pregnancies. This was my first symptom along with slight twinges and cramps that made me ask "could I be pregnant? ".

I have been sooooooo hungry. Like insanely hungry.
    cramps
    headaches
    fatigue
also nausea started but I ALWAYS get super sick through out my entire pregnancy. ughhhh
ive also been crazy. My husband loves this one, it was also what told me to take a test because I was so irritable. I really want that part to go away ASAP!

  • @oaklandava I'm about 50 pounds heavier this go 'round. I'm a size 16 now, so I know it's going to take a LONG time for me to look pregnant instead of just fatter. Blahhhhh. :(

  • I've got allllll the bloat, the nausea and the fatigue. I got a bfp 7 days before af was due and nausea started hitting me around then too which is insane. With DD symptoms didn't start until my bfp at 6 weeks so this is all new and definitely keeping me on my toes.
  • Being plus sized and pregnant is not the worst thing! I was heavier with my first and didn’t show until my 5th month or so, but people left me alone! No one touched my belly, and I swear it made birth easier because my hips were wider. (I’m pear shaped and have always joked that I have teenager-bearing hips lol).

  • Bloated
    Thirsty
    My. Boobs. Hurt.
  • @Whitmore1027 I don't think I've ever met anyone who hates water before! Same with the cramps that are not like AF. It's more like a pinching/pulling feeling? I think it's either things getting stretched out again or the CL continuing to pump out progesterone

Mostly it's just like my luteal phase/pms symptoms just stuck around - sore nipples, backache, cranky. My main issue is a backed up digestive system, ugh. I've been eating lots of fiber and drinking lots of water so maybe it's time for some benefiber.

With DD I had very few symptoms through the first trimester - except a missed period of course. I was very lucky. The past few days I've felt a little queasy (kinda like being carsick) after meals and some decreased appetite. Interesting to see if I get MS this time around.

  • @lifesabeach85 Haha! Okay, maybe hate was a strong word. Let's just say I am major addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper, and water is just gross in comparison. Haha. There are very few times when I do straight up crave a g;ass of water. But it has to be filtered and SUPER cold. I haate tap water.

For anyone starting with MS; during my previous pregnant I found that Preggie Pop Drops helped quite a bit! It would only work while sucking on one, so I would pop them literally like candy. They taste good and helped me out! I just bought some so I would be prepared when MS hits.

Here is the link in the spoiler for amazon (I like the 3 pack):

  • @whitmore1027 I definitely also recommend Preggie Pops. I couldn't get into some of the flavors they had, but the ones I was able to suck on did help. Also, Sour Patch Kids.

Symptoms so far: peeing a lot, was my first indication I needed to POAS. Boobs seem fuller, so I'm happy about that YAY. I'm getting those strained and pulled muscle feelings in my groin, my uterus is probably expanding some already. Slight nausea, but not anywhere near as bad as last time. My period wasn't supposed to start until the weekend, however, and I got the MS the day after my missed period/BFP with DS, so I'm bracing myself for Monday.

  • @Whitmore1027 I feel you so hard on that Diet Dr Pepper addiction! I drink a 12 oz bottle every morning. It’s my coffee. I love water, too, though. Those are really the only two things I drink apart from the occasional glass of sweet tea cuz South. My H doesn’t really like water either- he has to put lemon in it to drink it.

  • @PMForbie yeah there are some flavors I weren't that into. I have hears that sour patch works too but I never tried it!

@CopperBoom86 Yeah! I drink coffee in the morning then usually 4-5 cans a day. I've tried to drink water in between the sodas... although I should just not drink that many and replace with water. Haha. I hate drinking water with food. I have to have my soda with food. So I try to go to only having a soda with a meal, then water the rest of the day.

  • Can we talk about spotting? This post has a big TW for mentions of loss.
Today around noon I had some reddish/pink spotting. There were no clots. I promptly flipped out and started sobbing because my 3 losses have all started with red spotting. However, since then I have had no spotting at all and no cramps. My previous losses very quickly progressed to heavy clots, so I'm thinking right now that things might be okay.
Yesterday I started doing kegels a few times, and I continued that today. Is it possible the kegels just irritated my cervix, causing the spotting? Really need someone to talk me off a ledge here. I thought bleeding only happened at implantation, and not afterward. I never had any spotting with my daughter so I'm not sure what's normal.
    Thank you!  <3

  • @offtoneverland Spotting is the worst! I hate that it has you so stressed out! With my first pregnancy, I had spotting my entire TWW and for a while afterwards. Then, I had some more at 13 weeks. Turns out I had an SCH that was bleeding out over the course of that time, so it was actually a good thing. I think spotting at this point can be completely normal and have so many explanations. FX it stops soon!

  • @offtoneverland keeping so many fingers crossed for you, lady! Spotting can be such a mind game.
  • @offtoneverland, I have totally read from multiple sources that some spotting in early pregnancy can be normal, especially around the time of a missed period. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry. FXed for a super sticky rainbow baby!

@offtoneverland like several pp have mentioned, I think spotting in the first tri, and really anytime during pregnancy can be from any number of reasons (including an irritated cervix) and doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong. I can’t imagine anything scarier though. Hopefully the spotting is all done for you though.

  • This is my second pregnancy. Same as with my first I feel more tired (although I am also sick with a cough).

other weird thing so far, which happened during my first pregnancy, hamburgers hold no appeal to me. They sound kind of gross. Which is weird because when not pregnant I am. HUGH hamburger fan. During my last pregnancy I craved Subway, and I think that is happening again.

  • Super thirst here also! I drink a lot of water to begin with but this is a craving. I had a super vivid, bizarre dream last also but otherwise not any other symptoms yet.

  • @offtoneverland I’m so glad you asked your question. I also had bright red blood (it was heavier than spotting) last night. No cramping and a test was still positive this morning and no more spotting, but I’m super anxious. I’m waiting on a call back from my OB. Of course we are out of town so I can’t go in if she wants me too. I’m glad yours was so reassuring!

  • @offtoneverland @wannaflickone so glad ya'll spotting seems to be nothing!

@Whitmore1027 I HATE water too :( Without all my sodas I am so dead. My friend suggested an essential oil to help with it and it has so far! Still not like a soda though..

my nausea has started and stopped. My anxiety has been pretty high but I think it's from the life changes outside of the pregnancy more than the pregnancy. We are now under contract on our current house, closing 4/16, and under contract on our new house, closing 4/17. I still need a job :( I'm pretty glad that I have had the support system in a few friends of mine who got me into essential oils a little bit back, because they've definitely sent some my way that have helped since cutting anxiety meds is so hard (but necessary per my OB).

As far as food...I love dill pickles.  All the pickles.

  • Cramping is normal during the 4th week right? I'm so crampy right now, like I'm about to start my period. I remember the day before my BFP first time around, I had to take Pamprin for the cramps, and today would be the day before my period. I just want to go home and apply a hot pad (I know that's not recommended) and take a long nap.

  • @PMForbie A few days after my first BFP, I had some period-like cramping for about a day. It made me nervous (let's face it, everything makes me nervous), but it went away the next day. I read that around the time of your expected period, some cramping or spotting may happen. So I don't think you need to be concerned about that. Hope you feel better soon and can relax tonight!

  • @PMForbie before my BFP with DD I had such strong PMS cramps I was seriously confused about where AF was for like two days before I finally took another pg test (I had a false negative three days earlier). I haven't had too many cramps this time around but my back is giving me grief today. Called the nurse and she said as long as it's not severe or accompanied by bleeding, it's normal. Enjoy your nap!

@oaklandava I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go, and vary and intensity. Mine certainly are! I also love pickles.

  • @PMForbie With my first, I had lots of cramping for at least a couple weeks, from about week 4-6. I never had any spotting or bleeding. It was normal for me. But it didn't feel like period cramps. It was more pinchy (Like @lifesabeach85 said). And it felt very compact and tight in a small area of my abdomen at my uterus, unlike my AF cramps, which are more widespread around my whole abdomen and back.

  • @oaklandava I drank pickle juice during my last pregnancy. DH was so disgusted by it.

I haven’t had much more spotting and finally got labs done around 4 today. They won’t have results until Monday. It will be a long weekend.

I’ve got some of the localized cramping but it is really mild. Not painful but noticeable. It sounds really similar to what you are describing @Whitmore1027

@pmforbie hope your nap was amazing!
