    Rants/Raves
: My back is sore af!! I have back issues from an accident years ago so i decided to get an epidural shot in my back because right before this whole IVF business its started to bother me again. Well from where the injection sight is is where I’m sore... still from Saturday morning.

    Questions for the group: nope

GTKY: What was the worst date you ever had?
Worst date... I went out on date with a guy I met at a bar the weekend before seemed really nice. He took me to a really nice restaurant and proceeded to talk about his crazy ex wife, all the times he and she were arrested for domestic violence and how he feels his kids are paying the price. At the end of the date he walked me to my car and i said “Thank you for dinner but some words of advice ... don’t talk about how your exwife and how you’ve been arrested for domestic violence on a first date. It was nice meeting you but lose my number” Got in my car and sped off.

What are you thankful for this week?
I am so Thankful my FET is getting closer and closer

  • @ndz2018 That sounds like a horrible first date!!  That would have freaked me out.

Status (WTO/TWW/Benched/in process of testing or treatment): WTO

    CD, CD/DPO (if applicable):CD9

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): OPKs, temping/charting, ubiquinol, lots of vitamins, preseed.  Basically anything I can think of.

    Rants/Raves
    : I'm just getting impatient...nothing new.

    Questions for the group:
I guess I'm just wondering how seriously other peoples' doctors take the AMA issue.  I'm 40, and I feel like my OB isn't being proactive enough.  He finally prescribed my progesterone, but I feel like he's too casual.  It was my family doctor that sent me for day 3 testing and did the referral to the fertility clinic.

GTKY: What was the worst date you ever had?
A guy took me to a live music show...turns out it was his band playing, which he failed to mention beforehand.  So I sat at a table by myself for two hours.  It wasn't fun and that was the one and only date with him.

What are you thankful for this week?
My husband.  He is very patient, and I know I've been emotional and not always easy to be around with the whole TTC and repeat losses problem.
  • @bakerstreetboys I feel like most OB's are casual with TTC stuff because infertility isn't their "speciality" per say. If I were you, I'd be going to a fertility specialist for a consult so could have tests run so you know where you stand and know what your egg reserve looks like. They can still do easier / less costly things than IVF, but they are trained and usually look more into fertility issues.,

Status (WTO/TWW/Benched/in process of testing or treatment): Waiting on AF the beginning of March so can start my FET process.

    CD, CD/DPO (if applicable):CD 22

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): Ubiqunol, folate, l-arginine, kelp, Vit D, PNV, probiotic

    Rants/Raves
: Had such a fun weekend with girlfriends that I met thru an infertility group here in Dallas. It was nice hanging out with with girls that "get it". :)

What are you thankful for this week? Thankful for having this cycle off to get my mind and body back to normal without meds. I'm antsy and ready for transfer, but feeling good and getting things done at home before all the craziness starts back!

    Rants/Raves
: This weekend I had better sleep and actually felt more myself last night though back to crap sleep and I'm feeling tired today.  Ugh I just really would like myself back at a consistent pace.  I had some anxiety last night which kept me from sleeping really well.  Also a girl on a group I belong to said you can feel clomid symptoms up to 3 months wtf?  I really hope that is not me.  Oh and DD has Flu  and been sleeping all day - makes me sad.

I did teach my 4 yo student today and he really is doing very well for his age.

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What was the worst date you ever had?
In college I went out 1 time with a guy and learned he smokes weed and wrecked his own car - geez that was not a good way to start our relationship that never happened.  I met him at blockbuster.  Remember that store? lol

What are you thankful for this week?
      naps lol :)

  • @bakerstreetboys Glad you have a consult! That stinks it takes so long :(

@vlagrl29 Naps are the best!! I wish I could take more of them, but older I get, I'm not able to even when super tired!

@vlagrl29 Poor DD! Hope she feels better soon!!

@kristimh80  We has a girls night on sat night!! It’s was much needed!! Love my girls!

@bakerstreetboys Ugh thats a long wait! How long have you guys been TTC?
  • Status (WTO/TWW/Benched/in process of testing or treatment): TWW

    CD, CD/DPO (if applicable): CD17/3DPO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): prenatals, Vit D, CoQ10

Rants/Raves: Sad I missed last week's check in. DS got sick last Thursday, Urgent Care confirmed Flu A the next day & he started to turn a corner last Sunday. That's when I started with a nasty cold which I am *FINALLY* starting to feel better from. My DH left for a business trip overseas (France & UK) that day for 5 days. I swear to God DS was getting better when suddenly his started showing the exact symptoms that I had and was sick all over again!! I was absolutely miserable and was a single mom last week. That was the roughest week I've had since becoming a mom. Thankfully DH returned home Thursday and has taken the reins a bit. It's so hard to watch your LO suffer, even after doing everything you can to treat their symptoms. Broke my heart into a million little pieces. Happy it's in my rearview mirror.

    Questions for the group:
I'm 42, DOR, have a blocked tube & my DH SA quantity was low at last check. I finished up my diagnostic testing & will meet with RE 3/5 to discuss a plan going forward. We decided to TTC this cycle but if I'm not KU this cycle, we're wondering if we should TTC again next cycle in March. The thinking here is that we'd give my body 2 cycles of TTC on our own since I only have one working tube. WWYD if you were me: HIO one more cycle or go right for IUI/IVF?

GTKY: What was the worst date you ever had?
I went out on a date with the cousin of a work friend of mine. I was going to meet up with her down the shore afterwards so I drove down to AC and met him at a bar/club. He looked just like Brad Pitt and I was floored-so cute! Then, he asked me if I rolled or not. I'd never heard this expression so I thought he meant roll joints so I was like "no". He laughed at me but was so excited because he thought he'd break in a newbie. When he showed me the pills, I was like-no thanks! So he gave the other pill to some random girl there and they were basically high AF the rest of the night. I left and met up with my friend. The next morning we woke up and were getting ready to leave her aunt's house and he was sitting at the table. He didn't remember meeting me. WTH?

What are you thankful for this week?
I am thankful for my health and my family.

@vlagrl29 I hope you get back to feeling like “you” soon-you’ve been through a lot! So sorry to hear about your DD having the flu. (((hugs))) Hope she’s better soon!

@kristimh80 Yay for girl time! That’s awesome that you got out and had a little fun!

@ndz2018 Ouch! I hope you’re feeling better soon! And, as far as that horrible date is concerned, um…overshare much! But thankfully he did because you knew right away that he was not a keeper!

@bakerstreetboys I’m sorry for your losses & to hear that about your doctor. I’m happy to hear that you’re going to see a RE. GL! And, what a sneaky guy to take you to see his OWN band!? LAME!

  • Status (WTO/TWW/Benched/in process of testing or treatment):  Not sure - WTO or TWW; I may have missed O or it may still be coming. I have been traveling and my temps may not have been reliable, or, i may just not be ovulating this cycle, or it's going to be a long one. :/

CD, CD/DPO (if applicable): CD 11

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): temping/charting and OPKs, prenatal; I also stopped the acne meds I was on before that were throwing off my cycle. I think it's getting better.

    Rants/Raves
: Rant about work travel: way too much of it, and at the wrong time. Rave about April and most of May when I won't have any work travel for six weeks, and during beautiful weather.

    Questions for the group:
For those of you charting, do you ovulate almost every month?

GTKY: What was the worst date you ever had?
I once went on a blind date with a guy who was very full of himself. He was 20 minutes late, informed me he had just come from "another date with a dominatrix" and proceeded to talk about his career in investment banking. I think he gathered from my bored look that this wasn't the way to impress me, so he tried to talk me into going "back to his office" where he had some fine wine a client gave him. I was out of there 15 minutes after he arrived for a total of 35 minutes of a terrible date; I guess it could have been  worse.

What are you thankful for this week?
This will be cheesy but health and family.

  • @vlagrl29 Ha! blockbuster... yes, I remember it well. One of my early relationships in college basically consisted of going to Blockbuster, getting a movie, and eating Twizzlers on the couch. Ah, the good old days. Now my husband and I watch Netflix and eat premium licorice from Trader Joe's, lol.

@mich_elle Ugh, sorry to hear about your kid getting sick while your husband was away! i travel a lot for work and hate it... even more so if anyone at home is sick. I still don't know what 'rolled' means? (Probably best if you don't tell me.)

@ndz2018 Yikes, that's a truly awful first date!

  • @marijaa333 I hated whenever something threw off my data collection too! So frustrating that “life” just gets in the way. Yay for April & May! I’m using FF to track my cycles, OPKs, CM but not temping. I did that a few years ago and it just wore me down. I do ovulate every month, almost on the same day too. And ugh, to that horrible date. Seriously, these guys need a friggin filter! Oh, and to answer your question, “rolling” refers to doing the drug Ecstasy. I share because I think people should be informed if they don’t know!

  • @marijaa333 I always got positive OPK's when was charting, but found out later after doing fertility tests that I don't usually ovulate on my own b/c of PCOS ovaries that I had no idea I had either. Sadly, those tests can't tell you 100%.

We are at a children's urgent care cause tonight I saw DD spit up blood in the toilet. Rather be safe than sorry. She has the flu the last 2 days and never been this sick. Hopefully won't be too late of a night.

  • @marijaa333 I temp/chart, and use OPKs, and as far as I know, I ovulate every month.  It's hard when something throws off your schedule!  Nice that you have a break from travel coming up :)

@mich_elle Poor DS!  I hope he's finished being sick!  And what an awful first date!  Your friend didn't know what her cousin was into?

@ndz2018 I had my IUD taken out in June, so we've been trying since then.  I seem to get pregnant fairly easily, it's keeping the pregnancies that's the problem.  It's most likely due to my age.

    @vlagrl29 Oh no!
  • thanks ladies!  It was a late night.  We got back at 2am so we all slept in but DD still got up at 8.  They monitored her with zofran and gatorade.  Then took a sample of the blood that was in her puke and she had a chest xray which was great.  The zofran was such a good thing.  They told us to stop giving her tamiflu as they and myself thought it was making her way more sick because you have to take it with food and she was barely eating the last 2 days.  She's feeling better today because she's actually talking and eating jello.

  • @mich_elle I would personally go straight to the RE/ IVF we went and they got us rolling ASAP! We went right passed IUI to IVF , personally that’s what I would Push for as I maybe know one person, personally , that got preg with IUI. I figured me being 37 and I dont Have any LOs yet I wanted To get moving. She said if she found 1 thing wrong it was straight to IVF. We have MFI, low count and morph so next cycle we did our ER, Jan had my surgery to remove my septate uterus and now we are WFFET in April.

@bakerstreetboys Enjoy the time before the RE once you go they get moving fast.. as soon as your cycle starts.

@vlagrl29 Glad DD is doing better today, poor thing!

@Labluver2 WOOHOO to Mexico!!! So jealous!

  • @vlagrl29 glad she is getting better and hope you can all get some sleep soon
  • @vlagrl29 OMG! Scary. And of course she was up early because kids! But I’m happy to hear she’s getting better.

@ndz2018 Thank you for your opinion! I’m leaning more towards just pulling the trigger (pun intended!) on IVF especially due to my age. We would do the genetic testing done on the embryo so I think I’d feel better having the info. OMG April! Yay!!!

    @marijaa333 LOL you’re welcome!

    @labluver2 Mexico…what a dream! Good for you!

@bakerstreetboys Thank you! Yes, he’s all better now. And, I’m guessing that she didn’t know because I would like to think she would’ve told me!

probably the time I went on a date with a guy who wouldn't stop talking about finding a wife and what he wanted in a wife...talk about PRESSURE! I was at an age where I was hoping to find my husband and this guy was good looking and successful but he just really scared me off.

  • Saw my naturopath again today and my adrenals are better but my cortisol is high so she gave me a supplement for that. Also told me about doteera oils and suggested a few for me. The cortisol is probably the reason for me still waking in the night.

@mich_elle That is too cool! I’ve met one other girl who had it happen years ago too! She reached out to me on TB right after i had mine removed and i was looking for hopeful stories. At the time i remember thinking “yeah, that’ll never happen to me”!

  • @vlagrl29 I’ve been to a doTerra demonstration before.. they’re good stuff but pricey

@Laurakat81 Welcome again! Glad to have you here!!
  • @ndz2018 - Yeah I'm just ordering the Balance oil for now to put in my diffuser at night.  She told me to add cinnamon to water or tea up to 3 times a day as she thought that the reason I was nauseated and dry heaving in the morning was due to low blood sugar.  I put some in my tea last night and guess what - no dry heaving this morning!  FX that continues.

It’s been so long since we were able to TTC on our own, going on month 5 since our first RE visit, I just realized that I should Be Oing in the next few days! I think I’ll dust off the CBE OPK and start testing today CD12, meant to start yesterday but totally forgot. I mean I highly doubt I’ll get KU due to our MFI but low count/low morph  doesn’t mean no count and no morph so some soldiers are still marching in there! And if i don’t we move forward at the end of March for our first FET... pending that AF cooperates! When I was waiting To start our IVF AF decided to be 12 days late!
  • I'm so happy it's march.  The last 2 days have been really good for me.  I'm getting more sleep at night.  I think the supplement my naturopath gave me is working well.  I haven't gotten nauseated or sick the last 2 mornings.  FX it continues :)  Last night in bed DH said it was good to have me back.  I still get pretty tired mid afternoon but I think that's to be expected as I completely wore myself out for all of Feb.  When I had the loss in 2016  I was taking a nap every day for a little while so I think it happens when the body gets all stressed.  Hoping I can add more yoga in my days now.

  • @ndz2018 I know what you mean girl!!! Last month I didn't break out the OPK's, but I knew around the time O was so we figured "what the heck"! I thought about how ironic it would be if it took IVF to make my body normal and act right! lol

@kristimh80 Hey it happens!!! I’m mentally all set for my FET but if it happened I wouldn’t be mad, again it is a slim chance so I’m not that hopeful but Screw It why not try! When is your tentative transfer date?
  • @ndz2018 I agree!! It would be great to have that miracle and nice for little hope without meds!! I'm guessing my FET will be the week of the 26th, just depending on when AF shows this month. Dr said AF timing could be a little wonky so who knows! I figure like retrieval, I'll fall right on the line again for April FET group. Do you have an idea for April for yours?
