October 2018 Moms

Goodbye :(

I wasn’t going to post this but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to get my story out there, one to voice my emotions but also to encourage others to advocate for yourselves!

this pregnancy has been a roller coaster from the beginning, I’ve had slow rising betas and the drs were slightly optimistic. Last Friday, after my 4th slow rise beta result I asked for an ultrasound. They told me I was too early and needed to get at least one more beta. So I did yesterday, it was still rising but not doubling. Tuesday I started cramping and was still having pains today. The nurse told me I would have to wait until next week for an ultrasound since I was so early. I insisted on being seen today so they got me in and it was confirmed via ultrasound this pregnancy is ectopic.

I am doing ok, very sad but I had a feeling something wasn’t right. I’m so glad I was insistent on being seen bc I believe I caught it in time to (hopefully) save my tube and avoid surgery.

Sorry for the long post but please, if something doesn’t feel right CALL your doctor. I wish you all the best and a happy and healthy 8ish more months.

Oh @nmbrcrnchr1 I am so so sorry.  I had to advocate for myself as well.  I'm not sure if you know this but I also had an ectopic.    I know this is scary what you're going through and unfortunately I've been there and I'm here for you if you need anything.  An ear, to vent, distract,  whatever. Thinking of you.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad however that you stood up and were able to find it early. I know people who can't try naturally anymore because of ectopics.

  • I’m so sorry for your loss, but thank you for posting! I have a very good friend who almost died from the emergency surgery she had at 11 weeks for the same reason. Drs kept telling her to wait and didn’t even run beta tests saying her feelings were normal.

    sending hugs and good thoughts.
