@neeraja_k I think its a mixture. We have some kids at my school that are fairly far from normal social interactions, and I pointed out on an essay that they kept misspelling a word. Kid called our district office and threatened to 'run (princesslockness) down, to teach her a lesson.' I had to go in with the google version histories printed and show that that was all of them, before the cops were called and the student removed from my building.
While I also have other students who have been bullied to the point of they won't make eye contact with anyone, or even speak in class. I point blank asked one what Pandora station she wanted for the day as it was her turn (I have rotation stations, but also have the strict 'no comments' rule on others choices as long as school-appropriate). She refused to even write it down as her bullies were in the next class hour and would see what she picked before I switched it over.

UGGHHH DH just called me because his first flight out of El Paso is delayed and he's going to miss his connection and with coming from West to East, there's no other flight options to get him out tonight so now he won't be home until tomorrow afternoon.

@rocknrrollmom I think my hair is too thick to be held by bobby pins without forming some kind of painful updo. You did make me think of those clamshell hair clips that I used to wear when my hair was longer! I might try one of those tomorrow. I end up covered by a hair net most of the day anyway, so it doesn't have to be pretty.

@doctormom33 my headaches are way worse in a ponytail, and I've just been clipping my hair up with a hair clip (maybe the same thing you're describing) for a few months. It's grown pretty long too after cutting it into a pixie after my son was born (bad idea) so I am never cutting it again lol.

I second all the WTF school threats stuff. We've had one in the past, and it was taken care of swiftly and correctly, and no other issues since then, thank god. I seriously wonder why these kids think they can do that - or that it's cool - or that it's something they're going to get away with even.

@hezzer78 My principal does, but our log entries don't travel from school to school even in district. Also these kids don't know how to step away from their social media to protect themselves. Majority of the time they don't understand that even if it continues to be said, you don't have to see/hear it and you can still be ok.

We also haven't been able to find the people making the threats to our area the last 2 days. So the kids get a 'it doesn't count against the days you can miss' absence and think its great to be able to stay home.

I think that a lot of kids know everyone is hyper-vigilant right now and hope that a threat will shut down the school, essentially giving them a vacation day. As for the bullying, I’ve been at one school district where behavior was sooo much worse than when I graduated in ‘05. I won’t bother to even apply for a job there because the admin’s way of dealing with behavior is such a complete joke. At my local school district the bullying seems to be about the same as when I was in school, but the kids often don’t know how to deal with it. Plus a lot of parents don’t teach their kids the coping skills to deal with any kind of social interactions anymore because it’s easier to shove a tablet in their faces.

WTF me - my boss and I had a great talk earlier this week and I suggested some changes we could make that would make things run a little smoother. She said that she liked my ideas, put them together and shoot her an email so we can discuss further. I still haven't done it because I keep getting distracted by piddly shit that can wait...

WTF my husband's surgeon. Dude keeps changing how long my husband has to be on crutches (2- no 6- no 4 weeks) and walking out of the exam room after half-answering questions. Kind of wish my husband had let me find a doctor for him instead of picking his own.

The kiddo refused to sleep last night, and I really mean all night. Crying, screaming, can't decide who he wants to hold him. Even Elmo couldn't comfort him. First time we've ever had a night that bad. This morning my Fitbit reminded me that I need to get more sleep because I only slept 1.5 hrs last night...wtf

I've done it for our neighbor who thinks kittens are the greatest thing ever and I'm so over being overrun with feral cats eating all of the song birds and fighting my elderly outside cat over her food (she can't be inside due to urinary incontinence, and she was a barn cat when we adopted her anyway, so she's happier sleeping in our heated garage and coming and going in the yard).

Solidarity! I usually feel awful after eating, but I also feel awful if I don't eat. I'm trying different things, but only bread/carbs seem to sit well. I'm about to tackle some broccoli and see how that goes.

@neeraja_k our town actually has animal control officers that come out, trap feral/unchipped kitties, and get them spayed/neutered, and given rabies vaccines. Dh called them today, and they should be out trapping tomorrow woo. Hopefully one more day of this, praying howling kitty isnt chipped.

It is the feeling of not being satisfied even though I feel overly full. I also have to eat or I feel sick. I can’t win. Yum, to broccoli. I love veggies, but have only been wanting carby (is that a word?) foods. Sigh!

@doctormom33 can you French braid? Pony tails can give me headaches too so I’ve been trying to braid my hair more. Sometimes it’s not pretty but if yours is in a hair net then it might not matter.

@melbel0824 that's a great idea. My hair hasn't been long enough to braid in a long time (I've cut it short since the week after I got home from my honeymoon 5 years ago) but I did used to braid it when it was long enough. Will have to see if I can manage it yet at its current length!

My co-worker has a test day song she sings in the halls. Its the Circus theme, and where it does the quick pattern and drop its 'test to-da-ay, test to-da-ay' it gets stuck in my head for weeks after she has a test.
