Hi ladies! I'm back here after taking a few months off. I see many new "faces" here so here's a little re-intro for me. I was on the IF boards in 2016 while going through my first IVF cycle. Prior to that, we did a few IUI's all with no luck. Then we were fortunate enough to have a successful first FET from our first IVF cycle and now have a beautiful 13 month old baby boy. He's the love of my life, aside from DH of course . DH and I decided to go for baby #2 last month. Everything was going super smoothly and quickly, unlike with the first transfer. We only had 1 embryo left in storage, so we transferred him (we knew it was another boy) at the end of January. 2 weeks ago we got the news that our transfer didn't work . We're now gearing up for a whole new cycle, so I'll probably be more active on the IF boards. But figured I'd post here as well if any of my former mom-buddies are still around. I'd love to keep in touch and read everyone's baby updates. This board was so helpful for me, especially as a first time mom. So hope you ladies don't mind if I read up on posts and participate in discussions.

Hi @Tulips29 and @yellow22 I remember you guys from the IVF boards back in 2016!! So good to "see" you guys!! Sorry to hear about a failed transfer . I hope your next cycle goes smoothly. Good luck to you both!
My son just turned 1 last week and last month we had found out the shocking news that I had gotten pregnant naturally. When we were diagnosed with MFI were told it would not be possible and IVF was our only chance. We had been planning a FET for summer with our frozen embryo. So we will likely be doing an FET a few years from now with that embryo.

@chicandbubbly Hi!!! I absolutely remember you too. Wow what amazing news!!! Hope you have a smooth pregnancy. I always hear stories of this happening to people after having trouble to conceive the first time (especially from my mom lol), I’m glad that was your case!

@yelllow22 we’re going for a consult with our RE next week. I also need to get on a major diet and loose weight before proceeding with the next cycle. Hoping to be ready by the summer. Seems so far away though!
@chicandbubbly hi!!! Omg this is amazing news, congratulations!!! I’ve heard of so many people like this as well. Interestingly enough my mom was also one of them. Struggled with me, had to go through medicated cycles and then got pregnant with my brother without even trying. And I have a few friends too. I’ve been hoping to be one of these lucky women but so far no such luck. So great your little ones will be so close on age too

Just thought I'd sneak in and chime in on the conversation! It's good to see some familiar "faces" around here. I haven't logged into the bump in months, but just happened to this afternoon, for whatever reason. I'm glad I did!
@Tulips29 I'm so sorry to hear about your failed transfer. Good luck to you with your upcoming cycle!
So nice to 'see' all these familiar names! I had Alyce 9 1/2 months ago and am currently 4weeks +3 days with a little girl made from an egg donated by my sister. We transferred on my sister's birthday, which was just perfect. She (and my entire family) have no idea that we did our FET. So excited to tell them over Easter!
Me: Age 40 Husband: Age 41 Chemo killed my ovaries (along with a BRCA1 mutation, which causes DOR) 4/30/13 ER just prior to chemo: 8 embryos frozen at 2pn. 2 survived to blasts/1 PGS normal
4/16 ER cancelled on CD7: 1 follicle on L/ 0 follicles on R FET #1 7/13/16 BFN
Super shocker +HPT 9/19 Baby Alyce arrived 5/8/17
Went forward with donor eggs from my sister for baby #2 ER 4/24, 5 eggs fertilized/1 survived to blast and was chromosomally normal.
FET 2/15 (my sister/donor's birthday!). Beta 10dp5dt:172; beta 12dp5dt: 425
@PNW12RN oh that's amazing news, congratulations! I bet your family will be so ecstatic. Wishing you happy and healthy pregnancy!
So we went for a consultation with the RE this week and it was eye-opening. Apparently after my failed transfer, I got a period which the nurses told me was a real period and to try naturally. So we tried and tried, and then the RE told me there's ZERO chance I would get pregnant naturally because it wasn't a "real period with ovulation". What a bummer. I had such high hopes to have a miracle natural pregnancy and I feel like it's just another kick in the gut while I'm already down from the failed transfer. I was told I need to loose weight before proceeding with the retrieval cycle, so now that's my mission. Hoping I can ready by the summer.

@Tulips29 Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that. It's so hard to get your hopes up only to have them crushed like that. Good luck to you this summer!
We haven't decided yet when we're going to try for the next baby. We are thinking of waiting until Elle is 2 (she's 9 months old now) but we aren't 100% certain. We have 6 remaining frozen embryos and will do another FET when we are ready, but we also aren't preventing pregnancy either. I know it's unlikely we'll get pregnant naturally but all these positive stories give me hope!

Our Twins are almost 11 months and we have started talking about if and when we would want to try an FET with our last embryo. At first my husband said no more kids but he has come around. Like @wifeinraleigh28 we are not protecting against getting pregnant but will probably wait another year to do our FET. I am glad I'm not the only one who opted out of birth control. After our fertility journey it's nice to be hormone free and not worry about any medications.

@Tulips29 sorry to hear about the failed transfer and the challenges with ovulation. I hope you find a way forward
@PNW12RN wow! Congratulations! I remember you so well from our pregnancy days. So happy to read your news x
Lara is 10 months now (where did the time go?!) and she is just amazing and our everything. We might consider number 2 soon too and as you others are not taking any precaution. But I guess it would be too easy to get pregnant naturally. We still have 6 embabies - all boys! - so we at least don’t have to go through the whole process from scratch.
@wifeinraleigh28 I saw Elle’s pic on another thread. She’s gorgeous. @kelrauh so happy to hear the twins are well. I remember your story so well x

Hi ladies !!! It’s so nice to hear how y’all are doing ! My son is 15 mo and I was on here when I was trying to get pregnant with him with IVF . My husband and I are talking about baby number two but ideally I would like to wait to closer to my son’s second bday to get pregnant . But I know the whole process can take some time so wondering if I should start earlier in case it takes us awhile . We have 8 embryos in storage . We also don’t know if we should transfer one or two . Last time we transferred two and ended up with my son . He’s a joy but he’s a handful and not sure we can handle twins on top of him lol .

I would be totally selfishly good with my one. But I do want to give her a sibling. We have four embryos frozen. And I’ll be 38 in a month. Holy cow! So I feel like we shouldn’t waste time. I Just want to do it and get it over with!!
Ahhh @mskeenan and @Drove2u it’s so good to hear from you both! What a reunion. I’m so glad to hear that your babies are doing so well!
@mskeenan We are also trying to figure out when to start the process! I also wanted to wait until Elle was closer to 2 to get pregnant but as all of us know it hasn’t worked out like that for us! Who knows how long/how many transfers it will take! I think I would be ok with our babies being 3-4 years apart though if it came to that. It will happen how it happens I guess!

So good to hear from all you ladies! I can't believe our little ones are growing so quickly! It seems we were just pregnant a minute ago.
While we're preparing for the second cycle, we're letting nature take its course also. If something happens by a miracle, I'll be forever grateful. If not, I'm hoping we'll be ready to start injections by the summer. As this point my husband has learned not to plan things. Our RE also said that with my PCOS it's likely half of the embryos we make will be abnormal, which is so surreal to think about and so scary. I'm terrified to end up with 1 good embryo again by the time we're ready to transfer. He won't let me transfer more than 1 because a twin pregnancy will cause a million complications for me and it'll be a very hard pregnancy. So many things to consider!

Hi everyone! I meant to come back and update you all ... I am freaking out right now. I’ll try to make this a short as possible. I am scheduled for a FET tomorrow. Yesterday I started feeling super nauseous and threw up a ton, and dh made take a test and I swear I see the faintest line. I had an IUD which was removed on 2/14 and we were supposed to use protection after that but we totally forgot, I guess we also never thought anything could happen. What’s confusing is I was up all night throwing up but also have diarrhea (sorry for the TMI) ... currently waiting to take another test and call RE’s office

@yellow22 how did it go? I have a consultation scheduled with my clinic but he’s a month out so it’s not until mid May. I’m so much more relaxed this time too. They asked me if I wanted to be put on a waiting list for an earlier appt and I said no since I’m not in a rush. Honestly I’m ok with my one, and I also don’t feel like going through pregnancy again and labor but I do want to give her a sibling. Is this all awful to say? So if it didn’t work this time around I would be ok with that. But would love for her to have a brother or sister too!
@Drove2u I got all BFN at home then got a call Friday saying my beta was 6 and that chances were minimal but they’ve seen pregnancies continue with those levels. Got a faint positive that night at home which got lighter Saturday and went away on Sunday. We’ve been out of town so next beta is tomorrow but I guess I know it’s a BFN. Good luck with your consult! We have 2 more PGS tested embryos. Not sure when we’ll call it quits, this is draining... and we are very happy with our girl, but like you said we want to give her a sibling. I said I wouldn’t stress but here I am... we’ll see. Hopefully I can get back to my rational thinking

@yellow22 ugh. So sorry to hear this. Saying you’re not going to stress is much easier said than done I guess. Will you do another transfer soon? I actually forget how many embryos we have frozen. I think 4? We will keep trying until we use all of them up and then that’s it. I won’t be doing an ER again.
@Drove2u I guess we will, other than the 2 tested ones we have a few more but PGS cost us almost $5k so I doubt we’ll do it again. We haven’t really decided what we’ll do from now on. I hear you about retrieval, not looking forward to going through that again for sure. Anyway, May is almost here, that’s exciting! Hope your LO is doing great, they grow up so quickly!

Hey Ladies!!!! I was reading through this thread and saw so many familiar names and loved reading everyone's updates. I thought I would join in because I cycled with a lot of you ladies at one point too, we just finally had our BFP a little bit later.
@Tulips29 I am so sorry to hear that your transfer failed. Keep your hope and as a few of these ladies already showed us miracles happen! Praying that the next cycle is your cycle! Or maybe a surprise comes early!
@chicandbubbly and @babylonghorn16 Very exciting news for you two!! I haven't even announced this anywhere yet but DH and I were also not using Birth control either as our DX was blocked tubes. I mean I asked and asked and asked again if there was any chance we could get a BFP on our own. Welp I got my first natural BFP 2 weeks ago. Off the the RE on Friday to confirm but if all goes well we're expecting baby #2 in Dec! Another surprise member of the 2 under 2 club.

I have exactly four weeks to go until my consult. While I would be ok with just my one I do want to give this a good try before I can really feel good about it. So I’m just praying that insurance covers everything again otherwise we’re out!! Anyway I’m expecting the time to go by fast. I have two trips to California to get through first, a weekend away, a communion party and mother’s day. Sigh.

@PNW12RN - congrats that is sooo exciting! I'm glad you will be able to surprise everyone, normally you dont get that with ivf.
@chicandbubbly - congrats! What great news! You give us all hope!!

I am excited to see everyone getting ready to cycle again!! Good luck to all you ladies

I have exactly four weeks to go until my consult. While I would be ok with just my one I do want to give this a good try before I can really feel good about it. So I’m just praying that insurance covers everything again otherwise we’re out!!
