Flame Free Friday Confessions

Re: Flame Free Friday Confessions

  • @runsomewhere I’m the same way with anyone who smokes. The stench is the biggest thing for me. Plus, I’m allergic to it so after one whiff my eyes get itchy, I start sneezing, and I wheeze and cough. Not worth to be around people who smoke. My Step MIL has never babysat my 2 year old because she smokes, and we almost never go to their house because of it.

  • @Kenya715 I actually don’t have a microwave and haven’t for a few years, I just don’t have a place for one that makes sense. We’ve made due with a toaster oven but I soooo miss microwave popcorn.
  • @powellgirl I'm like that with anyone that smokes too but she's the only one in my life that does it. I can't even think of anyone I know that does it. Honestly I mostly see homeless or drugged out people smoking.

  • I haven't been taking my prenatals regularly at all. :-(
To explain, I was so sick at first that pills and the overly sugary gummies we're both nauseating and now I am out of the habit.

  • @runsomewhere my MIL smokes too and it just makes me so sad for my H and my son. She's not my favorite person but it kills me knowing she won't live as long as she should because of it, and they will have less time with their mom/grandma.

I also don't have a microwave. It's been almost 3 years, there's just no room in our kitchen. We also use a toaster oven for most things. Mmmm microwave popcorn does sound good (I think it's really bad for you though?)
  • @flockofmoosen3 my understanding is they are most helpful in first tri and not a must after that? also i detest them

  • @zande2016 I feel sad about that too. Like you prefer smoking over seeing your grand kids grow up and being there for your son?

I have a microwave but I haven't owned a toaster in over 10 years. If I ever make toast I just put it in the oven on broil.

@Kenya715 Thank you for sharing that perspective. I definitely try to understand the addiction but it's hard for me to grasp. I often have the mindset that if you want something bad enough you make it happen.

  • FFFC: I like my share of cold food OK?! I work on the 4th floor and the microwave is on the 2nd. I want to enjoy my cold pizza in peace but my coworkers will NOT leave me alone. -.- Fine, I won't eat then. I'm too lazy to walk to the microwave.

  • @gspmom21 I love cold leftovers. I had a whole cold cheese burger for lunch and it was amaaaaaazinggg
  • @gspmom21 my hubby would chew occasionally when we started dating and I said the same thing “sorry, I will never kiss you if you’ve been chewing” that was enough motivation for him to kick it. Though he wasn’t addicted or anything so it wasn’t like a hard task.
  • Also, @wildtot yours made me lol because I totally do that and DD drops stuff on the floor then eats it all the time so I'm like oh yeah that's not the norm.....?

  • Bumping and people watching instead of work today. I just move one window to a different screen when someone walks by to look busy.
  • wildtot This has been me today. It's been such a crazy week so I've taken today to work on some studying for a certification course my work is paying for so I'm justifying not doing "regular" work because of that and have been taking "study breaks" to look at the Bump.
  • @wildtot I've done such little work today too! So much to think about these days and so little motivation!
  • @gspmom21 I actually do not smell the coconut at all. It smells more of a fresh flower with a hint of coco butter.

  • @BrittG13 Ooh thanks for the recommendation! I also didn't like 50 Shades but I did end up reading all of them just to see where it would go :D Sad to say it was my introduction into that genre and I haven't gone back because it was so bad. I'll give it another shot with the Crossfire series though!

  • @BrittG13 I agree, Crossfire series is WAY better than 50 Shades!

  • I skimmed 50 Shades because it was just sex scene after sex scene after sex scene. I couldn’t do it anymore. I do like the story line, and I did enjoy the movies, but the writing was very simple and way too much gosh darn sex!
  • @BrittG13 I shamelessly love 50 shades- but I also LOVE the crossfire series!!!!!!! Any other recommendations!?
  • @catftm2018 I just finished Steel Brothers series (9 books) based on someone's recommendation (@paytonpedro, was it you?). GREAT series!! Good amount of kink with crime solving (the crime solving sucked me in more than the kink).

  • @catftm2018  Not in the sex genre! I only read half of the first 50 shades. I just couldn’t...I forget how I found out about Crossfire but I devoured those books. My happy place is historical novels...bookbub has tons of free books and they always seem to have a few in that realm which is great because if it’s awful, you didn’t buy it and you can just delete it and move on!
