I had a hormone- and anxiety-fueled rage meltdown last night. Like full on crying and yelling at DH. I don't remember the last time I actually yelled at someone - I'm non-emotional to a fault. Poor DH had no idea what to do. He actually handled it pretty well, but I'm pretty sure he thinks this baby broke me. I apologized, and we're all good, but it was super scary to feel that out of control!! I'm glad DS wasn't awake to witness it.

@lakesideknitter I have definitely had those moments and when I do, I can tend to throw things. Not at people, but the floor and I scare myself. I'm glad you worked it through though. Did you at least feel better after it LOL
Totally had a meltdown yesterday while I was working from home because I felt like my clients weren't being nice to me. I always hold everything in and then the stupidest thing will make me completely lose my shit. At least it's finally Friday?!
I am way too excited to be pregnant for shamrock shake season. Last year I was a few weeks postpartum and wasn’t trying to add anymore weight to my ass so I limited myself to two. This year it’s on!
@lakesideknitter - I've been there lately. Sorry girl. I'm glad things are good this morning
I feel like a terrible mother and wife for admitting this but since we found out we're expecting I've created my own little pile of goodies in the pantry / fridge and the other humans in my house are not allowed to touch them. I feel guilty for like a second but when our 12 year old is steadily eating us out of house and home you gotta do what you gotta do. In my defense, it's mostly diabetic-friendly stuff and some things that I need just in case my sugars crash (nomming all the peanut M&Ms) and the kiddo will literally clean out my stash is I don't stop him.
But I balance with making sure he has his own stash too. So we're good.
I love Cardi B and Nicki Minaj and I listen to thier songs, I put them on when I am cleaning and I "rap" along. If you saw me IRL, I'm the least 'rap' looking person ever. I'm a 90's Alternative type of gal. And DS plays with DH's phone sometimes and he manged to open up Amazon Music the other day and put on Nicki Minaj and started saying "mama! mama!"
*ETA - not that you have to look a certain way to like a certain type of music, obviously. I'm just a pretty average teacher mom type person, probably not your typical Cardi/Nicki fan!
@ecwk I can totally relate. I'm a small petite, super pale girl with red hair (again not that you have to look a certain way, like you say) but I totally will jam out to what are now I guess "old school jams" in my car. I went to a very diverse High School so my tastes are all over the place. Rap to country to folk, etc. Just wait until some Busta or Missy come on my playlist hahaha
@scottishlass1213 I am a 90s Hip Hop and "old school jams" girl too. I also went to a diverse high school so I am the same way with liking all kinds of music. T
FFFC: While in California I had a few sips of wine and ate 2 pieces of sushi that had raw fish. I ordered a cooked roll for myself, but the ones my friends ordered looked SO good and I had a moment of weakness. As for the wine, we did wine tasting in Malibu and I tried the Pinot and the Cab because I'm a sucker for red wine. I know a a couple of sips is probably fine, but I still feel a little guilt since it's still kind of early. You'd be amazed at how tempting the wines and views in Malibu are though! Judge away
I'm in second tri now and will absolutely be enjoying a glass of wine here or there. I know lots of people flame that but I don't care. I've done it my last two pregnancies and I will do it again. I live in wine country, sorry not sorry.
I don't drink wine when I'm pregnant because I don't understand what they're talking about when they say you can have 4oz.....who wants 4oz of wine? I'd rather skip it.

Totally how I feel. If I was wine tasting I'd consider sipping but I can't envision ever sitting at home and pouring myself a small glass. I have an organic energy drink every day though. They are only 160 mg of caffeine and my OB said they are certainly preferable to the non-organic ones, but I am sure she did not mean "drink one every day." I just can't drink coffee every day though and I mentally "need" them to function at work.

That’s how I felt with my first pregnancy, too. I was like it’s not even worth it! I think traveling, wine tasting, being with a handful of my best friends definitely made it a different situation! I’m all for a glass here and there if you want, but I’m not sure I see myself just pouring a glass at home. Maybe if I have another atypical situation arise? We shall see!
I have to say that even the couple sips did taste pretty good!
Oh I most definitely go over my caffeine limit too. I mean as a full time working mom of two kids under 6 isn't coffee just a way of life? Like a close second to oxygen?
I love cabernets, but even wine hasn't sounded good to me since I got pregnant. I have been craving beer though, a deliciously ice cold, fizzy IPA. Mmm. I've sipped a few of my husband's beers when we're out to eat, just to taste it, and so far that seems to fix the craving.
But I'm not going to judge anyone for a glass of wine here or there once safely into the second trimester. I remember my grandmother telling me back in the early 40's her doctor recommended she drink a glass of stout beer every day when pregnant for the vitamins. How times have changed.
I can't even seem to tolerate the caffeine in tea anymore, it hits me hours after I drink it and keeps me up all night and messes my sleep schedule up. And coffee still doesn't smell or taste good.
I just commented a week or two ago about how coffee still sounded awful. Now I'm back to my daily cup! Feel a little guilty about the caffeine sometimes but man, it sure tastes good again. 2nd trimester really is an improvement for me. GIVE ME ALL THE CAFFEINE PLEASE.
@lalala2004 I saw the same article and heard it on the news. I took a few sips of DHs beer with DS in the third trimester because I was craving beer, but personally, that’s all I feel comfortable with. Doesn’t bother me when other people make different choices though.
I haven't decided if I will have a drink or not this pregnancy. I haven't really wanted one yet. We did have plans to go to Spain in March, and I was planning on having a glass of wine there (because, you know, Spain) but we cancelled our plans so will be staying home. I really just want a cold craft beer. So I may have one on my birthday (in April), and maybe one on the 4th of July. But that may be it for my drinking (if I decide to do that at all).
My confession is kind of lame cause I’ve got nothing else.
I really wish we could let the private group/FB talk die already. Clearly, the board isn’t on the same page and I don’t see why this topic is revisited almost every week. The people who want a private group can band together and create one and the rest can join in later.
I just don’t get why this is so important and it’s getting old.

I don't miss alcohol at all. But and I guess this is my FFFC I still kinda miss smoking. I quit as soon as I found out and would never smoke while pregnant. But, every once in awhile when stressed I think about how nice a cigarette would be. I am hoping to never smoke again so I hope that goes away.

I'm sure I'll get over it eventually but the smell/idea of it makes me sick.
Personally I have no problem with other ppl drinking a small amount while pregnant. It's actually a really common practice in some European countries.
Also. My kid just answered the door for the cable guy with no underwear on.
But sad little glass of wine will work for now.
