@delujm0@mrsbubbles-2 I emailed them last night on their website where they say you can get a free estimate on the price. If I don’t hear back by this afternoon I will call so I can go into my appointment tomorrow morning knowing what to do. Thanks for the tip!

@alinafed I don't think retinol is pregnancy approved. I'd ask your doc but I also think that if the spa or salon knows you're pregnant, they just won't use it on you.
Might be Tuesday, but it feels like a Monday because I was out with a migraine yesterday, plus I need to vent: I am going to stab someone for sho today. Nothing fits. One of the childrens brought one of my tennis shoes in the house and left the other in the car. Took my 30 minutes of searching before I figured this out. There are bags & bags o' stuff to be donated still sitting in the living room & all up in my way 4 days after I asked hubby to remove them. Pile (as tall as me) of camo hunting gear sitting in dining room (why??) for over a month now. DH has a V scheduled for Friday and just told me he never bothered to ask how much it would be. Work decided to throw 2 impossible deadlines on me today to add to the other one I already had. The guy working on our house keeps asking me questions he knows I don't have the answers to and then expects me to play middle man between him and DH. I spilled my coffee all over my desk The guy in the office next to me has changed his ring tone to that awful fax machine sound. Stab stab stab. Oh and DH has basically become my boss at work....... Lord help me.
Cookies & fake wine to all.
His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!
Ladies, anyone who has experience with OTR/Long Haul trucking: What are your experiences? Is it possible to have your SO on the road 5 - 10 days at a time, effectively turning your into a single parent, while keeping your sanity?

@alinafed yes and the technician and owner was also very knowledgeable as well as to what she should/shouldn't use on me. In fact she told me a lot of what she'd like to do if I weren't pregnant and at the end recommended products that were safe and natural for me to use, so I bought a couple.
My face is still a slight hot mess because I am trying really hard not to pick where it's healing so I am hoping that after this coming weekend, I will be like a new person. It was brutal though hahah
I still think I am going to call the dermatologist about my dry patch because it's growing

My exH didn't work OTR but he did work offshore on oil rigs for long periods of time and we always made it work. Obviously our marriage failed but it was not in any way related to us spending time apart. It's not the same as the traditional marriage but that worked for us, I got into a routine when he was away and we had a routine when he was home. It was super hard sometimes but momming is super hard sometimes no matter what.
Now that I'm a single mom I can safely say that no matter what, you will be able to do it. If I can, anyone can.
Update on my MBF from up the thread a bit - I had emailed the NIPT company about my insurance denying the referral and seeing how much it would be without insurance. Turns out it’s free! “I will be more than happy to assist you. We looked into your account and see that your amount owed is actually $0 because you have medical. Counsyl does not charge Medical patients so you are all set for free testing!” So I’ll get my doctor to draw it tomorrow at my appointment. Yay!

My mom did it. She still does. My dad started driving OTR when I was 2. I’m 35 now.
I guess the the one thing to keep in mind is that the 5-10 days OTR can change at anytime. There are times my dad is gone for 2-3 months and times he’s home every weekend like clockwork.
Right now, he hasn’t been home since Christmas. Their wives have to be tough cookies. And my dad wasn’t there when my baby brother was born. He couldn’t get home. Flexibility is key. But that’s true with so many jobs. Even corporate big wig jobs can be the source of tons of travel.
I dont think I could do what my mom does. And I’ve been a military wife. Saying goodbye for upwards of a year. But the constant gone? I couldn’t do it.
@princesslockness not OTR but DH is in the National Guard and contrary to what people think they put in and what they actually do is not the same. He is gone A LOT and it does throw us off but I create our own little routine when he's gone and when he comes back, we go back to our "normal" two parent routine I guess. It is hard and it's tiring, especially with time differences if those come into play.
@calimom2524 that’s good to know. I’m sorry your marriage didn’t work, but I’m really glad to hear that it wasn’t because of work separation issues.
@dirtanddiamonds flexibility is key, you are right. If we didn’t have our DC it wouldn’t be an option.
@scottishlass1213 Both of our families are in the same town 2.5 hours away. The kids and I could easily move over for the summer, and during school it should calm down, but IDK if that’s feasible being 7+ months pregnant

@princesslockness ahh I see. Yeah I don’t know, I mean people can do it. Traditional military don’t have families around and they survive, but my mom is 10 minutes away and so I have that comfort if I need her. Heck, she came over when I was at work today and cleaned and picked up DS from school. I’d be much more of a mess when DH goes if I knew I didn’t have a safety net. I’m no help lmao
@princesslockness I know it's not nearly the same thing, but DH is gone one week per month from Jan-June most years. DS and I get into a routine, and it's not awful. I do have a hard time not being bitter about being the 'go-to' parent, but DH makes a considerable amount more than I do, so I try to think about it in those terms. We also save money on food and gas when he's traveling, because it's on the company dime. It is really important to me that he's home on the weekends tho so that we can spend time as a family.

Thanks ladies! My next appointment is feb 20th and I plan to make sure I bring it up again. I did at the last appointment and they said they would get back to me later that day. Got a call back saying “good news is we can do the genetic testing anytime after 9 weeks so you will be fine” I said “so we are just going to ignore all the other tests that should be done by now?” Then got the good old “we can discuss that at your next appointment”...it’s frustrating.
Edited to add: my insurance only covers one OB practice in my area bc the insurance bought out the hospital so i can only go there and to their OB’s

I hope that people understand that if I "love-it" on a bitch fest, or otherwise negative post, it is out of empathy. I don't love that bad things are happening to you! My BF is that TB doesn't have any reaction options other than "love-it" which isn't always appropriate.

Ditto.
I like to love tit everything. Lol. Sometimes it is just acknowledgment. Love for everyone.
@sml72978 - I'm sorry you're in this position. I don't know if it helps at all but my MFM doc wasn't at all concerned when baby didn't' cooperate during the NT scan because the blood test results are far more accurate. He said that the NT is a bit dated and the blood test is so much more reliable. I'm sorry that you don't get the choice though, that's extremely frustrating.
