It's been kinda quiet here today - let's talk Valentine's Day. Do you love it, hate it, do the same thing every year or nothing at all? Do you have a favourite food, candy, movie, gift to give/receive, are you doing anything for your SO/kids? Any V-day (or anti-V-day) traditions? Drop it all here!
Re: Valentine's Day!
My main tradition since dating DH: I love to watch the movie 500 days of summer on Valentine's Day. Although it's technically about a breakup I find it such a great movie and that there is something romantic about it. So we may do that (we don't do it every year lately). In general, my idea of fun would not be to go out to a fancy restaurant on V-day - I feel like it would be so overpriced and just a ton of couples all trying to do the expected V-day thing. Last year we went to a burger joint. This year we are staying in - I mentioned it elsewhere but we are doing a date box (my surprise for DH) - and going out on Friday but not sure where yet. I already bought myself a new diaper bag which is my gift. I want to make heart-shaped pancakes for the kids tomorrow morning but may end up being too lazy lol. I love conversation hearts (hence my siggy).

We don't have anything planned. Right now, I would just be happy to have our house back to normal and watch Netflix. I did get him a mushy card but that's about it. Not feeling too romantic over here lol
Hello from Detroit!
I was thinking about that movie about the American kids that saved the train in France? It looks action-ish enough for DH and we both like real stories.
I only care about chocolate. So DH got me some from sees this year. DS1 blew that surprise when he came home and told me straight away. DH was so mad lol.
Other than chocolate we don’t do much. My mom is actually coming over and we are getting Indian lol.
August 18 Siggy Challenge: April Showers
Fortunately for my GD diagnosis, I'm not really craving candy at all. If I have a one off sweet craving, a strawberry or some apple wedges seems to fix it. I can't even get excited about the Lindt truffle ball things we have leftover from Christmas. I tried a bite of one and nope, it was gross. I'm sad that coffee and chocolate are still gross.
That said, I bought my husband a small box of handmade dark chocolate covered cherries from the local chocolate shop and a bottle of bourbon for just becausies. I finally found the baby's heartbeat on the home doppler this afternoon, and I recorded a 30 second clip of it on my phone. So I'll let that be the reason we celebrate.

On the other hand, DS's daycare sent home a list of all the kids in his class, which was how we learned that we're expected to give valentines to all of them. The kids in his class are all 1 or 2, so I did not expect that. So we got some little valentines and snacks from Target, and I get to spend the tonight assembling valentines. Also, we are supposed to bring spaghetti for a potluck. I hope they're okay with cold spaghetti, because I don't want to figure out how to keep it warm.
i assembles transformer valentines but luckily DS wrote all the names hahah
We totally slacked and didn’t do it last year but we were on vacation and my IL’s we’re watching him so that was our excuse haha
Jealous of you ladies that get flowers st work, I think that’s so fun.
