Weekend Randoms 2/10 & 2/11

Re: Weekend Randoms 2/10 & 2/11

  • So ended up spending too much at BRU yesterday- but over half of what I bought was clothes for both kids...DD got like 5 pairs of shoes.  I needed a bunch of boogie wipes since DD is always sick, so cleaned them out.  Not being in market for any of the big stuff helped make the shopping g trip seem more worth while since i bought more toddler gear than baby stuff.  I feel pretty good about where I am in terms of clothes, bottles and nursery stuff for him.

    DD had a leakage situation while we were out though- and now has the worst diaper rash I have ever seen.  She barely slept last night and would cry every time I had to change her diaper.  I was a hot hormonal mess at 3 am... crying along with her.  Debating pulling her from daycare cause I just don't think I can handle her being sick any longer.

  • @stephcat421 i feel like i need to get out and be social soon. I had a limited social life before pregnancy and only have 4 close friends here locally (2 of which had losses last year so I don’t talk to them about pg stuff) since announcing publicly I haven’t seen any of my friends. But between not really having anything I like to wear anymore and my hair always being a mess it doesn’t seem worth the effort to get out.

  • @jsl82 use Calmoseptine on the diaper rash! It is a miracle worker. DD gets diaper rash that blisters when she’s teething and this stuff takes care of it in a day. You can find it in most drug stores in the “rash” aisle I think. It’s a white tube with a sea green label. I’m glad you were able to stock up on some good stuff though! We love boogie wipes too

    @jsl82 yes, calmoseptine is wonderful. We send it to the nursing homes for the elderly for same purpose. If your pharmacy doesn't have it, they can certainly order it for you. It's also on Amazon. Hope your LO feels better soon.

    Good call @sunshineandwhiskey

    @burlapandlace I hope your evening out was wonderful!  Happy birthday.

    @doxiemoxie212 how was Harry Potter?!

    Edited bc the app is being dumb.
  • Ugh, @jsl82, just commiserating with you on your sick kid. I feel like my son has been sick constantly since he started daycare in September. Last night he coughed so hard he threw up all over his crib and then rolled around in it for a while before he cried for us.  :s I am SO READY for winter to be over!! Hoping the constant colds will slow down by spring.

    He is napping peacefully now and I have all my fingers crossed that this continues for a while...

    @BurlapandLace happy birthday!
    @emiliadkay your day sounds glorious!
    @doxiemoxie212 how was HP world?!?

    && every one dealing with sickness themselves, and/or sick kids.... hang in there! Spring will come eventually. I mean, it has to. Doesn't it??

    My weekend has been nice and productive so far! Finally starting to feel human again after being sick for just over two weeks! Got the crib all assembled and his dresser in the room....only to discover I'd really like the entire setup switched around (sorry, husband!). Dinner in the crockpot AND I don't work tomorrow. Makes for a pretty happy mama over here!
  • @ffw0617 I feel your pain! I've been annoyed with trying to be social.... I'm paranoid about why people I haven't seen in 3 years are all coming out of the woodwork trying to see me now? Must be emotions/hormones because I'm not sure what the motives there are. It's making me self conscious about my belly, and weight gain plus there's the whole getting ready thing lol. Plus, I'm feeling VERY private and offended by peoples curiosity with my reproductive health/womb options etc.  But, I'm starting to come out of my shell a little this past week and catch up with friends again.
  • @doxiemoxie212 Welcome back.  Great pictures, they look so professional!  Love the dress.  I'm glad you got to go - even though it is pretty pricey when you can't do much, even in the Universal part.  Sorry you didn't like the butterbeer - I'm a sugar fiend so naturally I love it.  I don't remember ice cream being there when I went but that sounds delicious.  What wands did you get?  We got Hermione's and the Elder Wand when we went but I don't see them on your one picture.
  • @becca_123 thanks! Just portrait mode on iPhone X lol. We got the... DH got snapes wand and I got one of the non-character ones, but I don’t remember what I got! Holly? Ash? Vine? I think vine.
  • @doxiemoxie212 love the pics!!! We are about an hour away from HP world and I love it!!! We last went for HHN a week before I found out I was pregnant. Glad you had a great time!
  • @doxiemoxie212 wow that looks so cool! I guess I'm surprised it looks so real but really I shouldn't be surprised lol! Thanks for the review. Awesome bump shots-you're rocking it and the dress is super cute!

    @doxiemoxie212 that looks amazing. Early FFFC....I've never seen nor read anything Harry Potter. BUT that looks so cool and I am fascinated by places that have the ability to transport you somewhere else so realistically. I am dying to go to Epcot for that very reason. I was a deprived child (I kid, I kid) but am thrilled to have my first Disney experience with my own babes one day.

    In other news, I sat on the couch all day long. In my defense, it was snowing, but for real. I didn't move except to eat and pee for like 13 hours. I didn't watch any tv either, so I'm not sure how I even managed to pass that much time. I almost finished my Target registry online, listened to 5 chapters of the book club book, ordered the Spectra 2 breast pump through my insurance/yummymummy, and spent a shameful amount of time on Pinterest. Oh I did do 2 tiny loads of dishes; just the crap I dirtied while cooking and eating.

    ETA: registering also included researching all the products that I wasn't finished with, which is probably where a huge chunk of the time actually went. I am a terrible decision maker (although usually a very researched one)

  • Hey all! I’ve been off for a few days because I was crazy busy at work and then we went out of town for the weekend. We went to a family cabin in the North Woods of WI for a weekend of snowmobiling. I grew up snowmobiling, I think my first ride was when I was 2 so it will be fun to tell my kid that their first rides where when I was 22 weeks pregnant.

    I did clear it with my dr and the trails were excellent so I’m not concerned about it but it is good to feel some kicks tonight. I actually think baby got lulled to sleep pretty good with the vibrations and bouncing because the second I got off the sled I started getting kicked.

    It was also my dad’s 60th birthday this weekend so it was fun to celebrate with family. We got him a pretty cool telescope and he was like a little kid with how excited he was.

    Just getting caught up on here.

    @BurlapandLace happy belated birthday!

    @doxiemoxie212 I am not a HP fan but that looks so cool. Definitely something to do with the kids and when you can participate more.

    Thanks to all who checked out BRU. I think I will wait a few weeks and maybe try to get some stock up items on sale.

  • @doxiemoxie212. Cool pictures

    @amys614. Same here. I hadn’t left the house all day except to grab food about an hour ago. I didn’t want to leave then but i was hungry and have been cooking every meal all weekend. We literally used every pot & pan. There’s so many dishes and I don’t feel like doing them.

  • @doxiemoxie212 I love Harry Potter world! I'm a huge HP nerd though. I was not a fan of butterbeer though, I'm not into cream soda. Also when I went I wasn't pregnant, I could not stand in lines when pregnant, so props to you!
  • I got all laundry and put away  (which is rare lol), went grocery shopping, and did dishes. Whew. And tomorrow is Anatomy Scan day so I'm excited to see baby!
  • @doxiemoxie212 we went once right after we were married. I think it was a bottle of pumpkin juice we bought or similar because we were astounded by the sugar content (like more than the recommended amount of sugar a person should ever have in a whole day). It sat in our fridge undrank as a source of amusement until we eventually moved and it got tossed.

  • @krashke - northern Wisconsin is so nice.  We have a family cottage that is along the WI and Upper Michigan border and we make at least one trek there per year (we're in Ohio, so it's a drive to get there).  We're considering going next winter as it's been a few years since we've gone in the winter.  I'm glad you had fun snowmobiling!
