@foxbaby2016 remember that a lot of what you put on is baby related (extra fluids and what not). Some ladies lose it with breastfeeding too. Once i was cleared from my c section i started a light workout. Definitely focus on your health and baby during pregnancy and PP. your healthy journey doesn’t need to end with pregnancy weight gain.
@lindsayleigh1989@nimmle +1 for out of breath here too. At work the walk from my desk to my car is pretty far and there are stairs and an incline in the parking garage. I'm always huffing & puffing by the time I get to my car.
@babyrojas2018 - so now my OB is freaking out and sent me to the cardiologist. She also agreed it's common to get higher HR and dizziness from heart doing 2x the work. I have a rare connective tissue issue and one of the less common issues is basically your heart exploding during childbirth - they don't think I have that specific subtype and hey i survived my first kid! but everyone is being EXTRA careful - esp because i've had palpitations for years and a mumur as a baby. So i get lots more tests to make sure there isn't something else going on that's just exacerbated by pregnancy.
How are you feeling today? Shortness of breath as baby grows is common but i would still see if you can go in and get it checked out.
@wildtot +1 for things being so bright. I drove to work this morning and everything just seemed so ridiculously bright to the point it hurt my eyes. Such a weird symptom! I knew your eyesight could change but didn’t know sensitivity was a thing too.
@wildtot@krystlerr have you had any swelling too? I had a routine eye exam a couple weeks ago and he mentioned that women who are prone to swelling (feet/legs/hands) during pregnancy often have eye issues too because the vessels (or something?) in the eye swell too.
@tarheelgirl8 nothing out of the norm. My hands get a bit swollen at the end of the day but not every day. So far only one day of weird vision but watching out for those “fireworks/stars” that i hear are not good.
For those of you with shortness of breath do you even notice it being accompanied with BH? I get a few of them and get a bit winded at the time till after it passes.
@gingerbride26 you had me at ‘heart exploding’!? Holy crap! I’m glad you’re getting good care and folks are appropriately concerned and monitoring you. Def safe than sorry.
I also have a connective tissue disorder and the question is if I’ll be able to support the weight of a full term baby without rupturing something internally.
@lindsayleigh1989 consider yourself luck! It feels like a whole lot of tightness and pressure for a short time but only part of your belly. I didn’t go through labor so i can’t say what a real contraction is like but i had lots of BH with DS this early in the game too.
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert oh that's interesting! I had a c section but it was over a year and a half ago... but it must be somehow connected. I do still have numb spots on either side of my scar near my hips as well. Crazy! I can't wait to ask my OB tomorrow.
@pretzellover Yea - they sent me over to the high risk dr's when I found out I was pregnant and they said from an OB standpoint I wasn't high risk, it was the rest of me surviving in one piece they were concerned about - like my back and hips being able to support a full term baby. They predicted I'd either be bedridden or begging to be induced by 36 because of the pain. The funny thing is with my first I was in 4 inch heels and laughing at people at 9 months, doing 3 miles daily at 41w, and besides 1 issue tweaking my back pulling a PC out of a vacuum box while full term, no issues at all. I'm really not worried about heart or uterus rupture, I really feel they're just CYA but I agree better safe than sorry. Is this your first? They say we CTD people go early and fast - I wasn't early but I was fast with my first (< 3 hours).
