oh that's easy. Mike's hard lemonade (do they still make that?). I was 20 yrs old, at a party at my friend's house. it was her friends and her older bro's friends. before people came, we thought it'd be fun to try putting Mike's down the beer bong. so I did. then I moved on to drinking my beer for the night. My memory from that night is very very limited. But I remember sitting behind some car in the driveway trying to eat something. And the cops pulled up. they came over to me, her brother was standing near by and the cop asked if I was of age.. luckily they believe him when he said I was (and believed everyone else was, cause not many of my friend's friends were yet). Theeeeen I threw up on the cops feet. they basically said to get me taken care of, everyone needs to quiet down and go inside and they left. But I remember sitting on the couch with a bucket between my legs and my friend helping me for a bit. I don't think I've had a taste of mike's since that night. gross.
And what do I want? a margarita with lots of salt. I'm not a big drinker anymore since having DS. so its usually that or miller light. but a margarita sounds yums. it was like that with his pregnancy to. a friend of ours visted us at the hospital and he actually brought me glasses and margarita mix to the hospital lol. I didn't open them though.

I definitely can't drink Captain anymore. No story in particular, it was just my liquor of choice in college so too many times of over indulging in it.
I also can't drink tequila. Maybe in a marg every once in awhile. That is due to a week in Mexico of way too much tequila. First day there we forgot to eat lunch so at 4:30, the only time that the resort had no food available, I hate ate a granola bar and then went up to my room to get ready for dinner and passed out in the shower. Literally took a two hour nap under the water. Not smart.
I am really looking forward to some good beers. A summer afternoon at a brewery sitting outside on the patio sounds so good right now. Not only because I can't drink but because it is currently -3 F.

What can't you drink anymore even when not pregnant, and what's the story behind that aversion? Whiskey of any kind! Before I was 21, I was home for the summer from college and my parents had like 3-4 bottles of Canadian Club whiskey in their liquor cabinet which they had received for purchasing new vehicles from this car dealership they had went to throughout the span of my lifetime. Since they're not whiskey drinkers and I wasn't 21, I guessed they wouldn't notice if one of the bottles went missing so I took it and went to party in the woods with my friends. Cue me and friends passing said bottle all night and then ALL of us throwing up. DH doesn't drink often but when he does, he likes a whiskey sour and I can't even have a sip or smell his without getting my throat going!
Bonus question: What's the drink you're most looking forward to after you give birth? A super cold, from the tap pint of Spotted Cow beer or a big glass of cabernet!
Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. On NYE during my freshman year of college, I must have done upwards of 10+ shots at a friend's house. I was so hungover that I threw up after eating dinner at my grandmother's house on New Year's day in the bathroom sink.
All I want right now is a glass of Alsatian Riesling. I'm also excited for Rose season!
Oh yum @harveyabbey77 - I can't get Spotted Cow around here, but always make sure to grab one when we're in Wisconsin.
I can't drink tequila. I haven't had any since I was 19. Don't plan on ever having it again. Doesn't matter if it's a margarita or in some other drink. No thanks.
I want a New Belgium Fat Tire, or even a Yuengling. I mainly drink beer and really don't like IPAs. So give me an amber and I'm a happy camper.

This is pretty tame, but I can't stomach white grape juice. Due to family history, at age 25 I had to start having a colonoscopy every 5 years (last year, I had my third.) Part of prep for the second time I had one involved mixing an entire bottle of powdered laxative with your preferred clear liquid of choice. I thought white grape juice was a good idea. Not only did I have to drink the entire jug of it, but to this day, I associate it with the aftermath.
After this kid comes, my first drink(s) will be a bourbon and ginger ale, followed by an ice cold Blue Moon, with an orange slice. I'm having dreams about the latter.
I've never been able to tolerate whiskey, but not for any particular reason... I guess maybe it has something to do with drinking Jack Daniels and Root Beer the second time I ever got drunk, but that's a less interesting story (I was basically drinking specifically to avoid talking to this EXTREMELY annoying girl).
Raspberry flavored Smirnoff is my nemesis. Oh god, even thinking about it. My best friend at the time was turning 17 (she was old for our year, and I was young for our year, so I was barely 16), and she said we were going to go out with a group to dinner. The plan was for me to go over to her house, leave my car there/sleep there, and some of her other friends that I didn't know super well were going to pick us up. We were waiting and waiting and waiting, and no one was responding to our texts, so we were about to give up on the night when these girls show up at her house with an SUV limo. They decided it would be more fun to drive around in this all night than to get food (you can see where this is going already). The girls had brought raspberry Smirnoff and sprite; the driver went into a convenience store and bought us shitty sparkling wine. I still cringe thinking about how irresponsible all of this is. Anyway, we drank a lot, on an empty stomach, and I really only have flashes of the night. At one point we were in a parking lot, but I had no idea where we were. We went to some guy's house, but I don't know whom. I remember at the end of the night, the other girls wanted us to chip in money for the limo, but we'd never agreed to it, and I definitely didn't have that kind of money, so we didn't and they got mad. Anyway, no more raspberry Smirnoff.
As for after labor.... really good red wine and a mezcal paloma, please! Wouldn't say no to a high quality marg (with salt), though.
I can't drink Malibu rum anymore because like @krashke it was my drink of choice in college and I way over indulged. My 18-20 year old self was like "I'm Puerto Rican so I drink rum" and now I can barely stomach it unless it's in a cocktail.
The other drink I couldn't have for a long time, but have started to get over is red wine. It was my drink of choice in my early 20s. When I was 24 one of my best friends got married and after the rehearsal dinner, threw a huge bonfire/party at her future in-laws house. Well they bought a few of those giant bottles of wine and a lot of beer, but everyone was mostly drinking beer (which I don't like because I don't like carbonation). Her FIL noticed I was drinking the wine and kept giving me more and more and more. I ended up blacking out and the next thing I remember is sitting on the floor throwing up in a trash can. Except it wasn't a trash can, it was a milk crate. And I was in my other friend's parent's house guest room where I had just thrown up red wine all over their white carpet. And what was in the milk crate? My friend's little sister's stuff from her college dorm room. Still can't look her parents in the eye, but my friend thinks it's hilarious and tells the story every chance she gets. Apparently they had to replace the carpet because they couldn't get the stain out..
I also don't drink much anymore, but I could go for a glass of chard just for reliving that embarrassment!

+1 to the Captain Morgan crew. I ran for president of my sorority one year and lost to someone I thought was totally unqualified. I thought it was the end of the world (spoiler alert: it wasn't!). I went back to my room and proceeded to drink almost a whole bottle of Captain Morgan with a couple of close friends. I don't know how I didn't die.
I'm most looking forward to a Belvedere gimlet on the rocks. I'm also happy these kids will be out by rose season. I'm bummed to be missing red wine season.
@doxiemoxie212 Blech, no. I have a mental block with red wine when it is warm out. MAYBE I'll have a glass if I'm eating steak or lamb in the summer. But I'd still prefer an oakey chardonnay over red if it is warm out.
@LaceyBee522 I mean, when it's hot out, I'm always going to choose rose or white (I'm a viognier girl, though) BUT I wouldn't say no to a slightly chilled pinot noir on a summer night...
ugh now I want wine so bad, but I'm 23 weeks pregnant and it's not even 11am on a Tuesday! In no world is this an appropriate craving!
UV Blue for me! Freshman year of college we thought we were brilliant to disguise it in blue Powerade bottles so we didn’t get busted in the dorms. Bleh! I hate even thinking about that stuff anymore!
i can’t wait for a Bloody Mary after this kiddo comes out. Or also a nice big frozen margarita.
Oh, and even the thought of the Wildberry Jack Country Cocktail makes me taste bile in my mouth. I don't recall which underage party did it to me, but it was definitely bad.

Haha I love this! Mine is probably screwdrivers. I love vodka and I love orange juice but I drank them in college and it made it so I couldn't enjoy orange juice (not spiked) at breakfast for a long long time. Now that I can finally enjoy OJ again I don't like mixing alcohol with it anymore haha. Also just cheap liquor in general I pretty much refuse to drink anymore.
@catlady1215 I like Mike's Hard but I can definitely only drink like 1 of them. They give me horrible heartburn if I drink any more. One time I had way too many while tubing with friends and ohmygosh the burnnnnn!
I also hate Fireball and refuse to drink it. For some reason it seems to be everyone's "shot of choice" whenever I'm with people. No thanks. Give me tequila with a lime and some salt, or some Jameson/other good whiskey any day.
I can't wait to drink wine again, but I've also been missing a good cold beer. Since it'll be hot as hell here when baby is born I know I'll want something refreshing. I'm hoping baby is out before my birthday (July 3) so that I can celebrate!
I'm so boring. I don't have any fun, young, drank too much of something stories. I didn't start drinking alcohol until I was like 24. That being said, my friends 30th birthday party was the first and only time I got sick. I didn't really drink too much of anything, but I mixed. I was drinking pineapple rum and sprite, but then did 2 jager bombs, and my friend and I ended the night with jello shots (vodka) Rookie mistake, I know, I know (at 30 lol) As i was laying on her bathroom floor reminding myself that this is the reason you've never done this before dummy, she came and sat next to me. I think I was asking her "whyyyyyyy did I do this" and she gave me some drunk response about how I never went away to college and tested my limits and I had to figure them out for myself and tonight was the night I figured them out. Thanks girlfriend, thanks.
The drink I most look forward to is the freshly made muddled fruit margaritas at this place in the city. They have pepino with chile salt on the rim, fresh watermelon, hibiscus, pineapple and jalapeno. Oh man, so good. My guy and I really really enjoy finding good, chill places in the city in the summer to have a few drinks and really great food outside. We just really love going out, just the 2 of us and soaking in what Chicago has to offer. It will obviously be different with a babes, but plan on using our first grandma babysitting day for our birthdays in August to hit up the fresh margarita place.
@harveyabbey77 I'm not a huge beer drinker. I'll enjoy a Corona in the summer or an occasional Blue Moon, but beer makes me really full. That being said, we enjoyed a few trips to the Lake Geneva area this last summer and fell in love with it. Our goal is to one day own a summer home in the nearby area. It was there that we had our first Spotted Cow and I have never enjoyed a beer so much. We bought a few 6 packs to bring home on our last trip out there in September but haven't touched them because I found out I was pregnant shortly there after and I won't let my bf drink them without me Maybe TMI, but this little babes was conceived on that Spotted Cow trip We joked that if we can't come up with a boy name, we will just name him Delavan, where we stayed that trip (jk...kind of)
Mine is Jager. It was the first thing I ever got drunk from and now even the smell of star anise gets me gagging. I ended up puking all over a friends bed. I also cant drink Captain anymore for the same reasons as @krashke.
I can't wait for a summer beer. One of my favorite local breweries makes an awesome mango IPA.
@doxiemoxie212 I agree regarding a "good sweet red wine". I got spoiled with amazing wines when I worked at this fancy resort with an incredible wine inventory.
I was never one to really over do it. In college we partied every Thur, Fri & Sat so it was more about longevity for the weekend not so much getting shitfaced on any particular occasion. The one time I got really sick was from apple martinis. I'm almost sure the bartender had it out for me. Out with some law school classmates and a guy buys me a martini. Shortly after DH (at that time was just my bf) comes in, ask who brought me a drink (I never let DH buy me drinks bc he thinks getting me drunk is fun) not to be out done he buys me another martini which the bartender spills some handing it over. DH gets upset, points out that she spilled the drink and that I should get a new one. The bartender makes another in addition to giving me the spilled one. I have now had 3 martinis in about 30 minutes. A fourth and 5th drink magically appear (by this point I have no sense of time so IDK how far apart these last drinks were) and I went to the bathroom everything was spinning the moment I stood up. I told DH to drive me home. I barely made it upstairs before throwing up in every sink, tub, and toilet in the apartment. The apple flavored vomit continued for another 24 hours.
I can't even smell tequila anymore...I was 19 at my best friends lake house and we drank a whole bottle while on a boat with a bunch of older college kids and thought we were so ba...we drank the whole bottle straight and blasted Mariah Carey's always be my baby on repeat until we were dropped back off at the house and both got so sick we swore off alcohol forever. Swearing off all alcohol was pretty ambitious and definitely didn't last long, but to this day 12 years later neither of us touch tequila.
I have some plans to meet up with some college friends after baby is born and I can't wait to have a spotted cow (partially because it's delicious, partially bc I can't get it around here even when not pregnant). Red wine and blue moon have also been sounding really good lately too
I can't drink anything malted bc I can't have gluten. I also can't drink rum bc it always makes me super sick. Lastly, if I drink more than a few of anything, it gives me a stomach ache bc of my IBS.
I'm totally looking forward to having a drink in June though.
Seems to be a trend on here, but Captain Morgan. First time I was drunk and I was blackout drunk. ( I have never done that again), Luckily I was with my now DH and he was gentlemen. It could have been very bad. I was dumb.
Now the smell makes my stomach turn.
First drink after LO. James Bond Martini recipe from the Jelly Fish in FL. It is so good, but strong.
+1 to the Mike's aversion. No bad experiences, just heart burn city! The only time I've been really sick was from apple pie moonshine (apple cider, sugar, everclear, cinnamon sticks) but it sure doesn't stop me from drinking it now.
Since this babe is coming in the summer, I'm looking forward to an ice cold gin and tonic or mojito on a warm night!
@amys614 where in the city is this magical muddled Marg place? I must know!!!
The worst for me is probably any hard liquor that comes in a plastic bottle but ESPECIALLY Skol vodka. That crap almost killed me in HS. I don't really like any vodka because of it. Ack.
Runner up is SoCo. One summer in college my roommate and I drank SoCo and Fresca like all day every day for about a week or so. So sweet, I can't even think about near SoCo. So gross.
You ladies have a lot of great ideas. I will likely first have a nice glass of red wine, probably a Malbec. But I'd happily take a margarita, a craft beer, or a bloody Mary, lol.
I’ve been fiercely craving a margarita lately. I’m thinking of going to get tacos soon and ordering a virgin one to see if it will temporarily satisfy.
@bearmoons It's on Halsted and Cermak and it's called Del Toro. It's a small place so I'd recommend going for the first time maybe on like a Sunday at like 4pm or during the week bc they get super busy.
I honestly haven't tried a flavor I don't like. Check out their menu online. The carne apache appetizer is also amazeballssss.
This thread is actually making me feel sick but soon I’ll take refuge in the “what my pregnant self is eating” and I’ll be ravenous again.
+1 to too much Captain Morgan in college. It doesn’t even taste good - why is it the college drink of choice?!
In college for whatever reason my friends and I drank a lot of gin including Tanqueray. I’m pretty sure it was inspired by the Gin and Juice song. Anyways I can’t drink any gin now from too many hangovers.
I avoided tequila throughout college and am so glad because now it is my favorite. I would absolutely love a strawberry or watermelon margarita - YUM
