@BusinessWife It's so awesome that everything is going smoothly for you. How fun to share with your in-laws this weekend.
How far along? /EDD. Any milestones? We are 11 weeks today and the EDD is 8/20. My appetite is definitely coming back and I am starving every morning.
Recent Results / Next Appointment? I have two appointments next week - my appt with the genetic counselor and the MaterniT 21 test is Monday the 5th and then our first appt with the OB is Tuesday the 6th. I can't wait. I am so nervous that anything could have gone wrong since our last exam and I will feel so much better after these appointments.
How's it going? Besides the anxiety... good. I've gotten into a good fitness routine and found some 1st trimester strength workouts on pinterest that I like. We are also planning our babymoon! H is training for Ironman Boulder in early June so we will go out early to vacation in Aspen and then drive to Boulder. Rocky Mountain Babymoon!!

Recent Results / Next Appointment? Scan on Friday put us right on track and HB was 178. Everything looks great so far! Next appointment is February 13 for the NT and NIPT and I'll also meet with a midwife (which is fine but since I have to have a c-section due to previous uterine surgeries, I'm not sure how much we'll get to talk about
How's it going? Smell sensitivity is in full force and boobs are super sore. I reached across the bed this morning to get something (wasn't wearing a bra, sorry if TMI) and brushed my nipple on the sheets and it hurt for like five minutes afterward. Stuff is no joke! Otherwise dealing with nausea mostly at night and first thing in the morning and am exhausted from 2:00 pm until I go to bed. I am also sleeping like garbage.
Just had my first two blood tests! Was TTC for 2+ yrs and IVF. Still v. nervous, but optimistic... Does anyone know what u see at the first ultrasound (6 wks)?
Midwest Momma to be + Dog Mom to Riley, Beagle/Boxer/Snarfer Baby Blob due Oct 7! PAIF 2+ years!
@sierraddweddig. Congratulations! At my first ultrasound we saw just the gestational sac and yolk sac. Then we heard the HB at our next one which was 6+6.
Recent Results / Next Appointment? We saw and heard the heartbeat last week! Such a wonderful sound. I'm still battling a lot of anxiety but fortunately my husband is totally sold that this will be our take-home baby so I know I will get there too.
How's it going? Pretty sure I'm on the train to hyperemesis gravidarum again this pregnancy... Even with unisom+b6 I'm still vomiting most mornings and every single night. Well, at least I can keep lunch down! The small victories in first tri, amirite?
Question for you guys: Did you take estrogen with your transfer (mine was a frozen transfer)? If so, did you continue it until you also stopped progesterone? I'm almost out of estrogen so I put in a call to refill the med with the RE's office, and the nurse said I could just quit if I wanted, but also if I had it I would keep taking it? So I'm not sure. Kind of a mixed message.
So I'm at 8 weeks and they stopped my PIO and the Estrace tablets both. I am only just taking the Endometrin and Levo. So that's probably what she means. You may not really need to continue it anyway after next week, so maybe they just figure if you run out a few days early, nbd. @adirat
Appointments? I’m still getting weekly u/s so this Thursday & I’ll also be having my 3rd intralipid IV
How’s it going? My anxiety was back up & out of control this week so I cut back on my pregnancy board reading (both in the Sept 2018 birth mom and a facebook group for MTHFR & pregnancy). It’s great to have access to real life experience from others but it’s like I know too much hearing their horror stories. Ugh! Also I will be asking lots more questions this week about what they saw on u/s last week. I’ve been following orders and lying down as much as possible but that’s a recipe for disaster with so much time to think!
@sarcasticowl I hear you on the terrible sleep- that’s been consistent over here... but I do know I’m lucky overall in terms of symptoms. Hope you ladies have a great week!!

@adirat Sorry about the MS (or all the time sickness I guess). Hang in there! I was on estrogen patches and estrace until 10 weeks. They had me stop all the estrogen and PIO at the same time.

I will check it out! Thank you. I just randomly told a male colleague that I ran into that I’m pregnant?!?! I walked away like why would I do that? He asked if I’ve hired anyone and I launched into saying that I think I’m going to have to etc etc. I haven’t even told some friends yet - I’m crazy!

How far along? /EDD. Any milestones? Sept 2nd or 5th? Need to clarify that lol. Successful sonogram today babies hb is 175 and 2.3 cm. Doubled in size from last week! Also great news the SCH bleeding is very small now almost gone. I'm very relieved.
Recent Results / Next Appointment? Today 4 pm. Hubby isn't going because he has to work. Just got back from nutritionist and she looked back at records and set my starting Pregnancy weight. According to her I've only gained 1 lb so far so that is great and success I can report back to OB today. Ob wanted me to see hospital nutritionist at least once but insurance won't cover it so it is $145. I'm passing and just sticking with mine. Have appt for genetics counselor scheduled and really wanting that to be over with. So much waiting with pregnancy!!
@lablover78 I completely randomly told my accountant I was pregnant several weeks ago so you aren't the only one!! Haha that is funny though, I know what you mean it's like you just blurt it out. I felt crappy afterwards though so I try my very best to keep a lid on it, but not easy.
My anxiety is getting better, I guess my Dr. was optimistic last time so I am feeling more optimistic. Probably falsly so, but I'll take it because ignorance is bliss at this point. Well not bliss but better than anxiety hell.
***Edited****
Well I thought my anxiety was better, it is just changing as baby becomes real. I had a 1.5 day panic attack about work. I'm calmed down now and everything is fine, but just went ahead and edited my post. It was very rambly and complainy and didn't even fully communicate.
The gist is: My main stress in early spring is my business. I'm a landscape designer and things are slow right now. Things will pick back up for me in spring but I am bored with no work and also getting anxious about having too much work in spring. This is how it goes for many small business owners and it always works out for me every year. I am just especially stressed this year when I think about being pregnant and doing it all. But it will all sort out and I can pare back as needed. I just struggle with reducing my work after so many years devoted to my career. But I'm sure once I can fill in with more activities like preparing more for the baby, telling people and once it comes it will be ok.
@adirat sorry to hear hear about your MS. I have just been green around the gills and dizzy but haven't thrown up. I bet that is very hard, hang in there!
@sarcasticowl I cannot sleep at all! I have to pee 3-5 times a night. Then I just toss and turn. Hubby has been sleeping in guest room bc he thinks he's getting a cold. So it has been a little better having more room. I just worry about all my gymnastics in bed and him not sleeping either.
@sierraddweddig. Welcome! First sono 5-6 weeks may not show heartbeat so keep your head up as it is very early. Will help you relax and feel more confident or informed of what is happening when you see sac and fetal pole. Dr. may be able to measure these and let you know how things are progressing. A few of us here are a few weeks farther along than you, but just know we've all been there with the anxiety of the first few weeks. Hang in there it seems like time slows down but once you hear heartbeat seems to speed back up again.
Hi ladies! I’ve been lurking lately and not posting lately for some reason lol I tried to lurk on the August 2018 moms boards but they’re kind of rude on some so I’ll stick with PAIF. I’m 10 weeks 4 days, EDD 8/24. We have an appointment with the OB tomorrow for an ultrasound and planning for the pregnancy appointment (not sure what that entails). This will be my 2nd apt with the regular OB after graduating from my RE. The first didn’t go super smoothly lol so hopefully tomorrow will be ok... I was spoiled with the all of the ultrasounds from the RE & the OB had zero intentions of giving me one that day, which was news to me, so I basically threw a mini fit and got my way. I have 2 more days of progesterone and estrogen before I can finally stop taking mine, my RE wants us to take it until week 11, so crazy how they all vary. Oh & we bought the sneak peek gender test, not putting all our marbles into it, but we are apparently having a baby boy! (We didn’t do pgs testing)
Hi everyone sorry I’ve been off the boards. It was a super busy weekend and I think I’m
still recovering from all the activity. All
I want to do is sleep! I’m 12w+2 today
EDD 8/13. I’m not sure why but 12wks has
been a huge mental milestone for me. I was brave enough to break out the yarn and start a baby
blanket for MY baby and not someone else’s (I've made A LOT of baby blankets over the years).
There may have been tears it was a really big deal for me. I also
may have paid way too much for yarn that was made of baby alpaca wool and
mulberry silk. We told the immediate
family and there all excited, my dad and mother-in-law have taken to text us horrible baby names that I'm pretty sure they are giving as serious suggestions but I'm happy they are so excited.
DW went a little
crazy and told all her friends at her bday party which is what it is but now I
figure I should tell my friends and I’m just dragging my feet.
Next appointment is 2/13 so I’m just chilling and hoping everything
is ok in there. Nausea is still every
day but I have parts of the day where I feel like a human again. I still have food aversions to meat but dairy
seems to be making a comeback..yay! And
I do want food again.
@BusinessWife is graduating from the RE not the best
graduation ever?!? I swear I was
contemplating making a paper hat and forcing my RE to take a picture with me
but when we had to do our last visit with another doc it just seemed
crazy.
@sacrasticowl. I feel
you on the boobies pain. I’ve had issues
with sensitivity forever and the pregnancy has made them awful. I’m so paranoid about breastfeeding I keep
reading articles to talk myself into it.
I hope they desensitize by that time.
@cirrra welcome!!! I
had my first ultrasound at 6w0d. We saw
basically a little blob that was the baby and a yolk sac. We also were able to see the little flicker
of the heart and they were able to measure the heartbeat but I think it can be
hit or miss at that age if you can see it yet or not.
@hottietoddy anxiety is horrible. Now that I’m not stressing about the baby as
much I’ve started stressing about paying for the baby…and taking time off work
for the baby, and oh my god just don’t look up how much day care costs or even
worse looking up tuition for that fancy little pre-school in the neighborhood. I think the mind loses it a little. I know many more people have made this work
with a lot less but it’s hard not to get in your head. I just keep trying to tell myself it will all
work out.
@hreason1114 I was looking on the August 2018 moms boards
too. It’s all over the place…and
snippy! With the IF groups and with this
one everyone is just supportive and normal.
I guess life has beat us up enough so we want to be nice to each other. I’ve never heard of
the sneak peek gender test. What is
that? We are waiting to find out we did
PGS so I’m trying to keep my partner from secretly calling my RE to spill the
beans. I want the surprise!

@2MomsHoping@hreason1114 I just popped over to the August 2018 moms board and WOW. Not only do they have an obscene number of rules and daily post topics, but they attack en masse like killer bees. It's really atrocious and incredibly unfeeling and immature. There are so many ways to tell overly excited (and, sure, absurd) moms-to-be that no one can tell the gender from a profile pic of your baby, but they lay into these people and honestly, given how emotional pregnant women are, I would be surprised if some of them aren't on the other ends of their computers completely hysterical. They say they're a supportive group but my God, one step out of line and they destroy you. I'm literally never going back over even to lurk (they even laid into someone who said their vitriol is why she lurks and doesn't post, and they were like "well you're not lurking if you're posting that" and "you say lurker, I say creeper" - good grief!)
Thank you all for being super supportive and not jumping down any throats basically ever. Even when we formerly IF mamas are a little out of our minds (which for me is pretty much all the time).
I agree, August is pretty rough. I usually stay out of any of the drama but I do read all the posts and the group can be intense. Are all the BMB's like that?

@2MomsHoping yay for baby blankets I wish I knew how to knit!! Sneak peek is an at home blood kit that you mail back to the lab and they are supposedly 99% accurate. But no males can be present or touch any of the supplies since it can easily be contaminated with their Y chromosome. It’s about $80 for the test so it’s not the end of the world if it’s wrong but I believe lol I am so impatient I just couldnt even wait until the 18 week scan much less birth!!! @sarcasticowl yes exactly! I couldn’t figure out what half the boards meant and then I saw those women fussing at other women for not knowing any better and I thought nooo way!
Afm we had our appointment this morning and it went great! We saw bean dancing around and he’s starting to look like a human, this is feeling real finally! *typos
@BusinessWife I'm back online and I was looking for the ladies I remember before I was benched last year. I see that you got your BFP. I'm so freaking happy for you
Sorry to interrupt ladies.
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

The August BMB had two losses this week and its freaking me out. My appt on Monday cannot get here fast enough. The anxiety is driving me nuts. My husband says, look at your giant boobs, you're obviously still pregnant. But I will feel much better after our appts next week.
On a lighter note, I had an insane pregnancy dream last night. We were at our OB appt and my exam was taking place in the doctor's office, not an exam room, so she was doing an ultrasound on me while I sat next to her. We saw the baby (which looked about 6 months old) and it was a girl...and she was wearing clothes. I said to my husband, 'where did she get that outfit?'. So weird. Later in the dream the concierge from our apt building was at our appointment was sharing information from our exam with a doctor I know from work - he's a transplant surgeon not an OB. So...a lot going on there.

Question to the group.
Is anyone showing already? I saw
some bump pictures and other women where showing at 10/12 weeks and not all of
them showing were like rail thin supermodels.
Is it normal to start showing that early? It just seemed crazy to
me. I don’t even have a bloat bump.
@sarcasticowl, @laurad75 I know those moms are crazy. I hope this isn’t a sneak peek into what
mommy wars are like. I just can’t help
myself I like to lurk and see the drama.
Of course I also watch the bachelor and teen mom soooo I do get a little
bit of a sick thrill out of crazy behavior as long as it’s at a safe distance…lol
@hreason1114 Thanks for the info on the kit, amazing what
you can find out from home these days!
As for knitting I could never get the hang of that either but I’ve found
crocheting much easier and once you get the hang of it you can make some pretty
cute stuff. Youtube has lots of easy
tutorials for beginners.
@laurad75 the losses always freak my out too. I actually haven’t clicked on any of them
until one yesterday where the thread just made me click don’t know why…I think
its really hard to just have blind faith that everything is ok in there. Stay positive the odds are totally in our
favor! I’ve also had insane crazy dream
and racy dreams. Maybe since I’ve been
so sick and my life is totally G rated right now my sub conscious is making up
for it...lol

@2MomsHoping Nothing here either other than my normal pooch that I can no longer even attempt to suck in because of the incredible level of bloating My lower pelvis, right above my pubic bone, feels a little more firm to the touch but that's about it. Still flat. I think I remember the nurse saying the baby had implanted on the back wall of my uterus, too, which may make it longer for me to show.
Hey guys- So I swear I'm either bloated or getting a little something bump like going. My best friend says I won't show until 16 weeks but I read at 10 you can. My shirts and jeans don't fit right and my hubby can tell too. It might be bloat but it's baby related! Haha
I am so glad others have mentioned the other boards. I personally think there is no reason the women should speak to and treat others that way, for any reason. Even if they ask the dumbest silliest question and post it in the wrong place. The poor lady is just trying to join in just like us all and TTC and Pregnancy is hard. I personally think it is a form of bullying and I don't participate in any other boards. It is also a Bump phenomenon and culture. Who cares what the rules are. I gave up on all of it a long time ago but then very happy to find such a nice group here! Let's keep it up! Normal and no drama 4EVA!
My H definitely already said to me not to "push it put" bc I'm already showing a blump, :# I gained a lot of wait by the end with back to back retrievals and back to back transfer cycles, but still. I feel like anyone who sees me every day is going to think somethings really up very soon. I can only play off being bummed about my weight gain, and having been started on thyroid meds for so long... <div class="Spoiler">***blump pic removed for privacy***</div>
@persnickity, @businessWife, @hottietoddy, and
@sarcasticowl. Congrats on your little
bumps starting. I’m sure mine will start
to show too. I’ve lost about 15lbs due
to the morning sickness so maybe that’s why I’m not showing yet. Also I like 5’9 and a little overweight to
begin with so lots of room for the baby to hide in there :P I’m hope to be
getting my bump soon.

I can't imagine having lost 15 lbs since the pregnancy (I've already gained 10 :s ) I'm sure just everyones body is different, and everyone carries different, and even to a mama, she can carry differently from one pregnancy to the next! Hope the nausea subsides and you start feeling better soon... ❤

Baby Blob due Oct 7!
PAIF 2+ years!
@laurad75 @sarcasticowl Wonderful news! Good luck with your NIPT/genetic testing. @sarcasticowl I hope you start feeling better soon.

EDD? 9w+2, measuring at 9w+1

The gist is:
My main stress in early spring is my business.
It was a super busy weekend and I think I’m still recovering from all the activity. All I want to do is sleep! I’m 12w+2 today EDD 8/13. I’m not sure why but 12wks has been a huge mental milestone for me. I was brave enough to break out the yarn and start a baby blanket for MY baby and not someone else’s (I've made A LOT of baby blankets over the years). There may have been tears it was a really big deal for me. I also may have paid way too much for yarn that was made of baby alpaca wool and mulberry silk. We told the immediate family and there all excited, my dad and mother-in-law have taken to text us horrible baby names that I'm pretty sure they are giving as serious suggestions but I'm happy they are so excited. DW went a little crazy and told all her friends at her bday party which is what it is but now I figure I should tell my friends and I’m just dragging my feet.
Next appointment is 2/13 so I’m just chilling and hoping everything is ok in there. Nausea is still every day but I have parts of the day where I feel like a human again. I still have food aversions to meat but dairy seems to be making a comeback..yay! And I do want food again.
@BusinessWife is graduating from the RE not the best graduation ever?!? I swear I was contemplating making a paper hat and forcing my RE to take a picture with me but when we had to do our last visit with another doc it just seemed crazy.
@laurad75 you’re giving me babymoon fever!
@sacrasticowl. I feel you on the boobies pain. I’ve had issues with sensitivity forever and the pregnancy has made them awful. I’m so paranoid about breastfeeding I keep reading articles to talk myself into it. I hope they desensitize by that time.
@cirrra welcome!!! I had my first ultrasound at 6w0d. We saw basically a little blob that was the baby and a yolk sac. We also were able to see the little flicker of the heart and they were able to measure the heartbeat but I think it can be hit or miss at that age if you can see it yet or not.
@hottietoddy anxiety is horrible. Now that I’m not stressing about the baby as much I’ve started stressing about paying for the baby…and taking time off work for the baby, and oh my god just don’t look up how much day care costs or even worse looking up tuition for that fancy little pre-school in the neighborhood. I think the mind loses it a little. I know many more people have made this work with a lot less but it’s hard not to get in your head. I just keep trying to tell myself it will all work out.
@hreason1114 I was looking on the August 2018 moms boards too. It’s all over the place…and snippy! With the IF groups and with this one everyone is just supportive and normal. I guess life has beat us up enough so we want to be nice to each other. I’ve never heard of the sneak peek gender test. What is that? We are waiting to find out we did PGS so I’m trying to keep my partner from secretly calling my RE to spill the beans. I want the surprise!

I saw some bump pictures and other women where showing at 10/12 weeks and not all of them showing were like rail thin supermodels. Is it normal to start showing that early? It just seemed crazy to me. I don’t even have a bloat bump.
@sarcasticowl, @laurad75 I know those moms are crazy. I hope this isn’t a sneak peek into what mommy wars are like. I just can’t help myself I like to lurk and see the drama. Of course I also watch the bachelor and teen mom soooo I do get a little bit of a sick thrill out of crazy behavior as long as it’s at a safe distance…lol
@hreason1114 Thanks for the info on the kit, amazing what you can find out from home these days! As for knitting I could never get the hang of that either but I’ve found crocheting much easier and once you get the hang of it you can make some pretty cute stuff. Youtube has lots of easy tutorials for beginners.
@laurad75 the losses always freak my out too. I actually haven’t clicked on any of them until one yesterday where the thread just made me click don’t know why…I think its really hard to just have blind faith that everything is ok in there. Stay positive the odds are totally in our favor! I’ve also had insane crazy dream and racy dreams. Maybe since I’ve been so sick and my life is totally G rated right now my sub conscious is making up for it...lol

So I swear I'm either bloated or getting a little something bump like going.
<div class="Spoiler">***blump pic removed for privacy***</div>
@persnickity, @businessWife, @hottietoddy, and @sarcasticowl. Congrats on your little bumps starting. I’m sure mine will start to show too. I’ve lost about 15lbs due to the morning sickness so maybe that’s why I’m not showing yet. Also I like 5’9 and a little overweight to begin with so lots of room for the baby to hide in there :P I’m hope to be getting my bump soon.
